Hi Sannah, my most recent X-ray showed my kidneys were clear from stones. Hopefully the x ray was right. My kidneys still ache and my right kidney hurts daily. My urologist tells me it's healing. He better be right My stones were calcium oxilate (sp?) The problem now is my sleeve diet contradicts my kidney diet. This is what I should be doing for my kidneys reducing sodium reducing animal protein, such as meat, eggs, and fish avoiding foods high in oxalate, such as spinach, rhubarb, nuts, and wheat bran My urologist is not familiar with the gastric sleeve so I'm basically lost on what I should do One thing he did tell me to do is drink 8 ounces of orange juice a day and I do this I believe the citrus breaks down the stones. My blood work still shows that my kidneys are not functioning where they should be but we are waiting before starting more testing. Every twinge or ache brings me to full panic because I fear that pain that I experienced. It kinda feels like PTSD I am sure you can relate to this with all that you are going through I hope you get good news at the drs. Hugs-Lisa

Yes I have a few like that and then I have one you can barely see... I wish they all healed like that one:p I am very fair skinned, pale is my middle name, I could star in twilight no problem so I figured it was just me. -

It's always better to be safe! You were right to call your dr and post on here. I called my surgeon about three times a week in the beginning months. And by all means if you don't start feeling better or your heart and blood pressure stay elevated, call your surgeon again. At 17 days you want to make sure you are getting in your fluids. Also it has been discovered lately that our sodium gets low due to our limited intake so I would suggest drinking a G2 Gatorade every now and then to help with hydration. We can drink water all day long but if we are low in sodium it doesn't help. We are not drs but we love to try and help so post as often as you need

I agree ... Back up on your food stage I did full liquids for three weeks and then puréed and then mushy I started reg food at 7 weeks I hope this helps and you start doing better!!!

Did you recently add a new food or drink?

If you are still carb free I would do a couple of days of healthy carbs.... Lots of veggies and some fruit.... It worked for me, it's worth a shot. Then I went back to low carb high protein and eventually went to a balanced diet since I am at goal. Best of luck!

Hi Sannah, I ended up having emergency surgery to remove the stones because they ended up blocking my ureter and my kidney stopped functioning. It was a lot of pain before, something I pray I never experience again. My heart hurts for you knowing you are hurting. It really is better to have them removed if they are not passable. The dr should be able to determine this from tests. I'm doing good. Thank you for asking I'm at goal now so I am learning to stay on track and maintain. It's exciting and I still have to pinch myself to make sure it's real Hugs to you- Lisa

Sannah sweetheart let them go in and get those kidney stones... I've had them, they are horrible and can cause kidney damage if left untreated. Just do the surgery and you will feel so much better I promise you! Also the gall bladder, take it out. There's no down time after the surgery and you get rid of so much pain. I hope you will consider doing it ASAP! You are in my thoughts!!! You deserve to be well!

Laura I would inquire about an orthotic to place in your shoe on the leg that is a lil shorter. Since you will be running you will want to even out so you don't pull muscles or injure ligaments. My daughter has to wear orthotics for foot pronation. If she runs without them she ends up hurting or with injuries. Take it slow and yay for running!!! I'm going to go get Dean to help me from the couch 2 my bed lol -

I have sprouts sticking up all over my head from regrowth.. It's ridiculous looking, I look like a porcupine wearing a bad wig lol I lost a ton of hair and I'm still losing but a bunch is growing back from the massive amounts I lost at 6 months. I wear my hair to the side without bangs and now I have bangs from all the "sprouts" It reminds me of when I was a pre teen and still had baby hair along my hair line -__-
