I Was Banded On____Since Then I Have Lost____!
Wtloss replied to JulieC74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded June 25th and have lost 38 lbs. -
Glad you are on the mend.

How's everyone doing? It is officially 8 wks for me and I am down 38 lbs. I feel so much better, however I still battle the head hunger. I've had one fill. This is all still new to me. Let's keep in touch and make our goal.

Yes. Your HR department should provide you a phone number and contact person to call for questions. You should also have a booklet or web page to go to to verify benefits.
-
Call and check each benefit. My insurance changed recently and my employer selected a plan that doesn't cover any weight loss surgery. Now my fills will not be covered. Select carefully. Do your homework

Hang in there each day gets better. Walk to get the gas out. Get rest. Knowing the pain is temporary helps. I ho E you feel better tomorrow

Best of luck to you!

Fills..? How Often?
Wtloss replied to texas-bandette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my doctor will not do a fill until at least 6 weeks post-op. And then only if you are not losing and whatever other criteria he requires. -

Sorry I accidentally hit the send buttom. I had surgery 5 wks ago and love my fitness pal program. I downloaded it to my phone and IPad and I have learned what to eat and to stay within my calories. I log my meals and exercise and it has been a real eye opener. What saved me in the early stages was having the sugar free pudding, Jello and popsicles on hand. If you're hungry have another Protein drink. I was starving and was mad as well when others were eating. My husband eats everything and has never had a wt problem! My doctor told me to have an extra Protein shake if I am hungry. Once you add food you hunger gets better, but this stage requires more preparing. I think I finally have it done after 5 weeks. Hang in there wearing clothing I haven't worn in years is way better than any food I have put in my mouth! Get up each day determined to make this work. You will have a better quality of life and you are teaching your children how to have a healthy lifestyle. Good luck

Yes, this too shall pass. Realize this is the most difficult part, just stay in your path. Today I broke 200 lbs and it's so worth it!

Awesome. How many fills have you had? What point did you have your first fill? I bet you feel fabulous

Wheres My June Bandsters??
Wtloss replied to mcuevas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone! 4 weeks for me and I have lost 13 lbs since surgery, but a total of 32 lbs since I started dieting. The weight loss has slowed down in the last few weeks. Surgery went well. I haven't had a fill and think I need one. I am fighting the hunger on a daily basis. I am walking, trying for 6 days a week, but happy if I get in 5 days when I am traveling. I get tired and even though I know I will feel better after the walk, it's hard to get going. I really had to remind myself to slow down and chew more. It's so hard to break old habits. I found myself swallowing before I realized I hadn't chewed my food enough. I am making good food choices, but still think about what I would like to eat. The best motivation right now is how my clothes are fitting. I practically have a new wardrobe of clothes I had outgrown and also clothes that aren't way to tight! It feels amazing. People have begun to notice my weight loss and i had had a few compliments I know I still have a long road, but reading this site is inspirational and really all of you motivate me to go for my goal. Thank you -
I found this recipe in the United Airlines Magazine Peanut Butter Power Balls 3 parts creamy peanut butter 4 parts in fat dry milk 1 part pure honey ( or agave nectar ). I used sugar free flavoring syrup instead. I had the Carmel on hand. Just added enough to barely moisten so I could make balls. 1. Sprinkle dry milk into peanut butter and mix. Add honey or syrup 2. Shape into bite size balls on dinner plate; place in freezer for at least 15 minutes 3. Enjoy, feel the power of healthy energy. I used 1 tablespoon as my one part. So 3 tablespoons peanut butter, 4 tablespoons dry milk. It would be dangerous to make too many! Be careful they can be addictive!

Mia 73 Congratulations. You are awesome! This didn't come easy, you are very inspiring to all of us. I am so happy for you ! Thank you for all your support on this site. We can always count on you . Whatever your doing keep it up -
This is so quick to make and taste great. Good for the soft diet stages as well 1/4 cup low fat Ricotta 1/4 teaspoon unsweetened Hershey cocoa powder 1/2 - 1 packet of Splenda, depending on how sweet you like it Mix together and enjoy 6.2 g Protein
-
I used to make it years ago, before the band, during one of many weight loss attempts. You can add a bit more cocoa if you want more chocolate. It doesn't take much.
-
Sound awesome. Now I want one. Lol
-
Should say non fat dry milk, not in fat. Lol
-
Just tell them you stopped weighing. Tell them you are just eating healthy and know in time you will meet your goal.
