Lost A Man, Gaining A New Life, All In Divine Order.
mokee commented on Peace36love's blog entry in Peace36love's Blog
You still have us here. We care. -
You will do just fine. It sounds like you are ready. You will be in my prayers. No need to ever tell anyone if you don't want too. It can be a family secret. Nothing says you have to broadcast it to the world. I am pre=op and a lot older than you and let me tell you we all have all the fears you are having but if you read enough posts here you should see all the people that have so bettered their lives with this surgery. We all have to take it one step at a time. Need to try our very best and use this site as our place to tell our fears, problems, accomplishments to share, and any thing else that comes to mind. Best of luck on your journey.

Getting Sleeved Today And Can't Sleep
mokee replied to Ready4success's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Best of luck and prayers your way are coming. -
What she said LOL. Seriously I also am pre-op and have one more hoop to jump the heart doctor. I feel like I have been on a track crawling along trying to get in all things they want done. Now I am a month away and he says yesterday for the first time mind you "We need you to at least walk everyday (no matter how much pain I am in) and loose 2-4 lbs. or the surgery will be postponed. All these months to hear this. Truthfully I have not lost a lb in 10 years. I just gain that is why I am here. Should I shave my head LOL. Maybe that will be enough weight. I am telling you all this because it is hard and they want it to be hard. This surgery is nothing to be taken lightly But if it wasn't for this site I would have not even gotten this far. The encouraging posts that I read everyday and the all the lives that have been changed daily. That can be us and it will. You are not lazy. Sometimes people think we are lazy because we are depressed and can't function like they do. Someday they will have their turn in some other way. Hope we can forgive what they have said. Best of luck to you and please come and tell all, we can help.

Strange Hard Things Under My Skin....?
mokee replied to Dooter's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
GOOD ONE DOOTER LOL -
You and I are about the same size. I am twice your age through. I wish there had been a way for me when I was your age. And lucky you a husband that wants to pursue the same avenue. You only have to tell the people you want to tell. It does not have to be on a billboard. Go to different WLS seminars in your area and research/research for the procedure that is right for you and the surgeon with most experience with this procedure. Usually the nutrition is done in the surgeon's group. They handle all the hoops you must go through. Try to go to a Center of Bariatric Excellence. They are certified for bariatric surgery. Read everything you have time for on this site. The people here will help in any way and you learn alot about the sleeve just by reading all the posts. But feel free to ask anyone anything and they are all willing to answer. Best of luck and let us know how things are going.

Self-Pay: Any Good Packages In Ca?
mokee replied to bynny's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Everything I've heard and read is that Dr Cirangle is the best in San Francisco. I so wish I was close but I am in Ohio. I don't believe he is that expensive but people say his expertise is worth every penny. He has been doing the sleeve for 10 years or longer, a lot more than most in the eastern US. His success rate is very good so I have read. I called his nurse a few months ago and was willing to travel out there and stay for awhile but my insurance would pay nothing. Something about not living in Ca. Look him up and he also has a video of a sleeve that he did from beginning to end. -
I'm at the other end of life. I am 65 but I feel the same way as you. My doc doesn't require any amount of weight loss before surgery but I feel as if I should loose something. I keep trying and then by the end of the day i screw up. You are very young so are you able to exercise? If so exercise as hard as you can and do what you like to do. Eat 5 small meals that are healthy and you will loose. I know you can do it. Then after the surgery you will not be hungry at least not physically. Any of us can do something for a very short time and mid Oct is just around the corner. Let us know how you are doing. We are all here to help.

Both of you are so brave. I am 65 and am going to go thru this soon. You both have your whole life ahead of you. You both will suceed and be free from all the weight that is holding you both back. I also have been very hard on myself all these years and still am. I don't even know if it is too late for me but I am going to try. I am so tired of life passing me by and being in terrible pain day in day out. You are both young and the bad stuff has not happened to you yet. I will pray for both of you and please keep in touch.

Kansas City Bariactrics..rude!
mokee replied to PiggyPantsPaige's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If things are going this bad, why not change doctors if you are self pay. If they are this disorganized now before surgery, what if it goes this way during and after the fact. Something to think about. -
I Now Have To Get Serious About Surgery. What Was I Thinking?
mokee commented on Chills562's blog entry in Chills562's Blog
Same for me. Sugar is my down fall. I can't imagine not having it. So how will I ever do this? I have to get something straight real soon. The clock is ticking for me. I quit smoking after 35 years cold turkey (stayed quit for 12 years now), you would think I could give up my favorite foods. I really need everyone's help also. -
I also read how great they were. Especially the high protein one. I asked what was in it. They said you could have 2 fruits. I asked what about plain and they said no you wouldn't like it that way. So I picked blueberry and strawberry and couldn't see how they made it. Started home and tasted it and it was so sweet. Now this is a place that claims to be health food. I called their 800 # when I got home. I was told that they put only enough sugar in the fruit to help preserve it. Lots of carbs. You would think health food they used fresh fruit. What a misrepresentation. Not for me ever again.

No loose skin on you. You look great. Good job.

What Is Your Most Embarrassing Moment At Restaurant
mokee replied to SlevieNicks's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I truly believe that they should teach servers in restaurants to have more compassion. My husband and myself are both overweight in other words fat. 2 out of 3 times they try to put us in a small booth. It should be in training if fat people come in put at a table. It's as if they can not see. -
