Sydney Gal Waiting On Surgery.
puppyphat replied to Kelly with a belly's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A strapless bra!!! It just so happened that I had packed a convertible bra that you can remove the straps on and was a god send. It meant that I could take it off and put it on without getting the nurses to take off the drip. I can't stand not having a bra on when I'm up and about, but was more comfortable sleeping without it. I was on the drip for 5 days. -
And how long does the 3 week stall last? I haven'tlost anything in the last 45 minutes and I'm worried I've failed!!! I know that I can't drink fizzy drinks, but if I wait til my vodka and redbull goes flat, that will be ok right? And I also ate a KFC family feast for dinner and I'm worried I've stretched my sleeve, how can I tell?

I couldn't understand the "reversibility" of the band, like "ah, this skinny thing isn't really for me... I think I liked being fat and unhealthy better. Take it out!" Why would reversibility be a good thing unless there was a high rate of revision caused by complications? Bypass and DS were too extreme.

I need to whine - dress sizes
puppyphat replied to thehappycat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The smaller you are, the quicker you change sizes. Ie: it will take a lot of lbs lost to get from 20 to 18, but it will only take a few to go from a 10 to an 8 and then before you know it, you're in a 6. -
I have no idea why the band is even offered anymore. It seems barbaric to me. The fact that its reversible is a big selling point for it, but if it was successful, who would want to reverse it? Went to my clinic today and the people that were banded the same time I was sleeved are either at the same weight or more than at the time of surgery and have been making visits every month for adjustments. I'm at goal and getting on with life while those poor fools have got years of finding the "sweet spot" ahead of them.

Just saw my NUT for my 6month visit. Waiting to see the psych and the surgeon, but receptionist and dietician were floored with how much weight I've lost. Was 56kg on their scales and told the nut that yesterday I ate a snack size bag of popcorn, 1 lamb cutlet, a tablespoon of sweet potato, 1/2 cup of green salad, 4 prawns and 1/2 a slice of Black Forest cake. She said that its great that I don't need to feel guilty about eating "special occasion" food and to go for it, but only on special occasions. She asked if I'm still actively trying to lose weight, and you know, I had to think about it. I am not trying to stop losing, but obviously, if I'm eating cake, I'm not going too crazy trying to lose. I'm only low in vitamin d at the moment so need to get more sun. I'll keep you updated if anything fun or interesting happens with the psych or the surgeon, but so far, its all good.

Before 104kg 6 months post op 56kg -
Hhmmmm.... You guys all keep your scales in the bathroom? I keep mine next to the fridge, in the kitchen. I jump on the scales every time I go to the fridge or pantry and then decide wether I should eat anything or not. My scales have a name, its "I-hate-you" because I call it that every time I see the same number or god forbid, an increase.

I used to blitz a chocolate shake with a coffee shot and crushed ice to make an iced mocha. Great for if you need a bit of substance. Kelli, doesn't it seem like such a long time ago? The last 6 months have just flown!!!

Implants or breast reduction?
puppyphat replied to puppyphat's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Thanks heaps. Do you mind me asking how much? I'm in Australia so will get prices over here, but still interesting to know what everybody else will pay. Implants alone cost about $12,000 here or $4,000 in Thailand, plus airfares. -
to mosh or not to mosh

I played a full day of paintball 2 weeks post op. I was struggling, especially from not eating, but I was fine. -
Implants or breast reduction?
puppyphat replied to puppyphat's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'll have to look into a lift. I think I would need a lift and implants at if they were to remove all the excess skin alone, there would be nothing at all left. -
Any potential sleevers in Perth?
puppyphat replied to Sunette's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Perth is the capital of Western Australia. I'm in Sydney, so no help for you at the moment, but I'm actually looking into moving to Albany sometime this year. -
Sarah, you said that you have lost 10kg in the last 4 months. Had you not had the surgery, how much would you have gained in that time? Not only have you prevented getting heavier, but you have lost 10kg!!! I know that this seems slow compared to some other losers here, but look around the whole forum and you'll find many many people just the same as you. Sounds like a good deal that you're getting at the gym. A PT is a great place to start, and fab that you won't have to pay for the first few sessions. I know the little bowls you're talking about, what are you filling them with? A full bowl of rice is different to a full bowl of chicken mince, which is different to salad. It's hard to estimate how much I would be able to eat without knowing what. I have a lot of trouble with rice, Pasta and potato. I could eat 2 tablespoons of rice, get the hiccups, have a runny nose, get a slimy throat and be very uncomfortable for 2 hours. If it was a nice chicken casserole that had been slow cooked with sauce, I could probably manage most of one bowl, over an hour or so. Salad is hit and miss. Carrots are in with the rice and pasta, but tomato is no problem. As for the sweets, I find myself buying them and really wanting them, but not being satisfied by them. I don't enjoy eating them, but still try. I find savoury food much more satisfying. I just have to make my head catch up to my body and make it understand that chocolate will no longer act as an emotional bandaid and I will not get any satisfaction from eating it.

what is the best birth control method

After seeing that 1 pecan pie was almost 6000kj yesterday, I bypassed the cafe and went to Woolies and bought some plums. I used to have 2 HUGE plum trees in my backyard when I was growing up and every year the trees would break their branches with the amount of fruit on them. We had 1 type that was great for eating and another type that was sour that we stewed. We had plums all year round. So I bought 6 mid sized dapple dandy plums and over the course of the day, ate all 6. My tummy was so noisy last night I'm sure the neighbours could hear it. I can tell you that I had the best, natural detox last night (tmi?) and literally lost 1kg between yesterday and today. Long story short... It took me 3 weeks to have a bm post op, so if anybody is struggling, rather than drinking GROSE prune juice, eat the plums. If you're on purée or mushie stages, stew them first in some Water until they are super soft. It works. Promise. So glad I walked past the cakes.

puppyphat replied to Ontheroadtoslim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to get a runny nose and sneeze when I was full, I'm 6months out now and I can't remember when it stopped. I still get the hiccups when its time to stop. -

2nd best weight loss tool is my boxer dog x border collie puppy that would dig a hole big enough for my house to subside into if I don't take her for a 2 mile walk each day.
