Looking For Dec Sleevers Out There
alley-gator replied to mandyMO's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Those whey shooters aren't the tight kind of protein for you to be drinking. If you read the back the ingredients say so. You need pure whey isolate protein, and those are a different kind. If I remember right it is collagen protein. Drinking that won't help you at all, because your body won't break it down. Sorry to be a downer, just didn't want you to be wasting time, money, and stpmach space on that junk. -
I know you can have gas pain all over, and that I can go to left shoulder, but anyone ever had it just behind the breast bone? I am having pain there. This is post op day 1. Thanks guys!

I am still bfing my 18 month old, and I am having my surgery on Thursday 12/20. I have researched it, and there are other women out there who have continued to bf successfully after vsg, and rny as well. Can't say how it will go for me, we will just have to see. -
Hello all! I am being sleeved on Dec 20. On day 4 of preop diet and am not loving the protein shake thing (like anyone does) but I ordered a bunch of different kinds to try, including the nectar sample pack. What I am wondering, is how do you all make your shakes? I've got plenty of flavors to play with, sugar free torani, truvia...what really gets me is the foam. So far I've just been blending them. I thought the nectar might be better than the creamy kind because it goes in water and is fruity instead...so any ideas? How do you stop the foam? If I just throw the foam away am I throwing away plus of the protein too, or is the foam just air and not much protein? Help!

No one is going to read past the first couple of lines of this post because they don't want to have to put a puzzle together to figure out what you are saying.

Do men like to give head to a woman with a full bush? Well neither do we! We aren't cave men anymore, technology has made it possible to look our best & from the point of view of an EMT who has seen my fair share of both men & women naked, just shave it, trim it, buzz it....but please god don't let it go wild!! I know I won't be giving blow jobs to dirty wild haired men anytime soon.

I am baffled how some people are still members of this forum. People are so rude. -

This has gotten ridiculous. I have been on this site for a long time, reading everything I can, and butter has never been anything but helpful and informative. If you don't understand sarcasm and aren't able to control your own snotty remarks and refrain from accusing someone that is just trying to help, then perhaps this site really isn't for you. There are other sleeve forums, and they certainly are not one size fits all, so maybe there is a better one out there for some of you who are so incredibly offended by butters joking. Seriously, enough with the drama. If you don't like something, leave. Last I checked you had to be an adult to have this surgery so we should all act like it from here on out. -

Looking for Honesty...

I am not going to say who on here has done it, but I personally know people who used weights to up their weight high enough. They hid them under spanks and did ankle weights. I also know people who gained 10 or 15 pounds to qualify. I am not telling you what to do, or saying its ok, or that it isn't okay. Just relaying the information I know. Personally 10 lbs to gain to get the surgery covered isnt a lot. Id do it. -
I love premier protein from Costco, it seriously is like chocolate milk!!

Your opinion please

Well if he is truly a general surgeon, then I agree there should be no reason for him not to fix it and I would tell him to do it, or I will find a surgeon who will. -

It is not surprising that a surgeon who does bariatrics would not want to repair an abdominal hernia or an inguinal hernia, that takes a different kind of surgeon and specialty. A hiatal hernia is in your diaphragm where your esophagus passes through and that is what we are all talking about when we say our surgeon fixed a hernia for us. That's inside and you would not be able to see through clothes or skin, so I am guessing you are referring to an abdominal hernia. This type of hernia can require mesh and all kinds of things to fix, and is usually repaired by a general surgeon, not a bariatric surgeon. -
So I have a question for all of you who have been sleeved. I am being sleeved Dec 20. Being the holidays, lots of family is in town and I am nervous as to how it will go. Obviously we all need a couple weeks to feel like we can go back to work, but how many days before you felt like doing anything before laying in bed? When could you shop? Visit family or friends? 3 days? 7? 10? I have heard some people who go to Mexico actually do tourist stuff while they are there. Do I need to tell my family to not plan on me at all during Christmas?

Carbs are stored in your liver while it converts them to fat, hence the fatty liver we all have. I would say the broth is totally okay, but leave out the flour... That won't help you at all. Sounds like you are doing pretty well overall!
