  1. Def not pre op, but my surgeon said I could have a maximum of 2 per day post op.
  2. Lol, and we can fight over who gets the doggy bag. Loving the festive food ATM, had about 1/4 cup turkey breast for dinner with 2 slices of cucumber, 1/8 of a tomato and 1 piece of potato from a potato salad. I certainly don't feel deprived, I feel content and happy. Even when I've had ice cream on special occasions, I don't feel guilty because I only have a mouthful, and that's enough. I'd much rather have a cup of tea. I haven't even opened a single window on my advent calendar since the 7th!!!! Sumo salad would be easier to split between 6 people, could you imagine the looks if we asked the waiter at the Lindt cafe for just one Lindor ball because we'll share it. Lol.
  3. I'd love to meet up. Depending on how I go over Christmas, we could go to the Lindt cafe, or sumo salad. Lol.

Start weight, current weight, goal weight?

I was 104kg when I first saw the surgeon, had surgery mid August this year, weigh 61.5kg today, my goal is 58kg. If I can give you any advice, get approved for surgery, then work your butt off (literally) losing as much weight as you can, both pre and post op. my psyc said to me that this is the last diet I'll ever be on, so to give it everything I've got. At my 3 month check up, I had already lost 124 percent of my excess weight. Now, for Christmas, I can eat a rum ball here and there and enjoy myself. I'm going to have to buy size 8 work pants in the new year and am currently wearing a size xs top from supre. I just wanted to fit into any clothes from there, now I'm wearing an xs. Love my sleeve.

Sydney peeps! Who was your surgeon?

My goal weight is 58kg, but I'm in no rush to get there. Yes, I had my surgery this year. The psychologist told me that this would be my last diet ever and to really make the biggest effort possible in the first 6 months. Great advice. This is the first year I can remember that my New Years resolution hasn't been to lose weight. Good luck with your decision.

Sydney peeps! Who was your surgeon?

I had dr Craig Taylor because everything was included, especially the follow up care, which I thought meant he cared about my success and not just about getting my money and never seeing me again. I really like all the staff at the clinic. Initial appointment with him was end of June, surgery mid August. Start weight 104kg, surgery weight 90kg, current weight 62kg.

    Who is on your side?

If, in the unlikely event, they happen to find something on these tests that disqualifies you from surgery, then it is likely something that will need treatment. Therefore, knowing that there are problems, means they can be fixed. Often, problems diagnosed from these tests doesn't completely disqualify you from surgery, it just means your surgeon has forewarning, or can put you on medication or give other treatments before having the surgery. Isn't it better to know that you have something wrong now than when you wake up after surgery but the dr says that he had to close you up because he found something bad? It's not a great deal of money to ensure that everything is as safe as possible. Knowledge is power.
  8. I had to make rum balls this week so I made them at my mums house and left all of the left overs there. I can eat 1 at a time and be happy, but was scared that I would keep going back for more. I just discovered that I struggle with grapes. I can only have about 3 or 4 before feeling really full. Why is it that I would probably be able to eat more grape sized rum balls than I can grapes???
  9. I don't think that I have grown, but I am standing a lot straighter as my huge boobs aren't pulling me down any more and I have the confidence to hold my head high. I am now 3cm taller than I used to be, but think that is the only reason. As I said, I don't think I have actually grown.
  10. Saw the first photo since starting this journey that i loved this week. I have been really struggling with still seeing myself as fat. I'm now 62.5kg but until seeing this photo, still felt like I was 100kg. I won't post the pic because it has my daughter in it, but thought I'd share my NSV.

    August 2012 Sleevers?

Sleeved 13th August. 5kg away from my goal. Have been stalled for about 3 weeks. Lost nearly 40kg so far.
  12. I would have thought that the shakes would have been good for you. High in Vitamins and minerals as well as Protein. You don't want them for weight loss, but for nutrient boosting. I would make an appointment with your Obgyn ASAP and aske them for a referral to a pregnancy nutritionist. Good luck, and congratulations. Also, make sure you are taking a pregnancy Vitamin including folate.
  13. Lol. It's fine, I know what you mean. Just had a call from my NUT saying that the blood test I had last week was all perfect. I have been having a lot of trouble with taking my Multivitamin and honestly haven't taken any since I started on solid food. I was really scared that I would be deficient in a lot of things, but everything was normal. I'm not low in anything, in fact, I was low in Vitamin D at time of surgery and levels are now fine. My NUT asked me if I was taking extra Vitamin D supplements, I said I just spent more time in the sun, which is true. I didn't tell her that I wasn't taking Vitamins, but my Gp thinks that you should only take supplements for things you're deficient in. I'm happy.
  14. I tell my scales that I hate it every time the number doesn't change. Maybe it will get the message and go down, maybe not. I feel the same some days Lila. My stomach is so unpredictable. Some days I survive off water and 2 skim lattes, other days I feel like I'm constantly grazing and can't fill the void. There is no rhyme or reason for my "can't eat" days but I do know that if I have a couple in a week, I don't lose any weight. I'm in a different place to you though and I believe that my body is settling and working out where it wants to be, but I get what you're feeling.

    Early Stall? Wtf

  16. I wear black shirts to work, people keep brushing all the red hair off my shoulders and back. It is thinning all over but I don't think you can notice yet. I'm only 3.5 months though.

    Trying To Stop Losing Weight!

No worries. Not trying to fight your battles for you, just didn't realize there would be a battle to fight. Just noticed you're the same height as me, I just jumped on the scales to see 63kg. I was sleeved in August. Trust me, I'm hoping mine slows down too, but because I'm still so recently sleeved, my tummy is tiny and has had no time to give even a little stretch. Good luck.
  18. A little off topic, but hey, Lila just got this thread to its 2000th comment!!! And, to my knowledge, not a single bitchy or nasty comment in there. All you guys are great. So glad I've found you.
