Hi All, it's been close to a year and a half since my lap band surgery and am a little disappointed in myself as I have only lost 17kg. I don't blame the tool I blame myself as I hadn't stuck to the rules .. I just can't seem to stick to them these days and I've just started to exercise which I'm enjoying though constantly battling with my brain with poor food / snack choices ... ( i know whats right vs wrong food choices though its a mental struggle) Anyone else going through this after having the surgery for some time now ? Di : (

Have You Reached Your Goal Weight?
Di81 replied to bandedgorJESS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have no regrets in getting the band.. I think without the band I would not have lost any weight or I would of lost some but gained it all back on or even more .. I have realized that the band is only a tool and we need to work with it .. It will not miracously shed the weight over night .. With a bit of hard work and discipline we will get to our dream bodies or close enough !! I originally had considered getting the sleeve prior to the band but after doing a lot of research about it, it was not for me .. I couldn't accept the fact that my stomach will be permanently a quarter of the size it is now..I wanted something that was reversible if complications arose and i believed eventually the stomach that has been cut and stapled will stretch again over time .. So yeah I have no regrets what so ever.. The only regret is that I wish I stuck to the rules .. Though I'm turning this round by having control in what I put in my mouth - counting calories , Protein and regular excersise .. Oh let's not forget keeping the fluids up! : ) -
Hi guys thank you for your advices and encouragement .. Sometimes it's good to hear that others are in the same boat but are doing something about it to get back on the wagon I'm going to restart counting my calories and protein and start using my "portion perfection plate" .. My dietitian had a good stern talk with me yesterday .. I'm over this body .. Time to re-establish realistic goals and believe in myself that I can do it !! All the best to you all ???Š

Hi it's been a year and a half since I had lap bad surgery and I've only lost 17kg .. Though that's without excersise and not always sticking to the rules .. For me I need to go back to basics .. I think the amount of weight u lost is the right expectations .. We are all different some will loose quicker / slower than others .. I have a friend who did the surgery with me and she lost 55kg in the first 10 months and thats due to being disciplined 95% of the time and hardcore excersise Your on the right track ! Di : )
