Pain After Swallowing
lessofmeismore replied to Gig's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm about to make myself sound really dumb but there is a science behind what I'm about to say... Water is heavier then most liquids, it takes up more space but if u mix something with it ...say tea or crystal light it breaks the components that make it sit so heavy in our tummies. -
There are people who have had to take *the walk of shame* to the restroom lol Butt <~~~ they shall remain nameless Haha

Imabear- unfortunately it IS an issue... Carry a spare set of undies and wipes -__- It's sad and gross but its a reality. "Never trust a fart" It's only right after for most but some it lasts thru the liquid only phases

Losing Too Much?
lessofmeismore replied to Mom2IrishTwins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jazz is right, having kidney problems with high protein intake = bad news. The water intake is essential in flushing our kidneys and keeping them healthy. -
Clk- that sounds delicious! Thanks for posting the recipe, definitely cooking it as well

Why Can't They Just All Agree?
lessofmeismore replied to Getting There's topic in Food and Nutrition
It's okay to try different programs once your cleared for regular foods. Try different diets and see which gives you the best weight loss It seems we all have different metabolisms too so what works for some doesn't for others. It's a wonky world trying to decide...go with what works -
How Many People Eat How Their Nutritionists Want?
lessofmeismore replied to pandabear's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still use instant oatmeal. For pre op I did the atkins for 4 weeks and then did 2 weeks meal replacement shakes and a lean cuisine with a salad. I tried to change my diets up on pre op so I would stay faithful. I also did a week of just healthy eatting ex. Veggies, lean meats, no fats no sugars. The yogurt I used pre op was carb control from krogers... Just do your very best -
Newbie Needing Some Advice...

At 2 weeks I was at the same phase you mentioned... Weeks 2-3 full liquids You know what helped me at that stage Black Beans boiled in chicken broth Then mash them or blend them real good Then strain them Add a spoon of sour cream some picante sauce minus the chunks It really hit the spot... Hope this helps.. And oikos vanilla yogurt is pretty good too -

That is soooo normal!! We all felt that way. It is so hard and emotional during that 6 weeks of healing. I promise you, it will only be temporary. You're life won't be like this forever. This time period is to heal so it takes a lot. It's okay to feel doubts. You will feel good again and you will be so very happy. Yes my 3rd phase was weeks 4-6 soft foods Phase 4 weeks 7-3months regular moist ground cooking so basic foods just not raw veggies and not tough meats 3 months + and your home free and getting skinny ))) -

Anyone Eating & Drinking At The Same Time?
lessofmeismore replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in Food and Nutrition
Yup that cramping can be your intestines trying to *digest* some food that gets by the sleeve before its broke down. It can be painful. But then again the spike in blood sugar can cause that as well. Either way, its miserable. -
Newbie Needing Some Advice...
lessofmeismore replied to AvasmommyRN's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Avasmommy- you're going to get many different answers on this Welcome to the board and Congrats on your recent surgery. What stages did your Dr give you? I believe at two weeks I could start full liquids such as blended soups with no chunks Yogurt with no fruit At 4 weeks I could start soft foods like apple sauce consistency. Your best answer is going to come from your surgeons office just because on here we all have different phases. Not sure why lol There isn't an universal diet *yet* This is temporary and will allow you to heal so treat yourself good and follow your surgeons guidelines -

P77- I've heard that too about some liquids helping move *stuck food through* I was told pineapple juice concentrate can help break down the food that's stuck as well. -
How Many People Eat How Their Nutritionists Want?
lessofmeismore replied to pandabear's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat fruit everyday. I put blueberries in my yogurt. It seems to help me. I am a food addict and trying to overcome it is way hard. My surgery set me on the right path but I allow myself the fruit to surpass the need for sugary things like jelly beans, cookies blah... I think I'm doing ok, I write down everything I eat at my meetings and my NUT always says I'm doing well. Try to do the best you can but fruit isn't evil. Well at least not to me lol
