Holiday Weekend.....how Did You Do???
Wtloss replied to jarchuleta's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow very impressive. I gained 4 pounds this past week. I am mad at myself, I thought I was good, but been eating almonds and I think I had too many. I stayed away from the potatoes, pie and other bad choices. I have been the same weight for a month now and then to gain is just devastating. Each pound lost is so much work. I made an appt for a fill this Thursday. I am hungry and need some assistance. I have 35 lbs to lose -

Wow Julie. This is amazing. That's a lot of weight in 4 months. Did you lose some prior to surgery? I wish I was doing that awesome. I had surgery a month before you and am down 43lbs. Are you exercising a lot? Can you tell us your typical day of eating? Great job!

Does Anyone Not Know Where Their Port Is?
Wtloss replied to thinkt2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is on the left side of my navel. It's the largest of the incisions. It is usually the spot that has the most discomfort. I hope you're doing well. -
I fly all the time for work, no issues! I carry pure protein, protein bars in my purse, nuts. I purchase Greek yogurt at the airports. Some of them carry the Fage yogurt. It's cost more than at the store, but then I think about all the junk food I used to spend money on. I am worth it!

How (And Where) Are The June Bandsters?
Wtloss replied to sman342's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Has anyone else's weight loss slowed way down? -
My port is extremely close to my skin. I've lost 44 lbs and have another 35 to loss. The area sticks out and is visible in some clothes. I can't sleep on my left side. When I turn to the left side the port protrudes a lot! It feels weird almost like it's flipping a little, so I don't do it. I asked my doctor if it was a low profile port and he said it is. I have the realize band. Does anyone have this problem? Fills are very easy because it is right there anyone could fine it.

Driver's Licence Pics- Before And After

Beautiful and amazing! -
Oh I had a hiatal hernia repair as well.

Yes! I had second thoughts as well. I thought I had lost weight on the pre op why can't I just keep it up on my own. But reality is I always gain it back and I wanted to stop this cycle and get healthy for good. I think when you have an elective procedure you do think twice...do I really need this? It's not an easy road, but each day gets better and being 40+ lbs thinner has been great. I am off all my medications. You will do great!
-
Also I want to eat frequently. I am hungry before 4 hours. I may need another file. I have 6 cc in 11 cc band.

Thank you to Lovethenewme and Missy! Great information. My weight loss has also slowed way down and I still have 30-35 lbs to go. I lost inches like you, but the scale fluctuates by a few lbs up and down. I track everything in myfitnesspal . I need to get losing again.

I Am On My 1St Day Of Pre-Op Diet!
Wtloss replied to kittylove32's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck to all of you just starting your journey. It's hard in the beginning, but really helps prepare you for whats to come and also the weight loss is a big incentive. I had surgery end of June this year and I've lost 40+ lbs and it feels amazing. I feel and look so much better already! I didn't think I would make it in the beginning, but decided to follow the rules and not cheat. I still eat mostly all protein, no bread or pasta. It's becoming routine now and I just don't have as much desire to eat the junk food. The scar on my belly is a forever reminder to stay on course. Hope your surgery goes well and your journey is successful. -
Think about trading clothes on this site. I sent mine to a friend on this site and she sent hers to another friend. No one wants to spend too much when we will be going through so many various sizes.
-
Hi Carrie. I hope you're doing well!
-
You've lost a lot of weight in a few weeks. It's normal to hit a plateau. Keep watching you protein and calorie intake and the weight will come off. Also get in some exercise. The average is 1-2 lbs a week.

Loved reading your post! 10 years, so much insight for us newbies. It just shows me that this is life long journey and not a quick fix! If we resort back to our old habits the wt will creep back. Good for you keeping it in control and getting back on track. Thank you for taking the time to share with us.
