i tried dannon lite and fit cherry greek yogurt today.... delicious!!! i am glad i chose it considering i have never had greek yogurt before. Its very filling but i am 4 weeks post-op.!! I was able to get most of it down but not all so i was pretty full till lunch. I love my new tummy TD41

i agree. I am four weeks out and i am on soft foods.... I had cream of wheat today for breakfast with mashed bananana. I had for lunch a cheese stick with 2 slices turkey breast. I keep thinking im going to vomit or slime havent yet. My tummy feels tight and i drink Water in between meals. This is all so surreal. I stepped on scale Monday and i am down 30lbs .... I pray my pouch is being stretched. I start burping and thats my cue to stop because i dont want to keep going. I was only able to maybe take 5-6 bites of cream of wheat and i wasnt able to finish the second piece of turkey breast so i stopped and threw it away. I feel stuffed but happy. Just wanted to share...Blessings TD41

Hi, You are not alone and like you i have not shared my wls with anyone besides my husband/daughter/ and boss who gave me her word she would not tell anyone. I had my surgery Dec 28 and have lost 26lbs as of yesterday when i stepped on the scale . I am anxious and nervous about returning to work Monday because i know someone is going to ask me have you lost weight!!! I can see it!!! because i started out as 221lbs. I plan to tell them yes i have and i decided 2013 will be the year i finally take my weight serious and focus on being healthy. I know some ppl will be supportive and their are others that will judge, question, gossip and everything else but be supportive so thats y i have chosen not to tell anyone at work or any of my family members.... I am so happy that i joined this website because you feel support, encouragement, and know that you are not alone we all are here for one reason and that is to become healthy no matter whatever avenue we chose to take the bottom line is if we truly treat our sleeve right it will do what it needs to do and we can be successful with wl for life!!! Im am so excited that i finally had the courage to do something about my weight and it feels extra terrific to see the weight coming off right before your eyes weekly if not daily!!! Blessings to you on your wl journey!!! TD41

Hello, I feel that way sometimes... I am 3 weeks out and i dont have alot of interest in drinking. Today i sipped chicken broth but not all. Its weird. I am trying to drink Protein shakes and drink Water. I return to work next Monday I just feel like im dragging. I pick up around the house but dont have alot of energy to clean like i want. I believe im ok just feel exhausted at times. Its a crazy cycle/phase but prayerfully things will get better. Its always gloomy in the winter even pre-op. Best of luck to you. I start phase 2 next Monday maybe i will feel peppier once i can try soft foods. Take Care, TD41 -
congrats and may your surgery goes well!! Keep us posted TD41

Hi I am on my 3rd week of liquid diet this week. My stage 2 phase (soft foods) starts next Monday!!! I too felt like i wanted to eat a horse 6 days post-op its normal and will pass. If the Vitamins are huge get a pill crusher or maybe you can divide the Vitamin. Reach out to your surgeons office before you crush or divide vitamin. Best of luck to you and try maybe some broth(chicken, beef) for the hunger. I was told the pains are not really hunger pains but head hunger so you think/feel hunger but it will get better. TD41

Hello everyone.... I had my surgery on Dec 28th. I am 6 days post op and literally feel like im starving. I am drinking water and getting down one protein shake but for the last 2 days hunger pains are out of this world!!! Is this normal i am scheduled to be on a liquid-diet for 3 weeks and i didnt expect to feel like im starving 6 days post op. Its hard to get down3 protein shakes because the taste isnt the greatest since i had the surgery but i am concerned for another reason. I came home sunday from the hospital not feeling the greatest but not the worst, Monday i woke up and felt like i needed to have a bm.... I took miralax to see if my bowels would move but nothing happened all day on Monday. I woke up Tuesday and the constipation was worst and i literally felt like dying considering i hadnt had a bm since last Thursday Dec 27th. I was on the toilet off and on all day straining moaning sweating and trying to push it out but nothing would come out but a small turd. I felt like i was on fire(bottom) and it hurt soooooooooooo bad. I finally called the physicians office and they suggested milk of magnesia or dulcolax. I took milk of magnesia and like anything it takes time to work thru the system and i was soooo desperate and wanted the pain in my butt to stop and to get my bowels to move because it was literally sitting on tip of my exithole(sorry for being so graphic) but i just couldnt poop. I pushed and strained all day thinking i could get it to come out one of my small incisisons started bleeding and my biggest my incision is now bruised and more painful since this fiasco with constipation. Well needless to say i thought i would help speed upthe milk of magnesium and took a stool softner(gel cap) and my lower stomach hasnt been the same. The last 2 days my lower stomach has been bubbly, churning, gassy, and i feel like i have diarhea at times but when i go to the toilet its alot of gas but it feels like im about to poop on myself. I finally had my first bmi on Wednesday at about 4am . I was scared as hell to push but i had to a little and it finally oozed out(sorry i know tmi) but i felt better and was able to finally walk straight because on Monday and Tuesday i was walking hunched over like a lil old lady due to pain and just trying to find comfort from the constipation. I am worried if i have done damage to my pouch and my biggest incision. If anyone else has had constipation problems please share and any suggestions on dealing with my hunger pains which i didnt think i would have 6 days post-op i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for listening!!! I am not having regrets just want my sleeve to work to the max and to be successful!!! Have a blessed Thursday!!!

Do I really need to go to the ER...?
TD41 replied to Keepgoing247's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree i would go to the er.... I say that because of your incision sites are oozing green puss, a fever, and feeling faint. This is something that doesnt need to be put off any longer. Its better to be safe than sorry. My prayers are with you. TD41 -
I cant believe my surgery is tomorrow!
TD41 replied to bekah_monk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I understand the same feelingssss. The unknown is what gets us all from time to time!!! May you get a great night sleep and have a great surgery! I believe you will be just fine and keep us posted. I was sleeved Dec 28th and to this date have lost 23 lbs. Best wishes TD41 -
Good Afternoon, Just curious has any one experienced head/ear congestion since being sleeved??? I am 9 days post-op and i wake up every daywith head congestion, ears feeling clogged etc. I find it odd considering that i have no other symptoms of a cold/allergies. Also, for the first few days of being home i constantly had dried blood in my nose or fragments whenever i would blow. I find myself constantly sniffing trying to clear up the drainage??? Just very curious if anyone has experienced this?? Thanks TD

vavavoommm Missy.... U r gorgeous and congrats TD41

Yes i know and understand the feeling of not waking up.... I thought the same thoughts prior to having surgery I have had 2 surgeries prior to this one but this surgery was very major to me and i survived... In life there are no guarantees but you have to be honest you could have died along with any of us at any point in life not just because you are having bariatric surgery( dont take me the wrong way I am compassionate and care about ppl) I prayed, played gospel music all day the day before surgery, and asked the Lord to be with me.... He did and i am happy!!! I give Him all the glory and praise!!! It was a very difficult decision to make but i knew i had to do something about my weight/overall health!!! You cant live life with a ton of what ifs!!! Now that im 2 weeks post-op and 20lbs lighter I truly am grateful for trusting and believing everything would be all right. I had my surgery Dec 28th. MUch much success to you on your surgery and the days ahead. I truly believe you will be fine!! Keep the faith and stay positive!! Hugs, TD41

Food will not be the end of me!
TD41 replied to Dinora7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thx for the honesty.... I had my surgery Dec 28. I have lost 20lbs so far. i know it wasnt easy for you but you have accomplished a major milestone in your life!!!! I know i have a long way to go to meet my goal but once the goal has been met we are happy on one hand to be healthy but food has and will always be apart of our lives but also we have to find ways/hobbies etc to fill the void to eating unhealthy and remind ourselves of what we truly felt like in our old body which sufferered tremendously due to being over weight.... I told myself that i have to eat to live and not live to eat anymore.... This is a journey and a life-long journey which we all have to stay on course if we want to remain in control and healthy.... Best of luck reaching your 100lbs weight loss and many blessings!!! Hugs, TD41 -
Craving fruits and veggies... Juicing anyone?
TD41 replied to skinnygirlscomingout's topic in Food and Nutrition
Good questions... I would love to know any feedback because im only 2 weeks post-op, I have one more week on Clear liquids then i move to phase 2 soft foods for 3 weeks then to solid foods. I had planned to drink Protein drinks for Breakfast and lunch then eat soft foods for dinner. I dont want to sabatoge my wl efforts if i drink 2 of my 3 meals daily until i feel comfortable eating 3 meals daily??? Hopefully someone will respond with more insight if its good to juice or not. Best of luck TD41
