Pics Of Oversized Clothes
scorrea replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow! You look fabulous! I am going to keep some article of clothing too. I only hope I get such results as you! Great work! -
Ugh, I feel for you. That was me yesterday. It was a food type of day yesterday. I am so ashamed to say, that it did win a few times, my intake was higher than it should have been. Today was better, not perfect but better. Its also that time of the month for me.. not happy! But I know it will go away and all will be ok again. Just hang in there... we all have days!

Looks so very yummy! Thanks!

My first fill went exactly as Jen's did. I go for my second fill this coming Wednesday. Good luck!

I had my first fill last week, doc only put in 3cc and was so excited to see the results, well now I know. No restriction! Ack! I was out at a BBQ today, ate a bit more than I should, but with no problem at all. Didnt really even feel full or satisfied when I know I should have been. I know that it is common for first fills to be uneventful, but I was hoping! How long does everyone wait to get their second fill? My doc said he wants me back in 3 months, if all is well. He said he expects to see me within a month and a half, b/c he expects that the first fill was not going to be good enough. Should I wait that long?

I'm A Vomitphobe - Help!
scorrea replied to BeeBlueHeron's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am still only 7 weeks post op and I have had no vomiting issues at all. I havent had an issue being stuck yet, but hopefully when it happens I am ready for it! Dont worry! You will be ok! -
First Fill, Kind Of A Terrible Experience
scorrea replied to akurre12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a tad bit of discomfort with the first fill, but my doc too said the first is always the worst. I did not have any bruising or multiple sticks at all. I used no lidocaine or anything either. I am getting a second fill two weeks after the first b/c of no restriction. I am not sure how long other docs wait though. I hope you feel better soon! -
Well I called my doc today, I had my first fill last Wednesday and I feel no restriction. They are going to fill more next Wednesday. I am ok with that. I have to wait a week to get in, but that is fine! I am glad they arent going to make me wait longer! Whew!

Getting Fills And Going To School
scorrea replied to Erin O'Donnell's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am in NJ too and I know that is quite a drive for the fills. But the thought of just having someone that you dont know mess with your band when you like your doctor, I am not so sure of. I would still look for a doc in the area where you will be at school for emergency reasons, have a number to call or something, but I am not so sure about changing your doc completely. Good luck! -
Wishing you the best with the new dr! I had my first fill last week.. and I am on regular food and feeling no restriction, I am going to wait a few more days and then call my doc. I cannot go too long without a fill, I dont want to gain too much back!

It is hard! I havent had a stuck issue yet, so it is a constant reminder thing with me. My first day on solids after my first fill, I took a bite of steak... I felt it. I got so scared as I was in a restaurant! So afraid it was going to come back up, it didnt, but it stopped me for that night. Yet the next meal at home, after I was done eating I was back at my big bites and fast. I know I have to work on it. I think a lot do Good luck!
-
I am there too! I am not at a good restriction yet. I know this and I try my best to make good choices and keep my food intake to a minimum as much as I can. I am trying my best! I know once I get proper restriction it will be much easier! Good luck to you!

I live a few feet of a 7-11 and yes they are carboated. But the carbonation is so minute, that you hardly notice, its basically flat. Like Mis73 said, freezing kills it.

I agree with everyone. It is up to the person to find out all they can about the surgery before they had it. I also was not told clearly about a regular diet I would have to follow without help for months on end. If I could do this without problem, I wouldnt be in this place to start. However, that being said, I have gotten through this and am looking forward to using this tool that I have been given to its fullest extent! I cannot wait for the right restriction. I am just getting clear on what restriction is. I am understanding that I should not feel too hungry between meals and feel satisfied. I do not feel this at all. So at 3cc, I know I need more of a fill. I am ridding my house of all the foods that I know are too tempting to me.. like all my carby foods, they kill me!! I thought I could do this with those foods in my house, I am wrong!! Another lesson learned!

Does Anyone Else Do This?
scorrea replied to cfurrey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes! I have the same problem. I was always a "night eater" I know, its the worst! I am still having trouble with it. I try to eat a greek yogurt later in the evening, around 8ish, that helps me a bit. I think once I am filled to a good spot I am hoping this resolves some! -
I love mfp too! I always come in lower than expected calories. I just keep doing what I am doing. I have a few friends on there now and I have been realizing that they too are coming in too low most days. Sounds like you are doing ok! Keep up the good work!

I had my first fill today. I am so excited. I think I feel more excited than I did getting the band initially. I feel like this is the real start of my future. I know not to expect much restriction, but I am making a step in the right direction. I got 3cc put in, I am on a liquid diet for 24 hours and then a day of mushies, then back to regular food as I can tolerate it. on the down side.. hungry already!! but I will get through this, this part is nothing compared to the initial post op diet!

Can Anyone Else Feel There Port Hit On Their Ribs When The Move Around?
scorrea replied to 2savemylife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I sometimes have it hit too, I go to doc tomorrow myself and will ask then. I have not had a fill yet, hopefully tomorrow.. but I was wondering the same thing! -
Where Is Your Port?
scorrea replied to musicgirl713's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My port is on my upper belly towards my right side, but more centered. It is the biggest and most noticeable scar. -
Gaining Weight?!?!
scorrea replied to silly_weasel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am going through the same thing. I have gained a few pounds back since my initial loss of 10 pounds. I looked on here and realized it is quite common as I am no longer on liquids and even though I am making better food choices, it is not always perfect. Keep up the good work! It will get better! -
Nice job!! Wooohooo!!
