What Did I Do To Myself ?
JD7176 replied to Karrina-D's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've slimed once last week. I'm almost 4 weeks out and while gross, I can tell you I INSTANTLY felt better once it came up. I drank a glass of Water and had not waited long enough before eating and the first few bites were too fast. My NUT recommends Adolphs meat tenderizer as an emergency kit type thing. She says mix a little in water and drink if you feel food is stuck. It's supposed to help it go down...or come up lol quickly. -
Plus Size Clothing Sale In Michigan-Come Sell Come Buy!
JD7176 replied to vhinton77's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have to keep this in mind for next year. I have TONS of clothes. I'm a bit of a shopaholic. A year from now I'll have even more that are too big! -
Who got in 70g of protein today? THIS GIRL! Who got in 60oz of water today? THIS GIRL! Who KILLED their teacher demonstration today and had offers from all 4 principals? THIS GIRLLLLL! Today has been a great day! Even though I do believe I may be at the horrid 3 week stall, nothing is stopping my happiness today. I'm going out for a drink....of water! Lol

Thank you everyone! I do know which school I'm selecting. I was hoping that I received an offer from them when I went in. It just felt sooo good for everyone to think I'm awesome lol. Today was the first day that I met my water goal and exceeded my protein....just thrilled.

Post Op Nausea And Vomiting
JD7176 replied to smartypants's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was about the same as LesKra. First 24-36hrs was pure hell for me. Who knew I would die in the hospital of naseau is what I was thinking lol. At first I was throwing up stomach acid, but it turned into dry heaves. Just opening my eyes made my grab my bucket. I was given whatever meds they could give me, but nothing worked. The staff kept telling me it would pass soon....and all of a sudden it did lol. Only maybe once or twice have I felt nauseous since then. Still wouldn't change anything! -
Let me just start off by saying I love my sleeve. It hasnt been all roses, but its been good. When I do rants its all for laughs. Ok...I'm tired of cold dinner. I carefully prepare a delectable bowl of mushy stuff, dig in, and can only eat 3 spoonfuls before I have to stop. Go back, eat 3 more, stop. Now by the 3rd go round IT'S COLD! Who wants cold, mushy stuff?! Blech lol. I think I need to just make an even smaller bowl of mushy stuff. Have a good night!

I Just Wanna POOP!

My NUT recommends a mega dose of vitamin C. -
Myfitnesspal and sparkpeople phone apps both have a barcode scanner option that makes it easy to add foods. They also keep track of the foods you've eaten, so by the time I've typed "c..h..." chobani is popping up. You can also copy and paste from day to day. I know you didn't want to hear it, but it is sheer determination and motivation. There are tools that make it easier, but you just have to want to do it.

Girl! I'm 420, down from starting weight 465 and I was moving every bit around at 465 lol. The environment is very inviting and supportive. I go in Greenfield Plaza across from Northland. It's called The Bomb Fitness. Do a web search and you'll find the website.

I also had 2 bites of a beef hot dog yesterday at 18 days out. It went down ok. Like someone said, I chewed it to smithereens lol. I also had a a chicken sausage one day that I took the casing off of.

Hello all! My surgery was June 12 at Henry Ford, main campus, with Dr.Carlin. I'm a Zumba addict, so I do that a lot but we can definitely connect.
-
Thanks everyone! I avoided it the first two weeks because my doc told me to not weigh myself until my first post op appt. He told me about the weight gain first and didn't want me to get discouraged. Even now I only get on once, maybe twice a week. I've never been one to get on the scale everyday. I think I'm going to tell people my scale is broken lol.

I had extreme naseau and vomiting the first 24hrs. I thought I was going to meet my maker.... The doc and staff kept telling me it would go away and I didn't believe them. It did subside on day 2. Once home I felt mildly nauseous a day or two. By the end of week 1 I felt fantastic. Havent been sick since....well, when trying a couple new foods, but that happens.

My NUT recommends adding 100 calories for a week when you hit a stall. If it doesnt work and you're still stalled, add another 100.

I didn't know until I joined this forum, but every doc and Nut is truly different. I went for my 2 week post op yesterday and I was told I could try fruits and veggies. Especially water based fruits and veggies, like watermelon. I'm expected to be at or near full foods at 6 weeks, but I see some on full liquids for 5 weeks. All the can tell you is no..

My surgery was June 12 in Detroit with Dr. Carlin, Henry Ford Hospital. I'm doing pretty good. I go for 2 week pre-op today.

JD7176 replied to angelakay2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ditto. We were told to progress from liquid to mushies as soon as we were comfortable, but that we should definitely be to mushies by 2 week post op appt. -
Feeling Like Im Behind In The Game On Weight Loss
JD7176 replied to soon2bskinnier4685's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is different. I was sleeved on June 12th also and have lost 13lbs. Last time I checked I had NEVER lost 13lbs in 2 weeks. You just have to have faith in the process.... Keep sipping and keep walking. -
Incision Is Healing As Open Hole
JD7176 replied to missmachine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have one incision that is similar. It didn't close the way the others did. I can see some "white meat". It's not draining or anything so it'll be fine, but its going to leave much more of a scar than the others. I decided not to put anything on it (neosporin, vitamin e...) until my 2 week follow up on Tuesday. I just keep it clean and dry. -
I actually slept on my side while still in the hospital. It was a bit uncomfortable. Since I've been home (6/15) I just tried a little each night with a pillow underneath. One night I had slight reflux which may have been caused by eating to close to bedtime, but I haven't had any issues since. Last night full on stomach sleeping, no extra pillow. I am more aware when I roll and twist during the night though because the incision sites are still a little tender. Do what feels comfortable.
