My doc suggested drinking something hot first thing in the morning...that helps other drinks go down for me, but I'm the same...I rarely eat before 11 or so...
-
Yeah, I had the .5 taken out the very next morning..he also took another .5, as I was increadibly inflamed from the entire ordeal...I felt tons better by that evening...stayed on liquids a couple days...back to business as usual now
-
Got my first fill in 3 months today...it was only .5 cc, however, I have barely been able to drink anything, feel pretty uncomfortable...I don't know if maybe I just need to give it a day, or get it taken out...I'm wondering if it's just been such a long time that my body needs to adjust???

sooo...just went shopping...went from a 26 to a 14/16-18/20shirt...from 26 to 22 pants ...I actually bought a few things from Old Navy!! Haven't shopped for myself in there in over 10 yrs!!

ValleyGirlRN replied to Domika03's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First of all, are you getting enough calories in?? If not, your body may be in starvation mode, and holding on to everything....its an ebb an flow..i've never been a 2lb/wk person..always 6lbs one week, none the next type...lol -

Does Anyone Still Take Your Vitamins?
ValleyGirlRN replied to hopingtobebandedsoon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take mine everyday...It's essential, as I couldn't possibly get it all in any other way...I also get in at least a protein combo shake in (2%milk, banana, eas powder, 1tablespoon pnut butter) a day... -
I agree...this doc is off his rocker, and actually encouraging an unhealthy mentality towards losing this weight...the weight you've lost so far is more than enough...everyone is different, don't be hard on yourself, your doing wonderfully...don't let that $&&&$ get you down, girl
-
LOL..I used to do the same...was too worn out from grocery shopping to bother with cooking dinner!!

The Psychology Of Size

I can so relate!! I still have the 'hmmm...am I going to fit in this chair??' and the 'no way is this going to fit...' moments in my head...I know I have a long way to go, hoping my head can keep up!! -

Don't Weigh Myself?!?!?!?!?!
ValleyGirlRN replied to melissamiranda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm also a daily weigh-er...every day after I wake up and pee..I'm working nightshift right now, so that can mean in the afternoon or in the morning...that being said, I don't give myself a hard time if I'm up or down by a couple of pounds, as I realize this is normal...It's just my way of remaining accountable for what I put in my mouth... -
It is a HUGE adjustment, so many things that will change different aspects of your life...It does get better...that's awesome that you've come to these realizations...I was the same...watching others eat the same portions I used to gets me everytime, I'm floored at the excessive amount of food I used to consume...also, about a monthout started noticing I was sad, kinda down, in a funk...I realized that the awesome feeling I used to get from pigging out, would never be felt like that again...it was a sense of loss...I allowed myself a day to grieve, and then moved along...I'm loving the changes in my everyday life, the extra energy, my body's NEED for exercise, the dropping of pounds, overall sense of well being...it was a great choice for me...Do they offer support groups in your area? That may be of great help to you...

Let's Share "i Love My Band" Moments
ValleyGirlRN replied to JennyBee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everytime I step on the scale and see a lower number, I have that moment...lol...I personally enjoy thefreedom from food...I truly eat to live now, instead of having food be the center of my world!!! -
I was banded in May, and have attempted eggs on so many different levels cooked so many different ways...to no avail...I just can't tolerate them for some reason...Salad?? I can eat it for every meal, every day if I wanted...so weird lol...

it is awesome, post band...when you figure out that all those 'cravings' aren't necessarily an issue, as your appetite is pretty limited...it's great -
