Today is my first day of "mushies".
mokee commented on A_New_Lily's blog entry in Rainicornicopia: An Unabridged History of the Rainicorns
The veggies you chose are ones very hard to digest. Are they on your food plan this early out? Keep things very soft and easy to digest. Your stomach is not healed at the earliest 6 weeks. -
How do you stall if you never start?
mokee replied to A_New_Lily's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Drinking enough fluids? Enough protein? I know, same old questions. You will lose. Your body is probably in shock trying to hold onto whatever it can so you don't starve to death. Just continue your plan and forget about the scale. Are your clothes getting loose? Are your feet and legs swollen? Maybe you haven't lost the water weight from surgery. Best of luck to you. Make sure and tell us what happens in a month from now. -
Newbie here with a gyn question
mokee replied to debi991's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Schedule a gny appointment after work. What about a Sat? I would have this done before I had VSG. If you explain the situation to your gyno they may make you an appointment after their normal hours. It doesn't hurt to speak up. -
Where is this held in Las Vegas and dates? I am going to be in Las Vegas soon.

You look fantastic. You must be very smart also to have done this life changing surgery when you are so young. Best of luck to you.

18 months & 175# lost (photo)
mokee replied to BenisaMartim4's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Remarkable! Happy birthday. So you did lose after a year? I am worried about this because I have strayed big time and have stopped losing. At least not gaining. I was hoping that I could get back on the wagon and lose the last 24 lbs. Please tell how this worked for you. -

Your experience is so different than all the other posts I have read. Thank you for posting this to give others that are contemplating surgery in Mexico a heads up. Glad you are doing well now. -
My thyroid was removed awhile back. I will be on meds forever. I am 9 months out and the only thing that has changed is my pill has been reduced in milligrams. Dr may have to test more as weight comes off.

Anyone had issues with gout?
mokee replied to Believe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Husband is 68 and has had gout since late 20's. He is on allopurinol and cholcicine daily. Maybe you should go back to dr and get put on a daily regemine of medication. I know over the yrs the amounts had to be changed for him because he would have attacks but remission is but a pill away. -
Why in the world would you want this?

I'm 9 months out and having a problem of actually getting nauseated and then throwing up. Sometimes it is because I ate too much. Other times I am trying to pinpoint why. I thought since I did not have any problems for so long that I was home free. Been happening for about 6 weeks now.

Ruptured disc and back surgery in the midst of battling Cigna
mokee replied to catobird1225's topic in Insurance & Financing
This happened to me in 1987. I was in so much pain at work I finally caved in and went to go home. It was night shift on an early Friday morning before Memorial Day weekend. I walked half way out and my legs lost feeling and I grabbed a railing so I did not fall. I was taken to hospital and a neurosurgeon came in. Because of the holiday he couldn't even run the appropriate tests. I could not walk. I laid in that bed for 5 days before they did the surgery. Most painful surgery I ever had. By the grace of god I had lost some weight at that time and was down to 224 instead of my normal at that time of life of 250. Best of luck to you. -
You are doing great, keep up the good work.

Try to sit her down face to face as an adult and tell her how her actions make you feel. Then the ball is in her court. If she does not try to rectify her actions in some way then you know she must truly hate you. But she is still your relative and you must try to kill her with kindness until she eventually catches on. Best of luck. It is always so much better when you get along.

What is the outfit you dream about wearing after you slim down ?
mokee replied to leslie1958's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A white glove leather short jacket with a fur trimmed hood. Pair of white fitted jeans with a pair of fur lined white letter boots. I can sit in a ski lodge and look like I belong or go out and shop. Probably shop Ha Ha. -
Stomach stretched a little at 8 mpnths
mokee replied to mariamitani's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 9 months out and sometimes I can eat a whole sandwich. Other times I can barely eat the filling in a sandwich and a few bites of the bread. It depends on the day, who knows. Maybe this is the way normal people eat. I see thin people throw away a lot of there food sometimes and not so much at other times. Maybe I am becoming more normal LOL. -
