    checking in at........ 235!!!!!! i made my new goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think it helped that i was on liquids for couple days because i got a fill on friday! i really thought i wasn't going to make it because i was at 236 for a couple days... but this morning.... 235!! i literally did a 'woohooo!' in my PJs!! LOL i love these challenges... it really makes me work harder! thanks for your hard work with the spreadsheet and all! and to everyone that participated... GREAT JOB!!!!

  6. i just wanted to share something i realized... since the end of november (around my birthday), i had been starting to eat badly. things that i knew i could eat more of (regardless of the band) and a lot of it. it started with, "oh, its my birthday today... its ok" and "oh, its thanksgiving..." and "for the sake of the holidays... " and little by little, i gained a few pounds and, before i knew it... i was eating crappy and feeling just as bad. not just physically... but emotionally too! but january 1... i pledged to get back on track and i have been. it hasn't even been that hard to get back into it. so after taking a break from being healthy... and returning to being healthy.... here is what i wanted to share... I'd forgotten how GOOD it feels to be healthy (and losing!)! and.... Breaks are overrated! so... if you're struggling because you've lost that momentum you had when you started... you can do it!!! all december, i struggled to get back on track.. but then i realized... mentally, i had to be there. i couldn't do it because i was stressed... it made it worse. so i gave myself until dec 31, knowing that january 1 was a new start and mentally, i was ready to be back. and it FEELS SO MUCH BETTER!!! no cookie, cake, Pasta or anything feels as good as seeing a pound less on the scale!!!! seriously... i've lost what i gained, plus an extra 2 pounds down... and i feel better than i did eating the 'junk food'...
  7. Thanks to everyone for sharing! Its great to know I wasn't the only one struggling through these first "banded holidays" . Congrats to all those that jumped back on the bandwagon... those few pounds that were gained come off a lot faster than u think and you will be back to losing! Let's keep it going!

    Happy 2013 Challenge!!

    i checked in on tuesday at 241.. but i'm actually checking in again... at 239!!! i hit this month's goal already... SOOOO... i'd like to change my original goal to 235... i need to push myself for this one! great job, everyone!
  12. Oh I wear mine all the time. I was banded July 2012. I didn't wear it for a few weeks because I was scared of messing up my incisions, but it was fine once I felt they were completely healed. It hasn't affected my port or anything at all. I use the shapeware because it gives me a nice shape and it helps with the flabby skin that's developing as I lose :-P

I used to hang out on these boards a lot and I think that really helped keep me focused, so now i'm back and hoping this will help me refocus and stay focused.   15. Great stuff people have written here... It's so true, you have to go thru a time of "mourning" your break up with food. We all got to where we were because of the bad relationship and ADDICTION to food. So know what u r feeling, we have all felt at some point. I went thru times of crying and dispair and anger. But it went away. Food lost te battle. And now, I look back and I can't even remember those times becaus how great I feel now is so much stronger! Think about all te great things u will be doing when u lose weight! The clothes! Go window shopping for things u will wear! U will feel better soon...hang in there! Saying a little prayer for u! Feel free to MSG me anytime!

    Day 4 Post Surgery

    For the gas...what helped the most is walk walk walk! I thought it was crazy but it really helped! I walked every 30 min for about 10-15 minutes. Gas ex strips also helped a lot. It goes away eventually...just keep strong!

    I was on a plateau for a couple of weeks. My eating was ok an ur I hadn't gone to Zumba like I had te previous month or so. So this week I started doing Zumba again and went down 3 pounds! Maybe u need to add some exercise or modify/intensify the exercise u r doing now? Ur body might have gotten used to what ur doing so u have to give it soemthig to work on

  20. Congrats!! Praying u have a speedy recovery! Im 4 months out and it has changed my life for te better! I sometimes forget i have the band, except for when my cliyes gets big and the scale nimbers r going down! One little thing i like to share becauee it helped me... Just from experience and from others... Sometimes around 3rd or 4th day, u feel Worse emotionally for a day...just know its normal because of teh surgery and it wont last more than a day... and u can come on here and vent because we have all been thru it! Recovery isn't bad and when u start to see how ur life has changed for the better, you will know this was the best decision of ur life! Very excited for u!!
  21. Got another full about 2 weeks ago and have apps tomorrow and was gonna ask for unfill of this last fill chase I've been uncomfortable. Heartburn each night almost. Today after I had chicken for lunch around 1pm, and it felt uncomfortable, like I had too much. I probably did. Then a while later I had coffee and now about 2 hrs ago (like 5ish), I noticed the band was feeling really Wierd. Like super tight. And almost like hurting all the way thru to my back. (almost like a much lesser version of gallbladder attack pain if u have ever felt that) I can drink Water fine. When I swallow, feels like something in my throat (not when drinking, just swallowing) Help....do I have something stuck? Have u felt this? Should I call dr or wait til appt tomorrow? Ugh I dunno what to do. I even feel a little dizzy...though that might be cause I got up early and I'm super tired and just did zumba (barely made it cause I felt so crappy)
  22. update: so i went yesterday and they took out 0.5cc and i'm on liquids for 2 days so the swelling can go down. i can go back in 2 weeks if i want 0.2cc fill to where i was before this last fill i had. i might just stay where i am though. we'll see.
