I am going back to college soon as a sophomore, living in the dorms. I am an RA on campus and have my own room. I will have three weeks after surgery to recover and get back to everyday living at school. BUT we are not allowed to have our own microwave, stove, oven, etc. We have to share the weird, creepy kitchen in the basement. it is going to be incredibly hard for me to make the healthy foods I am supposed to be eating. I understand time management is also key but what am I supposed to do?! Does anyone else have/had this problem? What did you do? I am very afraid I will be stuck and not have the option I would at home. please help!

My authorization letter from my insurance company came in the mail today! I am beyond excited and cannot wait. Surgery is scheduled for July 23rd! :)

I was just approved today for July 23rd! I am stocked up on books from Barnes and Noble about all different aspects and expectations of surgery. I'm currently looking for books that deal with the emotional aspect after surgery and have seemed to find some good things on Amazon. Good luck to everyone!

I don't know why but I am very worried about the possibility of blood clots after surgery. It's very scary to me. Other then the given of walking and constant motion of your body, does anyone know of any natural supplements or something that could help to prevent blood clots? I want to be as prepared and ready as possible for all curve balls and obstacles.

Does anyone else feel like they aren't going to get to their ideal weight once surgery is over and done with? I guess I am so used to failed diets and I just want this to work. I want this more than anything, but it's hard to put it all together.

I am looking for good books regarding surgery and living life after surgery. Does anyone have suggestions if they have read any good books that have really helped them? I need something also that deals with the emotional aspect of the drastic change I am about to undergo. All suggestions are appreciated!

Hello everyone! My name is Leigh Ann and I am 21 years old. I am new to the forum. My sleeve has been approved by my insurance, and the tentative date is July 23rd! I am beyond excited to start a new life and become the healthy person I have always wanted to be. Does anyone have any suggestions for me after surgery to prevent blood clots? Any advice?
