JentryB2020 started following When Can I Start Soft Foods?, Soda, What Is Everybody Having For Lunch? and and 7 others
-
I was told no soda for six weeks after surgery. I had a band for six years, so I'm used to not having soda. So even though my Dr allows it, I don't drink it.

The breath test shows how many calories you burn a day on average. It's an estimate of your metabolism.

I'm released this Friday to regular foods. Just curious how long you waited for foods that I think might be painful. Did you react to them when you did? What foods are difficult, and I should wait on?

Is The Band That Bad?
JentryB2020 replied to SleeveandRNYchica's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The band was that bad for me. No matter how tight or loose it was, I vomited and choked every night. I would wake up covered it puke, I was refluxing in my sleep severely. I didn't have a slip either. I would quit eating or drinking 2 hours before bed, and it still happened. I couldn't eat much of anything, unless it was buried in sauce or gravy. I hated every minute of it. -
This diet is to shrink the liver. Cheating risks your surgery having dangerous complications, or even not being completed. Time to get serious. The post op diet is much harder, and longer time.
-
Mine was 2 weeks of protein shakes, sf jello, broth, and raw veggies.
-
I'm on soft foods. How much should I eat at each meal? What do you average. I'm worried I eat too much sometimes. I've never thrown up or had pain. Just don't want to stretch and gain.

Curious- What Is Everyone Elses Diet Post-Op?

One week clear liquids. Four full weeks of full liquids. Then regular foods. Not sure why my Dr skips the soft food phase?? -
I Love Having Water At Night Again!
JentryB2020 replied to JentryB2020's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I puked non stop though for six years. Despite not eating or drinking two hours before bed, I always woke up choking on my own vomit. I want to yell from the rooftops, "Don't get the lap band!". The pregnancy only made it much worse. It was bad for the entire six years though. I lived on greasy Mexican food covered in cheese, pasta in sauce, or anything in gravy. Healthy! Not.
