I got one on my hip, then 3 months later fell pregnant, it now looks like a big green sneeze. Thank goodness I can cover it. Losing weight has not improved it. I also have 1 on my ankle that I for when I was fat and it hasn't changed at all.

Oh my kayargh, that's horrible. Please don't believe that any man, or person for that matter, that speaks to you like that is worth any of your time or attention. When my daughter was little and easily manipulated, she would come home from her dads house with a new insult every week. "Mummy, if you get any fatter, you'll have to wear bed sheets to work","when you get too fat for those clothes, you can give them to the elephants at the circus to play dress ups", etc. I knew that was what her dad thought, I was a super skinny size 10 when I left him (also pregnant, so put on a lot of weight). But to hear it come from her mouth as if they were her own opinions was heartbreaking. You are not what they say, nothing even close. You are wonderful and I'm sure a very caring and loving mother who wants to set the best example for her girls by not being obese and teaching them healthy habits like walking to school. Anything that horrible and nasty has come from a very bitter, cold person, and it takes a lot of energy to be that mean. Your best revenge is to carry on, be a great mum, lose weight, become a yummy mummy and keep areho£es like that in your past where they belong.

Pre sleeve, when I was feeling crappy, upset or depressed, I'd eat and eat and eat until I felt crappy, depressed and upset about what I'd just eaten and how fat I am. Now, I go into shops and try in clothes. I know it sounds dumb and I did not spend a cent, but I made myself feel good by pulling those size 10 pants straight up without the need to wiggle. I tried on jeans and tops and dresses and the woman thought I was mental, but I don't care. I put everything back where I got it. It made me feel good. And I'm not embarrassed about carrying around a coat hanger with a bright yellow 18 on it, trying to hide it so nobody sees. I don't care who sees my brown 10 coat hanger. Nobody else gets it. Even if you guys don't either, I know you won't judge. Still can't see a change in my image though, even in pictures. I guess it will come though.

You inspired me Kelliv. I finally put up a profile pic. This is me today trying on size 10 work pants in target. What do you think? A bit baggy? The size 8 were way too small. I'm in between sizes again. Argh!

I know, I had it on iq and hadn't watched it yet. Watched both episodes today. :'(

I find that if I eat any carbs with a meal, I can only fit 1/2 as much as I would normally get. Even tortilla wraps make me bloated. Carrots are also something I can't eat much of. And I'm the same with "whole" pieces of meat. It's much easier to eat mince. I'm 10 weeks out. To be honest, I'm not getting anywhere near my protein goals. This was my days food today. 1 scrambled egg, 1 small skim latte, 1/2 cup of Bolognese sauce with turkey mince, and about 600ml of water. Some days, I seriously forget to eat. Luckily today is not typical.

I know that cancer is never funny and I have the most sympathy for all those suffering with it.... But, today my sister, who works with me, let me in on a rumour going around about me. Apparently, I have cancer. I have lost a lot of weight, I had time off work for an unspecified surgery, I'm eating tiny amounts of healthy foods and eating bad foods makes me physically sick. Add to this my exacerbated moodiness (this was news to me), and frequently complaining of fatigue (this is because I have just walked the dog 3km, done a pump class at the gym, then worked a 10hr day) and the only possible explanation is that I'm dying and everybody should be nice to me. This is how gossip works amongst 100+ mostly women with too much time on their hands.

9 weeks out and just hit the 60s!!! 69.7kg on the scales this morning and am cheering. More than 20kgs lost since seeing the surgeon in July. I'm not a fast loser, but I'm happy. I love grabbing size 12s off the rack knowing they'll fit, and seeing that I could probably get away with some size 10 tops soon. I like tight jeans and tops because of the compression effect. Don't like the saggy skin. Healthy weight range is 64kg and I hope to be there by my next dr visit end of November. My goal is 60kg. I hope I can get there by Christmas. Will post pics once I get to healthy BMI.

Oh, and I cheated on the 2 week optifast, but when I did, it was with an optifast bar. The berry one and the chocolate ones are great. That meant that some days I was having 2 shakes, a soup and a bar but I figured that was safer than a mars bar. I only had to do it once or twice in the 2 weeks, but the dietician said it was ok.
-
Trust me Scott, after the hunger pains and headaches of day 3, you just stop being hungry. Just get through the first 3 days without cheating and ketosis will kick in and the 2 weeks will be a breeze. If you cheat in the first couple of days it will just prolong your body's adjustment. Going to bed is a great idea. Stay strong. Only 13 days to go.

To all the newbies or those recently sleeved, if you're looking forward to a meal (not hungry, just can't wait to enjoy it) do not eat it watching Jamie Oliver or Huey or cake boss. The rules of eating slowly go out the window and what was that about chewing? Learn from my mistakes. I should have watched Brynne. That shows so boring it would have given me no option but to focus on taking small bites and chewing very very well.

Off topic a little, but.... I ate too much!!! I've had 1 vomiting episode since surgery and I was hoping to avoid all future episodes. I feel so full and uncomfortable, can't stop burping. I haven't got the stabbing shoulder pain that I had last time, but still fell very stuffed. I don't want to drink anything, has anybody got some quick fixes, other than bringing all that protein up. And FYI, I got this full by eating my dinner while watching Jamie Oliver and eating WAY too fast. I only ate 1 chicken wing and 2 pieces of broccoli.

Sleeved Messed Up My Mirena!
puppyphat replied to samomom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the implanon for 6 months before surgery. Had no bleeding prior to surgery, light bleeding and spotting for about a month post op, then back to nothing ever. Your body just needs time to adjust. Be patient. -
8 weeks out and ate 6 hot chips or French fries with my chicken breast. Made me so uncomfortable and sore for about 45mins until I finally threw it all back up. My mouth was full of slime and my tummy was cramping like crazy. First vomiting experience post sleeve. Will never eat hot chips again!!!!

My Teenage Daughter Is Jealous
puppyphat replied to jennrus's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My 6 year old daughter has told me more than once to keep my big clothes so that she can wear them when she grows up. I've told her that she will never fit into my old clothes and they will be very unfashionable by the time she is my age. I never want her to think my morbid obesity was normal or acceptable, but I don't want to obsess about the importance of getting or staying skinny. Daughters are so impressionable and it's hard to know the right thinks to say. Good luck with your daughter. -
Psoriasis Reduction Or Remission After Sleeve?
puppyphat replied to COsleeveDude's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I suffered from really bad acne, haven't had a break out since 2 weeks post op and my skin is so smooth and clear. Not a blemish or spot in site. -
Hi all. I've been quiet too of late. I work in the food and beverage dept of a leagues club and you can imagine how busy I've been leading up to last night. Plus school holidays etc. did you know it's only 85 more sleeps until Christmas? Neither did I until at 6 am I was woken up and informed. *groan* Weight has been steady, not stalled, just coming off very slowly. Joined the gym and realised that you have to actually GO to get the benefits of it. I'm sitting at about 73ish kg ATM, surgery weight was 86 6weeks ago. I know I had less to lose and I'm happy with what I've lost, but I still can't see a difference in the mirror, and I'm hearing all these big numbers, which I'm jealous of. 10kgs until I'm in the healthy weight range, although I'd like to lose 15 more. I traded in my old size 16 work shirts for size 12 which is a good thing, another NSV I guess. Still have 2 more weeks of soft foods before I'm on full solids. I can eat 1 chicken tenderloin with a bit of low fat dressing and that's about it. I'm stuffed. Still struggle to finish an Optifast shake or bar. Drink at least 1L of Water a day and have had the swisse hair skin and nails Vitamins since before surgery, but they are HUGE so haven't started taking them yet. I take a nexium everyday, and can really tell the days I've forgotten it. Acid feels exactly like hunger. Will keep taking it. That's about it for me. Hope every1 is well and I'm still thinking of Lila.

What did everybody eat today? I'm 6 weeks post op and running out of ideas. Breakfast: 250ml water and a nexium tablet Morning tea: decaf skim latte 250ml Lunch: 1/2 a toasted egg and cheese sandwich on brown bread Afternoon tea: nothing, was still full from lunch Dinner: other 1/2 of the toasted sandwich from lunch I sip water all day and probably get about 1 to 1.5 litres a day, I just cannot fit much food at all. I was really bad today and didn't have a protein shake, which I normally do, but was too full from the sandwich.

Some people may not see this as a good thing, but I was on time for my appt, but had to wait 20mins while the surgeon saw all the follow up patients that came after me so that he could give me all the time I needed to ask any questions and feel like I got answers in detail. He didn't like to keep the others waiting. I was in with him for well over an hour and never felt rushed or pressured or felt like any of my questions were silly. Now, as a post op, I appreciate not being made to wait more than an hour as he gives the same courtesy to other pre-ops. Does that make sense?

He operates out of the mater, where I went, which is more like a hotel, the sann and concord hospitals. Concord emergency is where I have to go if I have an emergency, which is a fair way from baulkham hills where I live, but I felt comfortable with them. I had my surgery 6 weeks ago and am 2 weeks into soft foods, 2 weeks to go until I'm on full solids. No complications or dramas of any kind. 5 days in hospital, no pain meds at all after I left. I take a nexium each day as the pathologist said my stomach was quite inflamed.
