  1. What a transformation! You look incredible. Tell us how you are maintaining and what you are eating now. Are you staying within what window of weight?
  2. I would be more concerned about the staples they use on the stomach. Make sure you make this a priority question to the surgeon.
  3. All things that are bad. Potato chips, chocolate, ice cream. It is so very hard to stay away from these things. I do indulge occasionally and that is why I am not at goal yet. Apparently I know how to maintain my weight because I can not get below 191. So this is a good thing to know for whenever I get to goal.
  4. Type II for 20 yrs. Was on 150 units insulin, 4 shots a day and 1000 ml metforin twice a day. A1C ran about 8.9. Now after 9 mo post op take 15 units twice a day and same metforin. Don't know current A1C but numbers are running 110 in mornings. I am older through, 66, so that has something to do with this. Best of luck to all. I hope it works for you.
  5. All you need is yourself. I was in the hospital 2 days and I did not even open the suitcase.

    Hello -New to this site

You are not healed. You could cause yourself to have a leak. Only eat what they say until you are healed and that will be 6 plus weeks out.
  7. Who did your plastics? You look great.
  8. Last Weds they did a biopsy on my husband's lung. It was supposed to be a collection of fluid found on a cat scan for another issue. When she came out she said it is possibly cancer. Will not find out until late today or tomorrow. This has been the longest 6 days. Tried to keep him busy and entertained all weekend. Please send your prayers his way. His name is Bill. Thank you everyone. Will let you know what we find out. BTW he had bladder cancer and cancer in his lymph nodes 8 years ago.
  9. Never heard of this. Is this something this dr is experimenting with? Interested to know why you are considering this.

    Not eating enough

Are you a male? Beware! I was losing regularly at 800 cal. At 4 months out the NUT told me to increase to 1200 because my metabolism would slow down. What a mistake that was for me. It was very hard eating that much and the weight loss slowed way down. I am stuck at 9 months out with 23 lbs to go. If I had it to do over I would have continued doing what I was doing until I was at goal. If you are a male maybe you need more. This is just my experience.
  11. I tried to use the card in a buffet in Fl. The girl just laughed and said they could not do that. I was so angry that I stormed out. My poor husband wanted to eat though and he had to leave also. I have never used it before or after. Usually I eat off of his plate or do an appetizer. All you can eat places are out for me. I refuse to pay $10-$20 for a meal I can only eat a few bites of.

    WAITING AND GETTING ANTSY

You should have nformed them of your time off in Oct. then maybe they would expedite things.

    Day 19 and discouraged

This is the time of the first of many stalls. Just keep following your plan and hide the scale.
  16. I pray God blesses you with a speedy recovery.
  17. You are doing great. I would have had Dr C if I lived in N Ca. I know he is a great Dr but what I hear from some of his patients on these sites is very disturbing. It seems he is very critical of everyone. You are at the normal stall. You must have read about it. Everyone has this happen to them usually at 3-4 weeks out. You look great and have lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks WOW. Just keep doing what your program calls for and turn a deaf ear to the Dr when he is so negative.
  18. You are so very lucky. I have had diabetes for 20 yrs and on insulin for 2 yrs at time of surgery. Mine did not go away just improved. Do not take as much insulin as I did before. But you just being diagnosed, Will more than likely be diabetic free very soon after surgery. Good thing you had all your ducks in a row for the surgery before you got diabetes. Best of luck to you and also very happy for you.

    Approval Letter Verbiage?

Let your surgeons office worry about all of this. I never had anything to do with the insurance and my dr's office took care of it all.

    November Sleeves 2012

Nov 28 2012. Down 84 lbs but have not lost any significant weight in 4 months. I am eating the wrong foods which is my fault. I am not gaining thank God. Just a note to newbees, stay on your plan until you reach your goal, it is very very hard to get back on track when you falter. What about you "overweight" how are you doing? You asked us and did not say anything about yourself.

    Cruise 6 weeks after surgery

You will be fine. Food will not be the focus of the trip for you. I was released to all foods at 6 weeks out just could not eat much at all. Also some foods don't agree with you at this early time. Enjoy all the activities and the people. Have a great time.
  25. Aren't you on a PPI? I had to sign a paper before surgery that I would probably have acid reflux after surgery and I do. I am 9 months out and occasionally stop the pill to see if it is gone and within 2 days I have to take it again.
