Worried About Psychologist
Losingitforgood! replied to Chubarella's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in a similar situation with things not being so good at home during my pre approval process. My husband made some bad choices- and I'll tell you what- I'd be damned if he slowed down or pushed out my progress for my surgery. I was scared of the psyc eval also- but had the support of my MD and my personal therapist that no matter what was going on at home- there was no better time to work on improving myself. They fully supported surgery- and said I should most definatly move forward. I ultimately decided to push out my psyc eval for 6 weeks- in fear of me bursting into tears and melting down at what a mess my life had become. It was no big deal however since I had 3 more months of a supervised weight loss plan to follow. When I felt more mentally stable- I made my appointment and went in. I was honest and my psyc eval went wonderful. He asked very little about my home life- and could see how determined I was to do this for myself-- no one else! Now is the time for you to do just that- keep your eye on the prize and stay focused. If you are not able to do your psyc eval today- maybe you will feel stronger, better tomorrow- things will get better! -

Are you waiting the 6 months for insurance? -
Oh my stars just found the best refried beans ever! Got them at a Spanish store locally- Ducal Is the brand. They are smooth as silk- and super creamy and yummy. These are going on my post op list for sure. 1/4 cup offers 7grams protein.

1St Surgeon Visit... What To Expect
Losingitforgood! replied to drexelgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was after a group session meeting with him. Then he pulled us each in and did a small exam and we talked about my concerns/questions. I was armed with my questions- and my surgeon was impressed by all I was asking. -
Hey Ladies... A Few Personal Questions
Losingitforgood! replied to myownjourney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Girl you are 21- if anything you got time on your side. Don't worry about saggy boobies- that's what push up bras are for! Sounds like your friend is feeling a little threatened by the thought of you getting more attention. You are young- you will be making the best decision of your life!! -

My Insurance Wont Tell Me If I'm Approved Is Yours The Same?
Losingitforgood! replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Insurance & Financing
I called every day for 5 days- the insurance co. was very up front with me. They told me where my paperwork was in the process- and once I was approved they also told me. -
How Do I Ask My Insurance Company...
Losingitforgood! replied to jaymzee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know my insurance will cover it- but I think it's all about documenting how long you have had the lose skin- how far it hangs- rashes and such. I plan on making documentation as soon as I can to show I've had consistent problems with the excess skin- that way when I'm at my goal I'll be ready and can have it removed. (I have excess abdominal skin from having 4 kids- I already know I will have excess skin issues). -

Cigna Insurance Filed...how Long Will The Verdict Take? (Is Age A Factor?)
Losingitforgood! replied to Groovinchikin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My paperwork was faxed to Cigna last Monday 7/16. I've called every day- they say it takes 5 business days- I'm getting ready to call again to make sure things are on track. They have really expideted the approval process in the last few months from what I hear. Also if you have a surgeons office that makes sure you have your ducks in a row- you should have no problem. Good luck!!! -
Liver Shrinking Question
Losingitforgood! replied to carolc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor told me I could follow the pre op diet- or follow any other plan where I was losing weight. I've done a pretty good job of losing on my own- so I would say as long as you lose some weight you should be fine. -
Scared I Will Resent My Husband For Treating Me Differently After....
Losingitforgood! replied to Nikki613's topic in The Gals' Room
I am kind if in a different position. I've been married to my HS sweetheart for 14 years. I was heavy the day we met and have never been in a "normal" weight catagory. 4 kids later- 70 lbs later my husband loves ALL of me. He is and has always been a chubby chaser. Needless to say- I'm terrified of losing too much weight- in fear he won't be attracted to me. I just want to be loved unconditionally no matter what my size. it's scary for me to think of the possibility of him losing his desire for me- but I know this is the best choice for me to live longer and have a healthier lifestyle. My therapist told me that somewhere in the 70-80% of married couples divorce after one person in the marriage loses a drastic amount of weight. And the statistics are even higher in couples where the one losing weight was heavy when first married. ( not so much in couples where the one started out thin- then after being married gained weight- and then lost a substantial amount of weight) I know it's something I need to work on in therapy- but the fear of being rejected is something that is very real for me. -
Im Not Ashamed But Need Help Coping With Questions I Dont Want To Answer...
Losingitforgood! replied to LorenaVaca's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im having my surgery in the hospital I work at- so the people who will be caring for me are my co workers. I am pretty open with everyone- although there has been a few ( like my MIL) I have held off on telling. She always is always suggesting diets and other programs she hears about on Dr. Oz and the Dr's. She just loves telling me about other peoples success. (although oddly enough she is overweight herself and has yet to lose an ounce from her suggestions). I don't really know what she has against WLS- but she has her opinion. I don't really care- this procedure is not about her decision- its about mine!!! -
Ww (Weight Watchers)
Losingitforgood! replied to MK1986's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I did WW for mine- I had to see my Dr every month also. I told him I was following the program (not attending meetings- but i was weighing in a few times a month.) My Dr. noted it in my chart- along with my weight, and my physical activity. I have Cigna, and it states right in the policy that this is acceptable. -

Paperwork Officially Submitted To Cigna.
Losingitforgood! posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got a call today from my insurance coordinator at my surgeons office. My file was faxed and the office just recieved conformation from Cigna that they recieved my file! I'm so excited, nervous, anxious I could die! I'm not very patient- so everyone wish me a quick smooth approval. -
Welcome! My paperwork was submitted Monday to Cigna- I've called daily and they keep telling me it's a 5 day turn around. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I hope I get good news tomorrow- or Monday by the latest. Have you called at all?
