  1. Call your doctor's office. I was required to take a sleep apnea test but since we are only in January I had to meet my deductible and pay 20% out of pocket ( $1,700). I spoke to the bariatric coordinator and told her to forget it (after 6 long months and various appointments). Instead of letting the file be closed we agreed to put it through without the test. Low and behold, I got a call the next day saying I was approved. I scheduled my surgery for February 14. So definitely call your doctor's office. At this point I feel many of them have a rapport with the insurance companies.
  2. I have been thick/chunky my whole life and have always been ok with it. I am currently at my highest weight (without being pregnant) and am tired. There are so many stigmas that cone with being obese. If you are in a bad mood people attribute it to fatness. If you are single, people assume you can't find a man because you are fat. If you are no nonsense, you are a fat b***h... I am tired of being all those things. I am ready to be the skinny b***h!!! February 14th baby

    February sleever?

February 14th.. Happy Valentines Day to me:)
  4. This is definitely a great decision and you are doing it at a perfect age. I am 43 and will tell you it gets tougher to lose the weight after 40. Good luck and stay motivated. The process can be long and cumbersome but worth it. After 6 long months In this process i got approved yesterday and I scheduled my surgery for February 14 Happy Valentines day to me... What better way for me to show myself love:)

  6. So I got a call from the surgery coordinator telling me I was approved. After 6 long months, so many different appointments and a mixture of emotions.. I am approved. I scheduled my surgery for February 14th.. It's ok because I don't have a Valentine but I'm sure I will have plenty after the procedure????. Now I need some if you inspirational people to convince me that everything will be ok and that this is a great decision.... Helllppp
  7. Ok, So I had my consultation today to discuss and get details on the surgery. How I went from that to booking my surgery for July 6th is beyond me. I want the ugly truth.. the good, the bad, the challenges. What foods are the worst for you? Can I drink coffee? Wine? The Dr. said I would probably have trouble eating rice and bread... is this true? I want to hear from fellow bandees because Drs want to get paid so they will give you the pros and cons but I want to hear it from those that have been there. Thanks.
