I'm three months post and am still having abdominal pain/discomfort almost constantly. Its a feeling somewhere between "gut rot" and extreme gas. At first I was told it was stomach acid, but I've been on two different meds and I still feel awful. I saw my surgeon who claims it has nothing to do with the surgery. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

The pain is the area around my belly button in general... so mid abdomen.

They will normally fall off in about 1 week. :0)

I didn't have one either.

Chest Pain (Surgery Today)
familygirl replied to krazykristy1998's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That stinks. But yes. I had exactly that. Try a heating pad for comfort. Do you have pain mess? -
I would have said Ketosis. It doesn't matter the amount of calories per day, it's WHAT foods you are consuming. Do u have Keto-sticks to test your urine?

Is Coffee Going To Ruin My Weight Loss?
familygirl replied to Jellyfish's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Coffee hasn't agreed with me since surgery. Booooooo. Lol. I really miss it. I would say that if you are within your calorie range you'll be fine. However, I would make certain to try and get in some additional water throughout the day, just due to coffee being a diuretic, and leaving u a bit dehydrated. We all need to find balance between depravation and indulgence. :0) Hope this helps, just a little food for thought. -

i'm not sure if that made sense, lol... i WOULD describe the pain as bad, unusual or very uncomfortable. -
Has Anyone Experienced This Type Of Pain?
familygirl replied to sharonk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't describe it as horrible... bad or "unusual". I know for sure that if i even eat 1.5 cups of food (which is almost double what is suggested( i'm very very uncomfortable. I've just been trying to listen to my body to figure out what's actually happening. I'm a hairstylist and i know that it has impacted my work... i now have an assistant, and i'm not sure how i ever lived without her, lol. -

I have very much the same thing... i'm almost certain that i don't have a slip... Let me ask you this... do you consume more that 3/4 to 1 cup when you eat? I found that if i was eating more that what was required even by a very small amount that i would get this sensation... just a suggestion. Keep me updated! -

Have always had back pain. But since the surgery (I'm almost 5 weeks post op) I have random uncomfortable back pain... mid and lower. I'm a hairdresser and it's affecting my ability to work. I wondered if it had anything to do with not wanting to use my stomach muscles for 3-4 weeks? Anybody have feedback?

How Do You Tell Someone That You're Dating That You Have A Lap Band?
familygirl replied to bluetigereyes's topic in Singles Forum
I think you will know when the time is right. I tell everyone, lol, I'm proud of my decision to take control of my life, happiness and health. :0) -
I was banded 3.5 weeks ago. I've got the worst case of tummy ache/gut rot... I really don't know how else to explain. I've only had 1/2 cup tea with milk, cottage cheese and a protein shake blended with fresh blueberries. It's not my "stomach" or a "stuck" feeling. Anybody else get this?
-
Does dairy do that?
-
No. Unfortunately. Lol. Let's just say I eat a "bit" of cheese daily. I think it all just depends on the person. I had a very yucky moment today with some potato. :0(

I was under the same impression about Advil and erosion. But I'm approx 4 weeks out as well, and I've used Advil. If there is no restriction then your ok, but if there is and the Advil sits in that small little pouch and only moves slowly, then erosion could occur. Hope u feel better soon!!!
