Well, I went through it for couple of months and i hated my life. so I totally understand your position. Wish you good luck. I did the band while im convinced that I needed to work on my awareness and emotions. the band is not the real solution. I encourage you to do all what you can to figure out the reason why you eat more than you should have and heal from it. I am working on it myself. Its all in the head and about self achievement you know.

Hello Labsters, I had my surgery in January 2010, lost weight slowly and had minor issues until last March 2012. I will be grateful if anyone can tell me whether they have been going through the same and whether you have an idea what this could be. Since last March this what's been happening with me. It started with my stomach making weird embarrassing noises then after a while - have acidity that goes up during the night - throwing up after every meal to release pressure and its not even painful to throw up. - throwing up sometimes foam, sometime just Water not knowing where all this water come from, sometime heavy saliva. - while throwing I burp a lot as if there is a pocket of air that is released then ill feel fine. - it seems every 30 mnts or more I need to throw up and it doesnt feel coming from my stomach, it feels coming from the esophagus. I used to throw up brownish liquid then it stopped. Sometimes I have chest pain. Went to the doctors many times for this. I have been dragged from one clinic to another, my endoscopy is scheduled in October!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would like to know if anyone has gone through similar frustrating situation. There is always a feeling of pressure, most of the time, it hurts to eat too. So, anyone knows anything please? Im tired of waiting for the canadian health care system to answer my question. If I was in Dubai this would have been solved in a matter of 10 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys for your replies.

Critterlady, sorry to hear about your experience. I actually feel much better since the band was emptied a little. All my symptoms just disappeared. I hope your operation goes well, did you know what happened? Why you are going through this?

I finally met with the doc today, he said it's too tight so he removed some Fluid and will go to endoscopy or whatever they call it in Oct to make sure there is no erosion. I feel better already. Thank you all for your replies and concerns. It is sad that this small issue had to wait 5 months to get resolved.

Let's hope it is just too tight although it was fine. Brandie 01 I hope it is tight not a slippage for you too. These symptoms are annoying and im a lady this is embarrassing. lol Now, the question is, if it is too tight where I can find a decent clinic where I won't be asked to pay $5000 for after care!!!! Does anyone know?

MMM not good news. I had my surgery outside of Canada and it costs a lot. Lets hope I only need to de-fill the thing. Thanks a lot for your replies ladies.

What did you do when it slipped?

Thanks a lot Sage.

BTW I called these guys, they want me to pay $5000 and I will be able to adjust it as much as I want. This is BS. It is 100% commercialized. What the hell it means adjust it as you please? in one year I only needed to adjust it 2 times. They encourage people to abuse this procedure. I am v frustrated about this GREED.

Thank you LYDSSS, I sent them an inquiry. Appreciate your assistance.

I was banded in Dubai 2010, called slim band people when I came to Toronto to keep my eye on the band and to stay on top of things but they refused to take me, they asked me to pay $5000 and I can have fills and refills as much as I want. Total commercialization of this procedure. Why would I want to constantly fill it or de-fill it and refill it. The idea is to adjust the filling when there is a need not as much as you want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They commercialize everything in here. Disgusting. Now, I am having trouble in my stomach, constant throwing up and re flux that I cannot tell the reason becuz I have no place to go to in terms of band and the doctors here keep sending me back and forth not knowing what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello guys, I hope someone can help me to know what I should do and if anyone has gone through the same. I had my lap band surgery in 2009, lost weight slowly and steadily, minor discomfort but its becoming more and more uncomfortable and painful to eat for the last year. Until recently I started to throw up at night (reflux) and just recently I am throwing up brown liquid. Today morning it was very obvious from the taste of it that I am throwing up blood. I have been going to doctors and they suspect it might be the lap band and I looked everywhere on the net I am not getting enough info, some suggested a hole in stomach and I am freaking out. . Did anyone go through the same? and how this issue can be solved? Thanks Slim2009

I had my surgery in Dubai and I moved to Canada last year. Lap band surgeons here are very commercial. Refused to see me and they have weird commercial packages. I saw a doctor couple of days ago he will refer me to a specialist in the next couple of days.
