My "thermostat's" still broke!
TD41 replied to mandymae's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hi I agree I am a year out as of Dec 28, 2012 and I stay cold all the time!!! I sleep with a heating pad at night and have to keep a sweater or layers of clothes on all the time! I would love to know what others are doing that may struggle to keep warm! TD41 -

Hi All, It has been an amazing journey with the sleeve. I cant believe I have lost over 50 lbs and in a few short weeks I will be 8 months post-op. I feel great overall but I noticed last month my tail bone started to hurt. I cant explain why but if I sit a certain way it throbs and is uncomfortable. I am not sitting around all day but would like to know if anyone has experienced this that is almost 8 months out or longer. Also a new pain entered my life this morning I have a sharp pain in my right shoulder and it hurts when I swallow. I don't know why this started today but I really need this pain to go away in my shoulder and throat. I felt good yesterday so I don't know if I slept wrong, if its gas related or something more serious. Please share if anyone has experienced achy tailbone, pain when swallowing, and shoulder pain. Thanks Be Blessed TD41

Hi I have a question. I am curious if any one crush their multivitamins and probiotic pills from bariatric advantage.... I try to chew 2 vitamins in the morning per instruction and always feel like i want to vomit when i start chewing and swallowing. I am not sure why i feel sooo nauseus when i take the vitamins. I have been sleeved since Dec 28 i havent vomited not once since i left hospital. Just curious if i will recieve same benefit crushin the pills as oppose to chewing and feeling sick every morning before i go to work.... Any advice would be great or if anyone are using these vitamins please share your experience. Thanks TD41

Hi, I completely understand im in my early40's and had surgery Dec. 28, 12! I feel fantastic just recently started working out to help tone up certain areas. I agree this tool is just a tool and we do have to be realistic about what we eat. I am so glad that I had this surgery. I am determined to keep the weight off and look forward to motivating others who maybe struggling as I once did before I finally decided enough is enough! Take care TD41

Hi, I havent posted in a while. Love my wl success. I was sleeved Dec 28, 2012 and have lost 501bs!!! I feel great and never thought i would be in the 100's in my life. I am 5'1 and weighed 221 the day of my surgery. I dont weigh myself religiously but i weighed myself 2 days ago and the scale said 171!!!!! I was thrilled to say the least! This is the best decision i could have ever made. Best of health to everyone as we continue on this lifelong journey to being healthy!!! TD41 -

sexy just curious have u tried all the foods you listed as your topic.... If so how often and do u have any side effects? I have tried to eat bread maybe 3 times and itssss awful. Have a desire for icecream/milkshake but haven't had it since the surgery. Most definitely would like a carbonated beverage but haven't had one since surgery. I am almost 3 months out! I agree you cant totally deprive yourself but u must do it in moderation!!!! I know some ppl will agree or not but we all struggle with something whether its food or not! Best of luck to everyone with their wl:) I am down 2 dress sizes and quickly approaching medium tops -
Hi, Just curious how everyone eats their meals.... Are you using adult or children utensils... I find myself at times eating to fast or too much im not sure if I should use a smaller utensil so that I am eating less food and filling up faster.... Any advice would be appreciated. Thx TD41

Hi not sure how far post op you are... I would invest in abdominal binder. It helped me a lot during the first month but I think I purchased it maybe by the 10th day after surgery(lol) Best of luck and try to take it easy TD41

I agree I find myself missing icecream and bread its so crazy. I have attemptedbread 3 times since surgery and each time I felt horrible so I have decided that I no longer will be able to have bread like I once did.... I don't crave it often but sometimes I do and now that spring/summer is on the way I am thinking about icecream and milkshakes. I haven't attempted either one not since Dec 28 2012 for fear that I will stretch my pouch. This surgery has changed my life forever but I do miss certain foods but not enough at least for now to put myself thru hours of possible tightness in my chest/ slimming/vomiting etc. Take one day at a time and keep ya head up! Stalled already?; Very irritable today; Eating mushy food
TD41 commented on BigDaddyJoe's blog entry in My journey
Hi, Dont be discouraged.... Just take one day at a time. All of us have moments when we feel down or disappointed but remember its a process and your body is healing. Kuddos on the liquid intake the food will get easier to get down as you continue to heal. Stay encouraged TD41 -
Hi, Egg salad, tunasalad, yogurt(greek) string cheese Bestof luck to you TD41

Hi Amy, Sorry you are going thru but this too shall pass.... I know it may be a bit overwhelming and scary not being able to be in control but it will get better. The first month for me was shaky, scary, and no energy no matter how much i slept. I honestly started to feel normal maybe by week 7. If possible maybe someone can help with the children until you feel stronger. My prayers are with you and may you find peace, serenity, and joy in the morning! Be blessed TD41

Hi, Trust me i am not sure why they didnt mention it but it helped me during my first month of post op. I was in so much pain everytime i moved and its hard to sleep especially if you are a side sleeper. I say invest in one just to eliminate the pain where the surgeon removes stomach. Best regards TD41

Grieving the Loss of a our Friend.
TD41 replied to courtoomp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Courtney, Thx for the thread.... Yes food is truly a comfort for alot of us. I agree some days are better than others and i truly have to take one day at a time. I struggle the most when i am not busy, I find myself wanting to eat like i use to in my former life. I cant honestly believe how all the emotions creep up and often i cant pinpoint what makes me want to snack more than i should. I am thankful that i have the sleeve but i do miss comfort foods at times. I know im not alone and I truly have to focus more on my overall health. I am not quite 3 months post op but have dropped 2sizes which i am happy about and feel more alive! I know the food demon will be apart of my life and i have to find ways to combat it in a positive way so that i dont sabatoge my progress in the present or future. Thx for listening and much continued success to all! TD41 -
congratulations...keep it up!
