    Emotional eating after surgery

I started therapy. It made me realize how much I was using food to suppress emotions. Every emotion I had somehow included food into that feeling. I'm learning to feel without needing the food. I hope that makes sense. It's hard... Really hard but it's getting better.

    Leak?

Hi Sannah I was trying to figure out what size would a 1/4 inch stone be in mm I'm horrible with math but this is what I found for some information If stones grow to sufficient size (usually at least 3 millimeters (0.12 in)) they can cause obstruction of the ureter. Ureteral obstruction causes postrenal azotemia and hydronephrosis (distension and dilation of the renal pelvis and calyces), as well as spasm of the ureter. This leads to pain, most commonly felt in the flank (the area between the ribs and hip), lower abdomen, and groin (a condition called renal colic)

    Vet's Forum

Why not request the admins to create a "group message" ability and then vets can "group message" the other vets that they feel qualify for their topic. I really am kinda lost on what the whole debate is about... A vet forum was requested and it was granted. The first vet forum since the start of VST. It seems like it is veterans discussing what is a veterans forum? Perhaps this is something to be discussed with admin if you are unhappy with the vet forum.

    Leak?

Oh I thought you had said your stones were 1/4 inch. I get threads confused. Did she scan you to make sure your ureters are clear? Any size stone can lodge into your ureter kidney or bladder because they are spikey like porcupines

    ohood

Eleven days from surgery you are still very swollen and still have a lot of healing going on... Try and take lots of sips all day long... Try warm liquids see if it helps...maybe flavored water or Gatorade. The emotional part is normal. It takes time to adjust but I promise you after a few months things will start to feel more positive. Hang in there, stay strong and continue to come here for support if you are feeling low! Hugs to you!

    Leak?

It seems like you are going to have to be an advocate for yourself and ask your dr why these steps have not been taken. I believe you need to be seen in the ER for a ultrasound scan and they will contact your doctor . If he has suggested you go then that is where you should be... You really are suffering needlessly. Please call your dr and/or head to the ER It was through the ER that I got set up for the procedures. Praying for you! -Lisa

    Leak?

There is no stent used for the breaking up of the stones. There is no cutting at all just ultra sound waves to break up the stones. They just place the machine behind your back and send the waves into your kidneys. That's when they are reduced in size. That way they are small enough to pass without pain or getting lodged. With the size of your stones, they will most likely get lodged. Google passing 6mm stones. In my case I waited too many days and they lodged in my ureter blocking my kidney. Surgery was preformed and yes they use a stent but it is NOT the type of stent u had for a leak. It is a tiny tiny tube flexible and it's placed inside your ureter not your urethra to help it stay open to flush your kidneys it can not be felt while it is i place. It only stays in 5 days and is painless. Even the removal is painless. I was so thankful for that surgery. And the shockwave procedure it a breeze and instant relief and success in passing.
