I have been overweight as long as I can remember. At birth, my weight was recorded at 10 lbs. 4 oz. I saw pictures that I didn't look too bad at 4 or 5 years old. Then trouble came when I was 7. My dad left. I think that is when I turned to food for comfort. As a kid, you can't understand everything. Your dad leaves and your mom checks out emotionally, what do you do? That is all water under the bridge now. I have forgiven and let all that go. I am ready for a new start. I have so much to look forward to. I feel like i have been in prison most of my life and I am coming up for parole. My release (surgery) date is August 10, 2012. I have a wonderful husband, 4 beautiful children, and a son-in-law. I can't wait to renew my life with my family! And I want to give back. I want to be able to encourage others going through the same things that I went through. It has to start at home. I pray that God gives me strength and patience for this journey so that I can pass the knowledge and wisdom along to others.
