It's awesome. I've been wanting to document my bumpy journey of weight loss, but just didn't know where to start or even where to go. I was banded on March 12th, and so far I have lost 17 pounds. Most of it was lost during the liquid stage and once I went on solids, that's it...neither the scale nor the inches have dropped. I have to wait until May 16th for my first fill and until then I promised myself I would do everything in my power to lose some more wieght. Right now I am concentrating on going from 245 to 240. I will set my goals at 5 pound increments as opposed to 100lbs like I always do, and always fail. I have purchased an elliptical and have done cardo 3 times a week. I have also gone to the gym and donecircuit training 2 a week. However, my weight has not moved. There is no way that uscle has taken over the fat yet because there hasn't been enough time...So, i joined weight watchers to control the amount of food I eat (there is no way I can count calories, I just suck at it). With weight watchers I count my points and stop at the max. I've been doing this for the past 3 days. I'm going to give it my all! I will lose this damn weight! Today I ws not very good. I didn't eat enough. I only had 2 meals:breakfast and dinner. For breakfast I had milk, 2 slices of turkey, 1 slice of ww rye bread. For dinner I had 2 shrimp, some broccoli and carrots. Now I made myself a turkey sandwich with lettuce and had a protein shake. If I get hungry later I'll have some strawberries. I walked for about 20 minutes at the mall, I vaccuumed the house, and washed the floor...Tomorrow I need to get at least 20 minutes of cardio. TaTa...Until tomorrow...

Hello... Vitamin Shoppe sells the IDS 42gr for 2.99 a bottle. I usually buy a case online and it comes out to 2.45 p/ bottle. I haven't heard of the Protein puddings, I'm pretty good with my different flavoured shakes, the Isopure ALpine Punch drink and the IDS. Good Luck on your protein quest!!
-
I think the IDS dissolves perfectly with water. Another good product is Isopure Fruit Punch. I mix it with water also and it has 40 gm of protein per bottle.
-
I have tried both the Profect and the IDS (New whey). I could not stand the profect, it has a very strong taste compared to the IDS. The IDS is 42 grams of protein per tube, but I divide them into two portions and mix it with water. Vitamine Shoppe also carries the IDS in 25 gm of protein instead of the 42 gm. I prefer the 42 nd dividing it...comes out cheaper.

What's the worst thing someone said to you?

Wow...How I can relate! The first time I ever realized I was so mistreated by my father/mother/grandmothers was when I had to go for my psych evaluation. Until then I always thought that the things people said to me were because they cared, and they were just too insensitive or ignoarant to say them in a "better way" (if there is one)...And trust me...just like all of you, I have heard them all, except the pregneant one. The one that really makes me boil..."You have such a beautiful face. Why don't you lose some weight?" BECAUSE I CAN"T A$$HOLE!!! Do you think I like to pointed at and made fun of??? HELLOOOOOOOOO!! It'll all be over soon! :welldoneclap: -
Hi Sharon, I was banded by Dr. Bertha in Morristown, NJ...
-
hi everyone... I was banded on the 12th, and it was soooooooooooo much better than I expected! I had no gas pain, only pain where the port was "installed". My surgery was at 11:30 and I was home at 4:30. I walked around about ten minutes every 20 minutes (doc said walk as much as possible to get rid of the CO2). The next day I felt more pain. My body ached a bit, and I couldn't get out of bed on my own. My adbominal muscles were screaming. But...it's now day 5 and I went shopping and helped my BF shovel snow... Idea...find something to keep you busy so you keep your mind off the food (laundry, drawig, painting, online chatting...etc) It really helps. I hope you all have a smooth journey like mine... Hugs

I was banded on Monday. I have now transitioned to a full liquid diet (V8, Cream Soups, etc.). My problem is I hav no amounts for the liquid intake. I read some where it should be 100ml per meal which is about 1/4 cup. I have my Protein Drinks in between meals, but at night I'm dying of hunger. Is this the right amount? Please help! :help: Michelle

My lapband surgery was on Monday, March 12, by Dr. Bertha in NJ. I had a bit of shoulder discomfort, nothing unbearable. What really hurts is the port. I feel like I have a cat claw stuck to my diaphram muscle, and it's continuously pulling on it. The ice pack realllllllyyyyyyy helps! I think the worst is now gone and the port will get better and better as days go by...I can't wait to fully start my new journey. This is going to be such a wonderful adventure!!! :clap2:

Hi Purple monkey! They ar great docs, you will do just fine. As for your question, ICE PACKS!!! Not only have they halped with the swelling but also numbs he area and reduces the pai tremendously. Even a shower with colder Water rather than warmer has helped soothe the area. On the 4th and 5th day I could feel the "battle wounds" healing because they started to "tickle" or itch. That's when you know there are scabs starting to form, and the ice packs have also helped with that, because it justs numbs it. Hope this helps! Good Luck!!

Hi everyone!!! Thanks for all the support... Magnolia...the port is the one that caused pain on GC53 after stretching. It should be under your diaphram on the left side of your tummy. You should thank all the angels for not having that pain. It basically paralyzes me. I am feeling sooooooooooooooo much better today. I even had a Protein Shake and some mushroom Soup, all 4 tbsp of it and was STUFFED!!! This is wonderful! Once again thank you for all you "hellos" Michelle
