Oclinic is in crows nest and I originally wanted the band. It was mainly the aftercare with the dietitians and psychologists that swayed me then when I switched to wanting the sleeve, trusted him as he has only had one complication with it and no1 has ever died as his patient. It was $5000 total for surgeon, assistant surgeon, anaesthitist, and all aftercare. Each to their own though. Will not try to sway you either way. Every1 believes they have the best surgeon and so they should. You need to be able to trust whoever you choose.

Sueoco, our stats are so similar!!! I just joined a gym on Friday but haven't been yet. Lol. Old habits die hard. I bet any money my body fat percentage hasn't changed a bit.

So unmotivated today and have no energy!!! Had a massive fat day yesterday, had a nandos mini pita for lunch and nachos with corn chips and sour cream for dinner. Now I feel like rubbish. Yeah, I had protein and pre op, that would have been a really good day. My body is telling me that it doesn't like fast food now and this, I guess, is good. Just want to stop feeling crappy. Oh, and under 75kgs. Woohoo.

I'm exactly the same as shell. And I also get the hiccups, or start to burp, or get a runny nose, or sneeze. Yeah I know. I'm weird. Even my dr said so.

Hahaha. My chemist is going to think I have a MASSIVE problem buying a truck load of anusol to tighten up my saggy bits. Lol.

Won't be long shell. I can't believe how fast the weight is coming off. I still catch myself thinking I hope I don't put it back on, but I can't and dammit, I absoloutly WON'T!!! I joined the gym today. And I'm going to go. I'm going to be a success story by Christmas!!! I just can't wait. I'm in love with my sleeve. I can see the scale moving, I can see smaller sized clothes fitting me, but I still can't see the difference in the mirror. Naked or all dressed up or even just in work clothes, everybody is commenting, but I just can't see it. Anybody else?

Lol, I do the same thing with checking the labels. Surely I can't fit into size 14 jeans, let alone size 12 work pants. THIS IS CRAZY!!!

Thats so cheap for the Atkins shakes. In Australia they are $4 each or you can get them 3 for $9 when they are on special. I don't know about the states, but here, the powders are far more economical.

Off topic: I love your papillon!!! I hope it is one and I'm not offending you. I had one that looked just like it when I was very little. She was very dear.

Oh Lila, I really wish life would cut you some slack. My 5 year old had aspiration pneumonia this year and that was really horrible, even without having just had 2 rounds of surgery. I really hope your surgeon is taking good care of you and that the staff at the public hospital are treating you well. Try to keep positive and look at the complications groups and all the people that have come out the other side and don't at all regret having the surgery. Best wishes.

I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!! Went to max brenner today for coffee with a friend and a catch up. I ordered a Mexican spiced hot chocolate and a chocolate dip which is just melted chocolate. I had less than 1/4 of the hot chocolate and less than a teaspoon of the chocolate dip. I had both of them infront of me for more than an hour and didn't feel tempted to eat or drink any more. I liked what I had, stopped when I wanted to and had absoloutly no desire to have any more. I love my sleeve.

Hehehe. I passed out and found myself on the bathroom floor taking off my Steri strips. Lol. I feel like a goose now, but I really truly thought that when I took them off, all my insides would pour out of that tiny little hole.

Are you using your phone or computer? On my phone, I go to "forums" then scroll down to "local gastric sleeve support groups", then "Australian vsg support" once there, scroll down the the thread "attention Australian sleevers" Or, go to current threads, and scroll down until you find us. We are usually in the first couple of pages this time of night.

I was sleeved by him 5 weeks ago. Pain was bearable. After day 2 I was only taking Panadol and took nothing after discharge on day 5. Nausea only for the first 2 days and I put that solely down to the painkillers because as soon as I stopped them, I stopped feeling sick. I was anxious, but I knew I was doing the right thing. I made a will, gave my parents the details of my life insurance and super and just went for it. I took 10 days off work and was back to full duties as a bar tender in a leagues club straight away. No dramas. I can't remember the other questions, but I'd very strongly recommend the mater hospital. They were all AMAZING!!! I feel normal now. I still have 3 weeks left of soft foods then onto full solids, but I have heaps of energy, I feel amazing 2 months ago I was a size 18. Today I bought a pair of size 12 work pants that fit me fantastically. Good luck.

Shell you look amazing!!!! What a difference!!! And congrats on the promotion. I can so relate to the massive boost in confidence. NSV TODAY!!!! My size 16 work pants were swimming on me. They were target brand, but I had a pair of Kmart ones that fitted better, they were 16 too. I went to target today to get the same style of pants in a 14 as they were pretty comfy and a good style. I work with my sister and she came with me into the change room. She grabbed a size 12 and a 10. I tried on the 14 and it fitter ok. It was a little loose around the waist, but didn't fall off my hips like the 16 did. My sister looked amazing in the 10 and gave me the 12 saying just try it. And guess what!!!! IM WEARING SIZE 12 WORK PANTS!!!!!

Thank goodness it's not just me. I make something, then completely lose interest in eating it. I'm glad I'm no longer grazing all day, but I do have to force myself to eat.

Apparently emu bacon was served at bacon fest 2008, however is not readily available (getting back towards the original topic)
-
As far as I'm aware, we are the only country that has no issue with eating the animals on the national coat of arms. The kangaroo and the emu. Lol. Something to be proud of.

I used to only feed roo to the dogs until I realized how high in protein and low in fat it was. It's amazing. Great in pies. The closest thing to compare it to would be venison, I think.

I'm amazed at how much some of you can eat in a day. My fridge is so full of half things that there's no room for new things. Ie: 1/2 an Atkins shake, 1/2 a small tin of tuna, 1/2 an individual Philadelphia pack, 1/2 an apple and berry purée, etc. this is what I ate today. Breakfast: 1/2 small bottle of pineapple juice Snack: other 1/2 of the juice Lunch: 2 small pieces of smoked salmon and 1 slice of Swiss cheese Snack: small decaf skim latte Dinner: 1/2 an Atkins shake I manage about 1-1.5L of Water a day, but if I force myself to eat any more, I know I'll bring it up. I am 5 weeks post op tomorrow and am just starting week 2 of 4 weeks soft food. I know I'm not getting all my Protein, so save that bit, I just can't physically fit anymore in. Even the shakes are hard to finish. I'm covered from head to toe in big yellow and purple bruises from paintball last week and have been working nightshift this week. My dear younger sister kindly mentioned that with the dark circles under my eyes, all the bruises and the rapid weight loss, people at work are going to think I have cancer. Her way of kindly telling me I look terminally ill, but she also added "but at least you look skinnier".
