I did try some small amounts of soda, mostly flat but still some carbonation and felt the gas expand. I stay away now. I would rather drink something with too much sugar than risk with the carbonation. I do miss my ciders though....

Still No More Weight Loss>Discouraged
scorrea replied to Domika03's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained a bit back during my "healing" time too. I am still not losing like I think I should be, but I know it will come. Try and be patient. The waiting is the worst!! -
Mine lasted two days, left and then it came back about a week later. Weird right? Then it left after about 3 days
-
I also eat them once in a while. I did have my first stuck episode with bread the other day, but it was the heel and it was a gf loaf of bread, very thick and dry. So when and if I try again, I will be much more careful.

Fluid In The Band At The Time Of Surgery
scorrea replied to lassie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, this is one of those things that every doctor is different. My doc did not put anything in my band when I had the surgery. He told me that, I did not ask before hand. I dont think I would have even have known to ask. Its good for people to know this! -
Hi Tonyann! I also have a 14cc band. I have had two fills and have 5cc in my band. I currently am comfortable with where my restriction is. I can eat more, but rarely want to. I dont know how long this will last, I was banded on June 19th. I am almost down 20 pounds including pre op stuff total. I will want more of a fill if I see myself being hungry between meals and not getting satisfied at meal times.

"stuck Episode" Best Thing To Do Is....
scorrea replied to A New New Dawn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Most likely yes! Shame on me for trying the bread in the first place, but I was freaking out! I have such anxiety anyway and in my panicked state I grabbed whatever was at hand. Not a good idea! -
Wow, thank you for this. It has brought tears to my eyes.

I Had To Come Back To This Thread
scorrea replied to SusieSunshine's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I had the exact same problem!!! and a nice person on this thread said some wonderful things to me. Yes, there are bad things that happen to people who have this surgery, however, they are in the minority, you are having surgery.. there can be complications! Next, the stuff that will change in your life from having this surgery are astronomical! The participation in life...living long enough to see things come to frutiion! and to finally stay away from those darn negative threads. They will scare the hell out of you. You should be educated on what can happen. But if you are following directions and all goes as planned, you will be fine... as most of us are. I was scared s******s to say the least. I wanted this thing out of me so bad. Now its getting normal. I am not there yet. Sometimes I still wonder what did I do? but now I am actually losing weight on the scale.. down 3 more pounds! and its getting exciting!! Think positive and good luck!!! -
I just tried them last week myself. I like them all! I put in an order yesterday for the regular sizes. They were so different than the shakes I have had here so far. Yum!

"stuck Episode" Best Thing To Do Is....
scorrea replied to A New New Dawn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my first stuck episode recently too. Its was on a end of bread and was unpleasant to say the least! I started panicking! I thought I was to wake my husband up, I was in such a state. I drank some Water and it didnt work. I ran to the bathroom and up it came. Seemingly on its own. I dont really remember trying to get it up myself, I was so freaked. I am not looking forward to doing that again. I did drink a bit of water after my episode, as my throat was all scratchy and such from the incident. Then I just went and laid down for a while. I was fine when I woke up the following morning. I cannot wait to see the other posts here! -
I almost literally have to sit on my hands to keep away from Jersey fresh peaches, tomatoes and corn!! I know the time is ending for them.. potato chips and junk food, eh.. someone else can have them, but a ripe, delicious juicy peach... to die for!!

Today, isnt so bad. I am gloomy, like Sojourner.. the weather here is bleak too. I have gone down on the scale a bit. And I seem to be in control of my eating a bit more too. I was going to call the doc for a fill already today, but I am in control and comfortable. I havent lost any sizes yet, I am looking forward to it. I hope it will come!! I want to ride a bike again!!
-
Wow, that is really great. I have a planet fitness here too, but I wont use them. They offer great deals, but there are so many people who belong there, I cannot go there! I also suffer from agoraphobia and when I can get into a gym I need a less populous gym to join. Good luck with them though! I hear nothing but great things!!

I agree. From one addiction to another for me too... I cannot just have a little bit. "in moderation" as you stated. If I have that food in the house, it might take me a few days to eat it, but I know I will. I justify it by saying that I might as well eat it all now, b/c I will do it eventually anyway, get it out of the way! If I could do moderation, I dont think I would be in the situation I am now. This theory might work for some, but not for me. Thanks for this post, brings things into perspective for me

I had my script from my doc here in the states and it was in pill form. I did not have to crush it and had no problems swallowing it at all. I only was on it for a day though and then took tylenol in pill form for pain. Be careful and good luck!

Wish I lived closer! I am going to try my first meeting on Sept 5th.

Just Had A Consultation And Need A Buddy...jersey Shore
scorrea replied to Daisy1244's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Bandster hell is the time when you do not have good restriction yet and have to rely on willpower to stay on track. Its a tough time that most people have gone through. As for your trip, that is tough. If you dont want them to know, it will be difficult to explain. If you really dont want them to know, then I wouldnt explain to them. You can tell them something else is going on. Or take the earlier date! It was an easy recovery for me and most people on here. -
Just Had A Consultation And Need A Buddy...jersey Shore
scorrea replied to Daisy1244's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgery went smoothly. I was in the hospital for a few hours only. I arrived at 6am and left at 2pm. My pain was minimal. I barely used my pain meds. After I was on a liquid diet for a week, a mushy diet for a week and then soft foods to regular foods. Each doc is different with that though. you will have to see what your doc says about that. Only my closest friends and family know. I kept the rest to myself. And no, it does not feel anything like I am dying when I sneeze! Not at all! You can ask anything you would like, I will answer the best I can! Yes, I love my doctor. He is a great guy!
