A Question For Anyone Who Has Been Stuck.

I've been banded since January and been stuck 2 Times. Both times was because I was eating while watching tv and not paying attention to how my body was feeling. The other thing that helps me is to raise my hands above my head or lay on my left side and breath through it.

    Ice Coffee?

As someone who worked for Starbucks for 6 years I pretty much am an espresso over ice and nothing added. If you have to add things to your coffee to tollerate it you aren't making it right or its not the right blend for your pallet. How some people feel about wine tasting I feel about coffee. I find my favorite is Asia Pacific coffees and if there is a concern about it being irritating to the band or stomach a good rule of thumb is pick and drink bold or extra bold coffee it has less acidity and won't irritate like a medium or mild blend of coffee. Don't be fooled by sweet drinks marketed as being healthy.

    Pressure In Swimming Pools

I'm a swim and water aerobics instructor. Swimming can be anaerobic and aerobic depending on how you work out in the pool because you are in the water you don't really know how much you are sweating and are dehydrating your body and us banded patients will notice this even more I find after a workout in the pool if I immediately drink 20-40 oz of water I don't have problems with my protein drink or a light meal.
  4. I had already had mine out before lap band surgery. My surgeon used to so lap band and gall bladder removal at the same time but has found that patients who have both done at the same time had more band complications and higher rates of infection, so he no longer will do both together. Having had both surgeries I wouldn't want to be recovering from both at the same time. Every surgeon is different, but my surgeon is very open about things.

    Dairy

My nutritionist and surgeon advise against milk because anything with the word tose in it processes as a sugar and can slow down weight loss. Lactose, fructose, ect., but It's true each surgeon seems to have slightly different approach.

    First Fill July 9Th

I had a one week post op check up and then wasn't scheduled for my first fill until 6 weeks post op. In fact my surgeon wouldn't even consider a dill until I was past that 6 week mark. When I was banded he put in 3cc of fluid in my band.
