    48 hour pouch test

You drink shakes for 2 days and the second day for supper you eat baked chicken. You put 8 ozs on your plate and slowly chew and eat until you feel fullness. This is supposed to reset your ability to feel restriction. I hope this helps me get back on track. Thank you for the encouragement.
  2. I am 2 1/2 yrs post op. I had lost 108 lbs. At this point in my journey I have gained back 19 lbs. this has to stop. I have a closet full of clothes that are soooooo tight, it is miserable to get dressed. I started the 48 hour pouch test today to get myself back on track. I hope to loose the 19 lbs by Dec 15. I am telling you all this for encouragement and any suggestions on how to get through this next 48 hours. Thank you in advance.

    Question!

I had sleeve surgery almost 3 yrs ago. I lost a total of 108 lbs when I evened out. I was satisfied and so happy with my success. I went from a 24-26 clothing to a 14. This was great and I filled my walkin closet with size 14. Now since Jan of this year I started gaining. I am up 19 lbs as of today. Very depressing. My clothes are all tight and I feel miserable. My question is, "Does the sleeve stretch"? I know I have to get back to all Protein again but as everyone knows that was extremely overweight that is easier said then done. Once I let carbs back in at the beginning of this year I crave them so. If it stretched I guess I am out of luck. Looking forward to your info.

    Stress incontinence

Same here. I have 3 children but I'm 68 yrs old. Had the same problem with stress incontenence like you. I no longer have that issue since I lost 90 lbs. I can't remember exactly when it got better, but there is a light at the end of the weight loss, ha ha.

    Surgery Now or Later?

You are lucky you do not have to wait 6-12 months like the majority of us have to wait. I started March 2012 and didn't have surgery till Nov 2012. You sound from your post that you are not really sure you want this surgery. If this is true WAIT. Make sure you are ready Or you may regret your decision. I was sure I wanted this but my family, especially one son, was not. Now 2 and 1/2 yrs later and 90 lbs down they know it was the right decision. Follow your heart.

    Calling All Sixties!

I posted on here 2 yrs ago. Would like to hear from all that were on here before and how you are doing now 2 yrs later. I got to goal in 18 months. I went up and down 3 lbs for a long time. Then I let sugar back in and chips and the bad habits returned. At this point I have gained 18 lbs back. I need to go back to basics. I went from a size 24 down to a 14 and have a walk in closet of clothes that are tight now. Very depressing. I have posted to see how others have done after all this time. I hope better than me.
  7. SUGAR!!!! I am almost 3 yrs out. I lost 108 lbs but I am gaining it back because of the evil dragon. I am up 18 lbs and so disgusted. It is because of sweets. It seems every time I eat I want something sweet after. But one bite of sweet and a little is never enough. I need to do away with it entirely. I wish sugar made me ill. If you find a way let me know.

    GAS!

Help me. I am almost 2 yrs out. For the past 6 months gas has been terrible. Every time I eat or drink anything I have terrible gas and belching. It is quite embarrassing at times. Then out of the blue last week I vomited what looked like coffee grounds. I called my dr the next day and he told me to go to the emergency room. They did blood work and a fecal test and all came back fine. They told me to go to a gastrointestinal dr and have an upper GI because it could be an ulcer. Naturally it takes more than a week to get in. I have an appointment next Monday. Has anyone had this gas issue?
  9. Please, veterans some advice here. I am 2 yrs post op. I made it to my goal of 167 in about 15 months. It was slower than most but I did not exercise due to other issues. I gave myself a 3 lb leeway, 167 -170 . Today I weighed 171 and am really scared. As a lifetime obese person I can only think I will gain it all back. I know I will really try for this not to happen but the fear is still there. I am so thin in my eyes and I enjoy every minute of it. I have loaded my closet with all clothes in my size now, all the rest are gone. Please is anyone else having these thoughts and problems?

    Cancer! PRAYERS please

I am doing great. Down to my goal and concentrating on staying here. My husband is doing fantastic. He had a really bad year and in and out of the hospital several times. Now he is finally stabilized and doing more things daily. All the prayers from everyone here really helped. My oldest son, 44 years old, passed away unexpected in Feb. He had one daughter, my only granddaughter. We as a family made it thru this personal tragedy and my husbands illness. We are all on the mend now. Hope your life is continuing to be great.

    60+ sleevers please help

I started this thread almost 20 months ago. I have lost 108 lbs. I am so glad I went thru with this. I went from taking 150 units of insulin a day to NONE. This is the best thing that has happened. I wear a size 14 pants and a L shirt from a 24 1/2. XX. It took me 15months to get to goal. I did not exercise, not able. Had surgery Nov 2012 at age 66 (two days after my birthday). I am still on all other medications but I am glad the insulin is gone. It is such a joy to shop. So many choices in smaller sizes. I wore plus sizes most of my adult life. Looking into plastics for my arms and breasts. Have an appointment. We will see. Thought I would post this just in case any older folks are on the fence about having this surgery. Don't wait, do it. Life is too short to waste not being able to get around. Best of luck to all.
  12. Had sleeve surgery 16 months ago. About 5 months ago I got back into occasionally over eating, mainly snak food. This is when I started to throw up. I don't do that anymore but I still get nauseated and must throw up immediately. I am 6 lbs from my goal weight. I got sick on lettuce the other day and threw up. Has anyone else had this issue? I am afraid I will keep losing after I get to goal. How much does everyone eat at this level? I only eat twice a day and I eat very little. I can not eat more times a day because I am so full. Suggestions!
  13. It has been a slow go for me but finally a very big milestone. 100 lbs gone. Not able to exercise but still I have been successful. 9 lbs to go to my personal goal. My hubby said he always thought this was the easy way to lose weight but after he saw all I have gone thru he realizes it still takes a lot of work. Best of luck to everyone. You can do it if I can.
  14. 14 months out. 30-30-30 rule on drinking; vitamins. These are the two I still do faithfully.

    Esophagus pain (I think!)

Why didn't you ask the medical people at the hospital? 1 week post op everything is still swollen. Best of luck.
