Constant empty nauseous feeling like I'm hungry
lessofmeismore replied to Chellemetime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had that for a while. I think its our mind/stomache trying to sort out their lack of communication after the surgery. It does go away. I just tried different things like a sip of warm tea...a nibble of a graham cracker... It does stop eventually -
In addition to significantly and effectively treating obesity, patients who undergo bariatric surgery experience complete resolution or significant improvement of obesity related health conditions and metabolic disorders. Specifically in patients with diabetes; previously considered chronic and irreversible, metabolic surgery can induce complete remission of diabetes, resulting in discontinuation of insulin therapy or oral hypoglycaemic agents. It was originally thought that these conditions resolved themselves due to weight loss; however research confirms that metabolic surgery corrects the abnormal metabolism. In fact, surgeons are now looking at the potential use of bariatric and metabolic surgery as a primary treatment for metabolic syndromes in obese individuals. In a recent review article in the Journal of the American Medical Association

It's does change Type 2 diabetes nearly overnight and we all know diabetes is a metabolic condition therefore I agree it very much resets our metabolic rate. Right?

It was hard and I mean hard for me to do it for two weeks. I can't imagine 6 months. It is worth it! Once you get surgery it will be easy to eat the right amounts and not feel hungry. It's an amazing tool. You should maybe give yourself a mix up for about a week. Maybe healthy eatting for 7 days then back to shakes and salads. Maybe do this every other week?

Wow that's a long time on that diet...I would contact my surgeons office for suggestions. You could try switching to another type of diet.

Protein Drinks and foods you can eat the 1st few months
lessofmeismore replied to Suzannesh's topic in Food and Nutrition
Advocare "meal replacements" are only for pre op diets... Then just buy the protein powder -
Sorry, to keep asking questions lol but what type of protein drink? You should start losing...my pre op was almost the same 2 shakes and a lean cuisine for dinner one week then one week 4 shakes a day only no meal ... How many days have you done your pre op so far?
