Reputable Lap Band Surgeon In Socal
Wtloss replied to missmeow's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
This means that your fills during this period are covered under the global fee that the provider was paid by your insurance. They should not be charging you an additional fee. The global covers all expected follow up visits for 90 days. I would shop around its competitive out there, but ask the right question how soon can you get in if you have any problems, what kind of support system do they have, how often can you get a fill etc. -
Reputable Lap Band Surgeon In Socal

One thing to note when you have any major surgery there is a 90 day global period. What this means is that the provider s paid a global fee to include the surgery and all follow up visits during the 90 day period. -
I Figured It Out... It's Elastic's Fault!!
Wtloss replied to FLORIDAYS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am 5'8 1/2" almost the same height. I just got into 14's and a few 12 skirts. I look better in XL tops, but hope to get into Large. I cleaned out my closet of all my 16W and 2X and 1X tops. Most of these were too small on me when I started my journey. My surgery was June 25, 2012. I've had 2 fills but my wt loss has really slowed down. I loss a pound a few days later I may go up a 1/2 - 1 pound. I guess I need another fill, it's hard to know. -
Each day you will see improvements, your pain will get better, you will start having more energy and once you start having fills your appetite will decrease. This to shall pass, hang in there. I read this site for encouragement. When I read people reaching their goals I know it's reachable for me too!

I Figured It Out... It's Elastic's Fault!!
Wtloss replied to FLORIDAYS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Floridays Wow! What an exciting post. I loved reading them and could feel your excitement! I could relate to wearing black, in fact, right before my surgery my husband said to me "how could you only wear black now" you used to wear other colors. He's not overweight and never has been so he cant relate. Congratulations! -
Good luck. Take care of yourself when you get home , rest, walk and drink.

Wow you are an inspiration to me! I hope I have your success. You look amazing

I used vanilla bariatric advantage because you can change it up just by adding flavoring. Sugar free pudding butterscotch, chocolate, pistachio or jellos If you buy the protein already flavored you are limited

Mis73 is right. You must appeal with pictures and documentation of rash, discomfort, infection, etc. all the the problems you've experienced. Moles or skin tags aren't covered either, but if they are irritated because your bra or waistband rubs against it then removal becomes medically necessary. The doctor needs to document medical necessity.

My heart goes out to you! We all have our own struggles, some much harder than others. I pray you find peace within you and that you live the rest of your days one day at a time. You are very special woman, strong and a fighter! You can do this and most likely you will help others along your path as I believe this is the type of good hearted person you are. I struggle with my head telling me I want food when I am not even hungry. I try to dig down and figure out why, but honestly I am not sure why I get this way. Am I sabotaging my goals? Currently I am doing well, but I don't want to go back to regaining the weight that I've done in the past. For me I am reading, logging my food, and trying to do whatever I can to change my bad habits and live each day as a new day, a healthier way of living. Life is short and I've wasted enough days. I lived for everyone else in my lifetime and now it's my turn! It's your turn too! We all deserve a second chance! Go for it... I love you too, your words spoke to me.

I had my band placed June 25, 2012 at the age of 57. I know without the surgery I would have had a shorter life expectancy. My brother died at 62 from obesity related comorbid conditions. I only wish he could have had the band, it may have saved his life. I vowed to make changes to my life. I want to see my grandchildren grow up! I want to enjoy the years I have left. Best decision and I did it for me! I am down 41 lbs and blood sugar back to normal. Make the change, you're worth it!

JB is correct it is the employer who decides when they choose the policy if they want to cover bariatric surgery. My employer did cover it, but when we had open enrollment they changed it and no longer cover any bariatric surgery. I was extremely lucky after a year of waiting for approval I was called the middle of June to say I was approved, but I knew come July 1st my insurance was changing. I had to jump through hoops to have my surgery before the end of June. I worked too hard to kiss it all goodbye. Now I found out they won't cover my fills or any related conditions related to the band. Lets hope I won't need any revisions. You can ask your employer for the plan or group numbers and call in advance to see if they cover bariatric surgery. They will look it up and tell you over the phone. You can also request the criteria or waiting period. Check it all,out in advanced.

How (And Where) Are The June Bandsters?
Wtloss replied to sman342's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
June 25 here and down 40 lbs. I have 5 cc in my band. Let's keep losing... -
Oh my goodness I expected some hair loss post surgery (6/25/12), but in the last week it has increased a lot. I have fine hair to begin with so I am panicking. I started 5 mg of Biotin and a complete multi formula vitamin right after surgery. Both formulated for baratriac patients. At first the loss was was a bit more than normal shedding, but in the last week lots of hair coming out. This morning it was falling down my back when I got out of the shower. I noticed last week a difference in my hair thickness or I should say thinness. Any suggestions? How long will it last? Oh and I am very careful to get plenty of protein.
