Vera, I'm kind of in the same position as you. I went to another doctor for my 1st fill because it was cheaper than flying to Mexico (I'm a self-pay too). When the surgery was originally done, the doctor put in 3 cc's (I have the swedish band) which is typical, but when I went to the fill doctor, he was only able to pull out 1/2 cc. So I'm wondering where the other 2.5 cc's went in 2 months. I had to beg my husband for the surgery and he is supportive but reminds me that it was a huge sacrifice. It's even a sacrifice to afford the fills, so there is no way I could afford to go back into surgery to get it fixed. I'm afraid something is wrong because that is alot of cc's in 2 months. Let me know how your experience goes re: loss of cc's.

If you have the swedish band (SAGB), can you tell me how many cc's the doctor put in yours on your 1st fill? and how many cc's for each fill thereafter?

I'm looking for a fill doctor in California. I prefer Sacramento (Nor Cal), but any will do. Does anybody know any? Thank you

kiwigirl, can you tell me about your experiences with restriction with your swedish band? How many fills & how much each time, etc.? Thank you Most people seem to have the Inamed band, so there really isn't a ton of support for the swedish band (at least the websites I go on anyways).

Vera, yes it was this year (4 weeks this Saturday). I'm able to eat everything and in pretty big quantities. It makes me feel better that you were the same way. They put in 3 cc's when they did the lapband, so I thought maybe I would have restriction, but as of my 3rd week, no restriction. Do you know if they filled you with 3cc's when they put in your band? And how many cc's did you get on your 1st fill, etc.?

Another question: Does anyone know where I can get a fill in the states for my swedish band? I'm in California

I have the swedish one too. I was wondering if there have been only 1, or if there are different swedish ones. Does anyone know? I've been banded Since Dec. 6th and doing good. I've just recently been able to eat pretty much anything I want and I've noticed how well chocolate goes down, never gets stuck...bummer! Has anybody that has the swedish band had any problems at all?

Does anyone know the difference between the Inamed lapband and the swedish (Obtech) band?

I've only been banded 1 week & 1 day, but almost the whole time I've been eating solids, puddings & yogurts. The doctor told me to only be on liquids the 1st week, but didn't tell me "why". I thought since I was so hungry & my stomach could handle it, it would be ok. I since learned that I could have stretched the stitches and that later my band could have slippage or erode. Do any of you think I have already ruined my chances? The 1st week was probably the most important for healing, right? What are the chances I've already messed myself up?

I was banded 1 week ago today and the doctor said to be on liquids for 1 week, then soft foods on the 2nd week, then solids on the 3rd week. Well, I haven't been following the liquid phase because I'm still so hungry. I went straight to solids last night (only 6 days with the bad) by eating chicken and rice last night. My stomache didn't hurt or anything, just some gas. I didn't eat very much and I chewed it up really good. Do you all think it's ok to eat what I want as long as I don't over-do it and chew good? I just can't do that liquid diet & my stomach is tolerating solids already. I would love to hear some comments.
