Finally in "One-derland" Yes! Yes!

I know the feeling, My cousin and my grandmother died the first week of February. My grandmother and I were extremely close. I can't seem to get it together. I haven't logged my food like I usually do every day. I haven't gained, I did lose 2 pounds considering. However my sugar levels have been through the roof. I go this friday for my monthly follow-up and I don't really feel up to going. There are times that I am not hungry and don't eat much, and then there are times where I eat things that I know I shouldn't, I get this urge when I think of my grandmother. I've been sick with and awful cold for two weeks, my husband and I are having problems financially and in our marriage. and I am at my wits end. I am trying to maintain. I refuse to gain back any of the 62 pounds that I have lost. Please keep me in prayer.

I purchased a suit for my grandmothers funeral....size 16 top and bottom, YES!!!!!. I haven't worn a size 16 since high school. This is the only thing that I bought since losing weight, other and scrubs for work. So proud of myself.

You will do fine, after the surgery it's kind of like "buyers remorse" But just hang in there. It will get easier with each passing day, and when you start to see those pounds melt away you will be so thankful that you made this decision. It's one of the best decisions of my life and I love my New Life Journey. Good luck, I know that you can and will reach your goal. -
Just banded yesterday

Protein! Protein!Protein!...Congrats on your New Life Journey -
I am extremely pleased with my decision to get the Band. Again, we have to work the band, the band doesn't work us, it's only a tool just like a pencil if we don't pick it up to write, it's not going to write on it's own. WE only get out of it what we put into it.

Renee2817 replied to lovely29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You look amazing, keep up the good work. I am down 60lbs and don't see it either. My husband tells me all the time how great I look and how much weight that I have lost. For some reason we continue to see our old selves, as if we don't deserve to be healthy and thin. I know that you will meet your goal and beyond. Good luck with your New Life Journey. -
what did you wear in the hospital?
Renee2817 replied to dolphintattoo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Where I had my surgery, they have special made gowns for WLS patients. They are the best, no breeze, it a house coat type of gown, it even had pockets. Good Luck on your New Life Journey! -
I had my lap band surgery in May 2012, I've lost 59 pounds since then, the past few months my weight loss has slowed down to about 4 pounds a month, I still have good restriction, however I have never had a fill. Wondering if it's time to have one, due to the slow weight loss? I have 53 lbs to get to my goal weight, which I as hoping to reach by my one year anniv. Also I am diabetic, which also affects the amount of weight you lose due to having to take insulin. Any thoughts?

Good Luck with your New Life Journey....It's your journey and no one else. I am more than certain that you will succeed on your New Journey. -
Thanks for the feed back guys. My doctor tells me this each month, but as you know well all want the weight to fall off over night. I will be content that I am still losing without a fill, I will increase my activity level soon, I had gallbladder surgery 1 week ago. Thanks again.
-
My gas pain was horrible after my lap band surgery. I was in sooo much pain. I just recently had my gallbladder out and the pain was no where near what I went through with the lap band. Remember that we are all different and our bodies react in different ways. Congrats on your New Life Journey!, I know that you will do great.

6 months in and titallt disgusted
Renee2817 replied to gloriasaul's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It seems that you do not really have the support of your doctors. I would talk with my insurance and find someone else, that has concern in their patients. Good Luck. -
My son bought me the wii fitness for christmas, i had to have gallbladder surgery soon after, so haven't really had the chance to use it, I will be using everyday after my post-op on the 25th. I am so looking forward to it.
-
I am 6 months post op and have to have gallbladder surgery. Has anyone else have this issue if so, did you experience any weight gain? I am 58 pounds down and don't want all of my hard work to go to waste.
-
Had my surgery on yesterday, A little pain and soreness today, I really want to exercise but have to wait about 2 weeks. Hoping the soreness doesn't last too long.
-
I know that you do have to have 6 months of dieting, which can include weight watchers, as long as you have proof that you tried other options with little success. Good luck in your new life journey. Because I work at the hospital that performed my surgery, I didn't require the 6 months.

Need Daily Weigh-in Email Buddy
Renee2817 replied to losangelesislovely's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have 54 lbs to go, feel free to email me. I also am obsessed with weighting my self every morning. -
I woke up about 4 in the morning with this awful pain in my chest, thought it was something I ate, I called my doctor who thought that I might have had something stuck and told me to come into the office, The nurse came in and said that she was going to take fluid out of the band, I informed her that I never had a fill, she asked if I still had my gallbladder I told her I did, after the doctor did the exam he, told me to go the the ER because it was probable my gallbladder.

Has anyone else had problems with altered taste
Renee2817 replied to Kizimodoe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I experienced the same thing after being banded in May 2012, The taste of water was even awful. I ate very little due to this. My main meals were applesauce and protein shakes. I invested in a PUR water pitcher so that I could get water. It's been 8 months and my taste hasn't come back completely, the taste of red meat is awful and before the surgery I loved a good steak. In time they will come back just be patient. Good luck to you. You will do great. -
