I used A lighter me. They have over 10 years experience. No pressure. In fact, a lot of these other companies are started with people that worked for A lighter me.... I went to PV Mexico last year, and I paid $4500 for the surgery, an extra $500 for hernia repair and an extra $500 to go to PV. The BEST medical care I've ever received, I high recommend going and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I've even had a family member go to TJ and she said that she was pleasantly surprised by the medical care she received.

You'll do great!! It's the best decision I've ever made for myself. Do what your doctor tells you. Don't worry when you're in a stall, it's normal and it WILL happen. Make sure you take Chapstick with you to the hospital.

Tummy Tuck in Mexico...Any recommendations?
VSGJean replied to scubadottie's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I talk about my fear of sending my naked pics in my last update on Youtube!! I actually got some funny comments/messages about that.... I'm hoping to be in a new business soon, so waiting will be best anyway. -
Tummy Tuck in Mexico...Any recommendations?
VSGJean replied to scubadottie's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm thinking that if I go, I want to go after the holidays. When it's not so hot. Living in Louisiana, I know HOT. Plus that will get me time to save too!! I guess after the summer I will have to send him my naked pics... LOL -

I've been researching Dr. Sauceda and I think when the time comes I will go with him.. -

Surgeons in Lafayette, Louisiana Dr. Chu/Dr. Cunningham
VSGJean replied to Danyel Carter's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I'm in North Louisiana and my insurance would cover the surgery, so I went to Mexico. The BEST medical care I've ever received. I would do again in a heartbeat!!! -
This is where I am. The earliest I can do plastics is October. Doctors want you to be a year out and have maintained your weight. It really depends on my job and my husband's job. If things don't work out for this Fall, I will have to push it back to summer 2014. I need an upper AND lower body lift. I'm also thinking about a brow and neck lift too, I would think the more procedures you have done at one time, the price would be less for the simply fact that you are only using the OR and medical team once. I haven't seen a price list from Dr. Sauceda, he wants pics first and since I'm still at least 6 months away, I'm not comfortable sending pics yet.... Have you checked out my Youtube page? Also are you a member of Sassy Sleevers on FB? Check them out, they are full of info.

I've researched Costa Rica through Arrivacostarica.com and other like sites. That being said, I think I'm going to use Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey, Mexico.
-
I have heard of it, not by that name. What I have found doing my research is that most tummy tucks include the "corset" procedure, at least the dr's in Mexico do. Are you a member of "sassy sleevers" on FB? We've been discussing it on there.

I'm in week 23 of my journey and for the last 3 of 4 weeks my hair has been falling out. So I decided to search hair loss and surgery. I found this article that says not only will you lose your hair after major surgery but also covers bariatric surgery. I feel better now, but check out the link. http://www.ehow.com/about_5390925_losing-hair-after-surgery.html

On my way to Mexico today!
VSGJean replied to xaviergirl06's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Good Luck, You'll do great. Prayers for you and your doctors!! -
You'll like Dr. Lopez. Don't forget to keep your receipts!! I'm adding my surgery in my medical expenses for 21012.
-
I only got the slimmies if I ate too much. Call your doctor ASAP. Something isn't right.
-
I had the repair too. I remember pain between my shoulder and collar bone from the air. I had more discomfort than the other patients had and I got tired faster also. But it wasn't that bad for having the repair and the removal of my stomach. The pain will be gone is a day or two.

Hey! Wheres MY crazy postop energy?
VSGJean replied to amytug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 months out and I don't have the "crazy energy" either. -
I paid extra for going to Puerto Vallarta and for my Hiatal hernia!!
-
I paid $5500 and went to Mexico, I didn't have to do classes for 3 months. Best decision I ever made and I can't wait until I can have my reconstructive surgery!!

Advice please?!
VSGJean replied to aylalinngren1026's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You'll do great!! This will be the best decision you will ever make for yourself. This forum is here for support, so use it. There are NO stupid questions. I took Gas-X strips for the gas pain. I don't know if they helped or not. I wish I had packed extra PJ's (I was in Mexico). -
Will orange juice do me harm?
VSGJean replied to Gabi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started carving oranges about 8 weeks after my surgery and I eat them. Earlier this week I had a head cold and need OJ and drank some. I'm 24 weeks out from surgery. I haven't heard anything about the acid eating away your stomach, but call your doctor and found out what he thinks. -
You've quit smoking and you're having WLS!! Good for you. I was allowed a meal at night until 3 days before surgery, than it was all liquid. I'll admit that I did eat those last 3 days, but it was protein and veggies. You will be able to eat soon enough. I'm doing my vlog and I actually took pics of my dinner last night, so I need to work on that video. You can eat "normal" food, just not at first. I think by the end of May, you can eat what you want, just not a lot of it.

Who would NOT do it again and why?
VSGJean replied to LOVESAQHA's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm 6 months out and would do it again in a heartbeat!! Can't wait to have my plastic surgery to repair the damage of being fat for so many years. After my research, I found that the sleeve was the best and less complications then the Ban or bypass!! -
I'm a stay-at-home-mom/wife. I did my normal stuff, just couldn't pick anything up that was heavy. I drove my son to school, cleaned and did laundry. I did need a nap in the afternoon!! I couldn't keep my eyes open. Maybe you could do half days at first. At least you could get caught up at work, but not over do it.

Scheduled for March 19; freaking OUT!
VSGJean replied to WeightStruggle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is so worth it!! I'm almost 24 weeks out and I'm at 62 lbs down. I worked out a few years ago, 3 times a week anywhere from 1 to 2 hours and only lost 12 lbs in 9 MONTHS!!! I lost 12 lbs in a week with my sleeve.... I have my losses and my plateau's and Thank Goodness I haven't had a gain... I know I can do better if I would go to the gym!! I have a membership, just haven't been going... -
Can I REALLY go through with this?
VSGJean replied to HumanAgain2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Find a Protein mix that you like and has what your dr recommends. You can flavor them. Google Protein Drink recipes. The surgery is SO worth it!! You just have to get over this stepping stone.
