    3 days post-op

The beginning is a struggle. Keep water by your side and sip sip sip....some sips I just wet my lips. It's lots of work in the beginning...to heal our poor stomaches from being surgically cut and stapled. The good news is this is temporary...its not what your life will entail...this is just the time we have to spend healing our bodies. Do the very best you can for your body to heal and you will be on the road to feeling good. Congrats everyone!!!
  3. My favorite powder protein is Body Fortress Whey Protein Isolate vanilla creme.... My favorite RTD is premier protein shakes in chocolate.

Newly sleeved 1/11 and kinda miserable!

You should be sipping tiny sips from a one ounce medicine cup. You should drink no more than one ounce every fifteen minutes while in the hospital. For me, even that was hard....take it slow...just sip sip

    3 days out!

At 3 days post op I was on clear liquids...for 7 days to be exact and the two weeks on full liquids. What has your Dr instructed you can have? That way it will be easier to make suggestions according to your plan. Congrats on being sleeved!!!!

    Don't know her....

Gmanbat, you just made me realize a major NSV!! I used to dread getting dressed and going anywhere I now get dressed and go to every family member in my house and ask how I look with a huge smile on my face. I don't mean that I think I look amazing but that I am happy with myself, I am for the first time in a long time comfortable and confident in clothes

    Meeting with surgeon tomorrow

Insurance goes by the weight your Dr submits from your first visit. The diet to lose 20 lbs is a safety precaution from the surgeon...he requires you lose enough at a fast enough rate to shrink your liver to make surgery safer. I think you should be fine...if u have a surgery date, you should be ok

my get up n go ...got up n went ...:D

Strong coffee lol and wake up early early in case you run into any snags...babies tend to throw suprises at us lol Make sure you're taking your b12 and multi vitamin religiously Try and set a scheduled sleep time so your body sets it's internal clock. Things should adjust fairly quickly!

    hate this feeling

Yes go back to proteins and very low carbs (only healthy carbs like veggies) Give it three full days of high protein low carbs and you should start to regain the control and feel satisfied.

The scale is an evil minion lol Just put it away, eat healthy, drink your fluids...you will lose weight. What's that saying? A watch pot never boils? No worries!!

    In my head

Perfectly normal! The feelings and the stalls in weightloss...it happens with everyone...just put the scale away. I know its hard to do but its much better than the stress you'll have over it.

    acid

Well isn't he a ray of sunshine -__- Has he been sleeved? There are a great number of us sleevers who had to increase our acid reducer and it helped!!! Please don't let him make you feel like this. I'm glad I had the sleeve but I wouldn't want to redo the first 6 months. Try and hold on to the fact that this is temporary. You are healing and your restriction is at the tightest it will ever be...it takes a lot of adjusting, a lot of pampering our stomaches...its hard to grasp how little we take in at first and how slowly we must proceed but it is temporary. Please try not to think this is how you will feel forever because this is just temporary while your stomach heals and you recover from this major surgery. Acid reducers can be bought over the counter so buy those and double up the dose. I'm so sorry your Dr was like that but I am glad your upper gi came back okay. I have a meeting tonight but I will check back with you later tonight. Sorry if this is hard to read...lots of distractions and I'm on my phone typing.
