More Of A Risky Surgery: Gall Bladder Removal Or Lapband ???
jessasmile78 replied to marketingdude's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have had both recovery from gall bladder took longer and I was in more pain. I was more nauseated after lap band but only because I didn't take that little anti nausea pill prior to lap band surgery. My surgeon explains that the risk is when he makes an incision behind the stomach next to the liver that he does it basically by feel taking extra time in that spot to be accurate. Which at first I thought sounded weird and scary but that information was followed by his statistics and success rate. -
So, I fought emotional eating tonight. I auditioned for something and didn't get picked and it just so happened I was at the store when I found out. So, there I am standing in the store wanting to eat Crappy comfort food. I reached out and was 90% talked off my emotional response. I had such anxiety about it. Breath breath get out of the candy aisle. Ended up with animal cookies, but considering what I was originally going to devour I at least feel like I attempted to acknowledge the behavior maybe next time I will resist buying anything at all. Emo eating 1 me 0!

Someone Turn Me On To Best Tasting Protein Shake
jessasmile78 replied to Maddysgram's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I like FRS 25 G of protein. I also like rainbow lite vegan protein. I like Atkins as well. Didn't like muscle milk lite tastes like plastic and gave me stomach rot., didn't like hemp protein it was like drinking sand. -
I found the most success with warm water with agave and a splash of lemon juice.
-
Thanks, I don't thinkwhat I want exists but I want a protein that dissolves instantly in water like my fiber
-
Manderoo does it dissolve in your water or is it gritty?

Little Embarrassed And Tmi... Painfully Constipated?
jessasmile78 replied to Sarah72's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since I started adding benefiber to my water I don't get constipated. The fiber is tasteless and dissolves instantly. Love it and its a natural way to keep things moving. I don't like the way laxitives make me feel and impact my body chemistry. -
What do people do to combat eating while bored? I find it challenging to not snack while reading or watching tv. Anyone got any good ideas?

Did You Keep Your Surgery A Secret?
jessasmile78 replied to KanesMom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My immediate family and a couple of close friends know. I didn't tell anyone at work my weight loss has been slow enough and I waited so long to get my first fill that I haven't been faced with the questions yet, but when I go back to work in September I might have a few people notice. -

I ate a Starbucks breakfast sandwich which has never been an issue. Well I got a fill shortly after and wasn't able to keep water down. Went back lost 13lbs in 2.5 days to have some fluid taken out of my band. Was feeling much better but now when I'm on my left side I slime and I think It's bread from the sandwich any suggestions on how to get rid of this stuck bread or to get it to break down and pass ?

What Protein Supplement Do You Use?
jessasmile78 replied to loseit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like FRS. 25gr. Protein ready to drink, I also have a vegan protein I like 15g protein its made by rainbow. -
I add benefiber to my water and drink that all day long. Works perfect every time I refill my water cup I add benefiber. I find that when I have eaten processed food it is way worse. Luckilypp I live in a agricultural area and have access to fresh produce. As much as possible I prepare fresh food. Cherries are coming off the tree right now and those help loosen things up, better than prunes (yuck) not a fan of the prune, but I like plums.

I have had surgery twice and both times it came with shoulder pain. It's totally normal. I stopped taking my pain meds the day of surgery because I was violently throwing up everything I drank.
