Lower-end BMI Sleeve Surgery. Any others?
Wtloss replied to Kevineastwest's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LaBuz I had the same doubts the week before surgery in fact I almost backed out but went to my support group and they asked me if I've been able to keep the wt off successfully. My answer was no and that made up my mind. This is my chance at getting to goal and staying there. I only had one day of not feeling well the rest have been very easy. -
Congratulations! You are on the right track and good for you for keeping up with your psych appointments being proactive in our medical and mental Heath is very important. Lots of good info in this thread. Thanks for sharing

Lower-end BMI Sleeve Surgery. Any others?
Wtloss replied to Kevineastwest's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started with BMI of 33. The day of surgery my BMI was 31. I am 4 wks post op today and I only lost 7.8 lbs since surgery. I am a very slow loser, but I am following my diet plan. BMI is now 30. I was very discourage especially when reading how much others have lost, but I keep encouraging myself to follow he plan and it will work. Today I finally dropped another pound. I hope I am on a roll now. If I wasn't on this journey I know I would be at least 10-15 lbs heavier with the holidays etc. 7.8 lbs lost is better then gaining????. Thanks for everyone's support reading others struggles helps put this journey in perspective. -
What a wonderful year it's been!

Where are the November Sleevers?
Wtloss replied to ToccoraVSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@Laydee Thank you for you words of wisdom. You are right to focus on our instructions and getting well. We should celebrate each day we have. I know I have lost inches because I am in cloths I wore when I first had the band. My concern is this happened with the band I lost some weight and then it stopped. I am hoping this experience goes better. @ thank you for the menu sample. It's very helpful. I am going to set my phone timer for when to eat so I don't graze throughout the day. Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions we are all on the same journey to get healthy and live life to the fullest. Let's go and make our dreams reality! -
Where are the November Sleevers?

How are you all doing. I had surgery 11/10/14. Weight loss is very slow for me. I keep thinking I will see a big loss any day now, but doesn't appear to be happening. I did lose 11 lbs on the pre-op, but only 5 lbs since surgery. -
You will be so happy to get healthy and be able to play with your grand baby. It's hard to get on the floor to play when they are toddlers if overweight. Good for you. I have grandchildren too. So much fun! I just had surgery on the 10 th.

I just had a revision 10 days ago and I feel great. Down 17 lbs since preop. I haven't had any pain only some vomiting the day of surgery. The next day I was great. Already I feel much better than with the band. I am 60 for those of us older folks it wasn't bad. I hope to live out the rest of my years healthy. -
Hi everyone I had surgery one week ago at 60 years old. I am doing great. I was revised from band to sleeve. I read Queen of the crop's webpage and was so inspired! Thank you for sharing your journey and what a journey you've had.

Good for you!!

@msbritt. I work from home so basically a desk job. And I worked a few hours the day I came home and pretty much 8 hrs the next day. I did rest a little Saturday but I think I am very lucky, how good I feel. I hope it continues. You will do great. I think because I had band remove earlier and this was just the sleeve is why I feel so well. The band coming out for me was a bit more painful where the port was.

Alfie I almost backed out I was so worried about doing something so drastic at my age. We are the same age. I went to my support group and was encourage and literally at the last moment I went through with it. I stayed on the pre-op just in case I decided it was a go. I didn't feel well the first night. Very nauseated but it went away by the second day. The day I came home I have severe diarrhea but that is almost gone now. Get some coconut water my Nurse coordinator wanted me to drink it because of all the electrolytes. I work from home and went right back to work. I am not tired I feel so good my husband keeps saying you're doing so much better this time. I literally have no pain. No pain meds. I did have my band removed and then months later the sleeve. The pain you may experience is more from the port removal. I wish you the best. You will do well. What state are you in? I am in CA.
-
@alfie. I had my band removed and I was sleeved this past Monday. It feels so great to not have that port in me, it was uncomfortable and stuck out. I feel fantastic no pain. Not nearly as painful as the band. I don't quite understand it because it seems so much more invasive.

I was told coconut water is great especially if your losing fluids or not getting enough. It has potassium which is vital. I was told to make my first protein drink mixed with coconut water. I am post op as well.

5 days post op, serious bathroom time...
Wtloss replied to nprcowboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 days post op and yesterday the diarrhea began. Excessive. I called today and they recommended coconut water. It has a lot of potassium. I just got some and today the diarrhea is slowing down. It it continues past Friday I can take Imodium. I certainly hope it goes away. I won't be able to go anywhere lol -
