Leak Survivors - A Little Help!
lessofmeismore replied to Lissa_S's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Kapoor, my best friend had her bowel cut during an endometrial ablation of her uterus. She spent 5 days septic and severely ill. Also, on the way out of surgery she awoke to choking on vomit in her mouth, she was sedated so could only bring her arm up to grab her Dr's jacket...he proceeded to just move her arm away and she passed out from it and had to have her lungs suctioned. I tell you this story because when she recieved her bills from everything...they were paid by said Dr. He did this without a word from her. I wish all Drs. would do this. I hope you find this type of resolution. -
Surgery - December 27th!
lessofmeismore replied to stephhine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I couldn't meet any of my goals, I just sipped all day. Sometimes a protein drink, mostly a water with crystal light. Don't force yourself. Keep some fluid next to you at night so if you wake up you can sip a little. Your healing from major surgery, give your body time, this isn't how its going to be forever, I promise. Focus on you and let yourself heal. It will get better -

I have heard people say that and yes it takes a while for the grehlin (hunger hormone) to leave your body so you probably are feeling physical hunger right now. Just stay strong and focused and it will eventually slow down. -
I had those feelings too. Just hang in there it will get better. I had a friend of mine who had her vsg a year before me and she told me just think skinny thoughts...I was like what the heck are skinny thoughts lol but then pondering that got me through Hang in there!!

Oh I definitely have head hunger. I was obese because of it. I didn't eat because I was physically hungry, I ate for many reasons...boredom, sadness, joy, habit, stress, I have/had an eating disorder. It's just easier now because food has become a lesser factor in my life. The phases of strict dieting to heal and getting in my healthy foods so I stay well...that is priority now and then thankfully I'm so full I can't eat for other reasons. But I still fight those demons but I'm being honest when I tell you it gets easier. I am proof. I'm almost at goal and I was a food addict. Work the program and stay strong! -
are there any sleevers here who have had leaks from cheating on their post op diets?
lessofmeismore replied to leeann71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's hard for me to throw up since being sleeved. I have felt the naseau and wished I could get it out but I couldn't...I don't know why this is... It keeps me in line though...I found out the hard way the misery of eating too fast. -

spitting stitches
lessofmeismore replied to charissa70737's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, they are not the staples from your stomache. Those are permanent and attatched to our stomaches inside our bodies. These are dissolvable sutures at the incision sites. -
It's too early now for you to do those exercises but after 6 to 8 weeks post op your physician should clear you for exercise. Right now walking is the best thing.
-
Thank you! You will be super successful, I look forward to hearing about all your success. I never could have done this without the surgery. It gave me my life back and I'm so thankful.

lessofmeismore replied to charissa70737's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't pull it! Yes, it happened on all mine. Dr. said just wait til it falls off on its own...some took 3 weeks after they surfaced. You can trim them but do not pull -

Well I hope your bloodwork comes back perfect!!! <3 -
I think if your young your good to go and shouldn't have a problem. I'm older so my skin doesn't have a lot of collagen. It sure makes me feel older than old I've seen lots and lots of gorgeous after photos of people looking great so its not everyone.
-
Oh no! That would stress you out for sure!! I hope it gets resolved Yes, start your chewable vitamins especially with all the added stress from your neighbors. Your hearts not racing is it? You feel okay otherwise? Definitely do your spirometer. It's worth the hassle. You don't want pneumonia.

I was doing two a day of the flinstones complete chewables and my nutritionist said 4 a day. I was suprised too! -
Are you stressed? Are you taking your vitamins? Your body has been thru heck...a major organ has been severed... It could be telling you to rest a bit more. Congrats on your surgery!
-
It's the price we pay for being heavy. The skin is stretched I totally hate my neck...ugh
