I just want to bring this up about children being cruel. It happens to the skinny kids as well. If a child is thin they get called anorexic, bean pole, twig. They get told they need to go eat a twinkie. Body image is a big thing while growing up and I think children should be taught not to tease other children period. If they are fat or skinny, these words hurt and ruin self esteem.

Something about those yummy pickles!! I crave them too. On top of that I crave green olives. I just allow myself the olives in my salad and the pickles in my tuna. But, I do eat them a la carte as well. They are so good! But yes they have sodium -__-

Watch Jay Leno Tonight!

It's all new- I agree. It is very disappointing. I wish they would get accurate information out about the sleeve. It is saving my life and it can help save others! -
Our stomaches do not produce the digestive enzymes needed to break down tough and fibrous materials during the beginning phases of healing. Even later it is always important to chew thoroughly to help your stomache digest the food and allow it to travel thru successfully. It is very possible to get food stuck within your sleeve and have to visit the ER to have it removed. If not caught early it will cause vomiting, pain and irritation. The staple line takes weeks to start healing and when it does it is not a smooth line. All of our stomaches will heal with a bit of scar tissue. Some more than others. Always follow your drs plan unless you just like to gamble

Did anyone read the "today" article about her weight loss. They mention the gastric sleeve and how her stomache will stretch out again. As though it is fact. -__- -
Happy for you!!

Possibly Allergic To Whey Protein
lessofmeismore replied to shewolf143's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
It mixed well for me...I didn't use an entire scoop each time... just enough to be able to blend with whatever I'm eatting i.e. oatmeal, yogurt, soup... Also use it in shakes with skim milk and fruit usually strawberries and banana. -

The jay Robbs egg white protein powder unflavored is good to mix in shakes, yogurt, oatmeal etc. I do not even taste it. You might try it and see if you like it -
I think I started at 8 weeks. I also started popping my own after reading some suggestions from other people here. I really like it as a treat.

Complications After Surgery.

So glad to hear you're doing well -
Cookee, I sure hope you are ok. I'm so sorry you got hurt Please try not to be so hard on yourself, it is hard to lose the weight before the sleeve. It is our main reason for needing it. Perhaps those scales are wrong but even if not, it is a struggle for all of us pre-sleeve. My thoughts are with you for a positive outcome!!!

Take one day at a time, tomorrow is a new day and happiness awaits you. It's hard right now so just focus on today and your goals for today. You've done excellent on your weight loss. Things will get better one day at a time.

Readyforsuccess- unfortunately I have not had much relief from my weightloss but with that being said, Cookee brings up a great point about exercise helping, I havent started working out my core muscles. I think if I could push past the pain and work out I might find some relief. I'm going to start light today and see what happens. I'm happy to hear that the injections have been successful in managing pain but I also hoped to avoid something invasive. Hope that helps I hope you get some relief too!!!
-
Cookee- thank you! I have had other great improvements with my surgery i.e. my diabetes is gone and I'm off my blood pressure medicine:) Thanks for the kind words and support. I hope your pain gets better too!!

I have sciatica along with 2 bulging discs and bursitis in my hip. My Dr. is wanting to do injections in my back. I am terrified. It's done under anesthesia and is xray guided but I'm still afraid. I have my doubts if it will even work! I've suffered my entire life with back problems. I can say the endep did help but the side effects were too extreme so I stopped taking it. As of right now I take ultram, it helps but I'm not pain free by any means. I am very worried about the injections. *sigh* I've been hoping the weightloss would help but no relief as of yet.

I gained 20 lbs on endep It was awful Is there a reason why he didn't keep you on cymbalta?

Sleeve Stricture Or Obstruction?
lessofmeismore replied to Capt Kirk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Spatters is right. Try and get some fluid in her til u get to the ER. Ask them what type of diet she should start once she is home and on her way to recovery since she has had so many complications. I only mentioned the above info. to help until your decision was made... -
Sleeve Stricture Or Obstruction?
lessofmeismore replied to Capt Kirk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay. Bless her heart, she is still very fresh in her recovery and has already been put thru it. My diet at 5 weeks was only mushie puree foods. Things like soups and oatmeal, yogurt, mashed pot.... I did try some moist canned tuna with a lil mayo and it hurt my sleeve at that stage. I still drank two proteins shakes a day and a few bites of food was pretty much my days intake. I would see if she can SIP some pineapple juice. Tiny sips. Wait a while then try just clear liquids for 24 hours and then a very mushy diet for a week. If this helps. If it doesn't she should seek help for hydration. Try and avoid meats for another week. Please keep us updated. She is very lucky to have such a loving husband! -
Sleeve Stricture Or Obstruction?
lessofmeismore replied to Capt Kirk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When was her surgery? What is she Eatting? And how much? It could just be her sleeve, I had rough days/weeks but I'm not sure what she's been eatting and how much etc. If she is becoming dehydrated, the ER would definitely need to see her. Your both in my prayers!! -
How Can I Tell When My Sleeve Is Full
lessofmeismore replied to Shubox's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had a cup of salad with a few grilled chicken cubes and I am so miserably full. This is the first time I ate fast and didn't go slow to feel my full signal. I will never do this again. Oh man, I am hurting. Always go slow!!! -
Are your toes numb all day/ all night or just when your working out? If its all the time, I would suggest consulting a neurologist. Best of luck to you. Keep us updated!
