Finally! I Meet With My Surgeon Tomorrow!
mokee replied to CandiKiss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
depends on what your insurance requests. It can be as much as 3-6 months is what I am reading. There are all kind of testing and nutritionists meetings. I am into it 1 month and with my insurance maybe sometime in October I hope. This first month has been many different tests. Good luck and we will make it. -
My House Is Vacation Central
mokee commented on tmorgan813's blog entry in A funny thing happend while I was loosing weight
You should write a book. You are too young to know who Erma Bombeck was but she wrote like you about everyday life experiences. I enjoyed your short story. Give one of her books a try after your company leaves you will see what I mean. Mokee -

You are so normal from what I have been reading for over a month now. Congrats to you . I just started my journey and don't have surgery for awhile. But losing 100 lb in a year is quite an accomplishment. I'm sure you will make your goal.

Any Change Post Op On Edema In Calves?
mokee replied to proctor67's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Proctor you look soooo much like my son. You are the same weight also. If I didn't know better, I would think someone took a twin I had somewhere else LOL. I took him to one of the meetings and he was not at all interested. He gets celluitis all the time in his legs and is laid up for weeks. He says he has no other health issues but that is hard to believe. He is a smoker though and he would have to stop that, I am having the sleeve even at my age because of so many health issues. I try to tell him it is coming all the cronic things that are no fun. Diabetes, hbp, high cholesterol. I would be interest in hearing your story. Best of luck, Mokee -
This Was Supposed To Be A Great Day.
mokee replied to milkD's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My grandson at age 8 had his first seizure in a pizza shop. It scared my son to death. He has been on medicine for the past 4 years and now they took him off. From his MRI he only has a small chance of a seizure again. It has been a year and so far so good. I know your son is a little one but seizures are scary. He needs a strong healthy Mom. He will be fine. Best of luck on your surgery. Mokee -

I Feel That People Judge Me Ar Work Because Of My Weight....our Is It Me Judging Myself Through There Eyes?
mokee replied to dooter55's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel the same way all the time. When I go into restaurants or anywhere there are others. At least there are a lot of us now ithat are overweight than it was 20 or 30 years ago. Sometimes when someone is forced to sit next to you in an office or other place they kind of move all the way to the side of their chair as if the fat may rub off on them. These same people will want to be your friend when you lose weight. How absurd it that? -
If you are already sleeved now you will be RUN a whole marathon by then LOL.

Next summer I want to be able to walk with my friends and keep up in stead of feeling like an indentured servant, Join in the ball games with the grandkids and dogs, Sounds like we both have a lot to work for. When is your surgery? Mine won't be until after thanksgiving.

I think he means if you use canned fruit it should be packed in its own juice with no sugar. Fresh fruit is fine.

Are you taking any diabetic medications. If so adjust accordingly. You should stop until you see your doctor.

Low Bmi-Ers, Happy With Bougie Size? Any Regrets?
mokee replied to mattr2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said it is not so much the boogie size but it is how close the doctors staple to the boogie. He says he uses a 34 but staples out from the boogie. -

Since we have the same surgeon remember the person you went to for the psyc evaluation. Maybe you could visit her again. I go for mine on Monday and was thinking about going in to see her a couple of times a month to address the same thing. I have been extremely overweight my whole life except for 4-5 years when I starved myself. I was not raped or abused that I can recall so that is not it. But since you are having these problems I had better address them before I have the surgery. Thanks so much for sharing. I was just thinking today how am I going to give up fast food????????? I want to be healthier but when we were raised to live to eat instead of eat to live we have a harder way to go.

Looking good!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hard for you to believe the changes??????????????? Keep it up..
