Hi all, I am getting down to the time when I need some answers from all you post-opers. Who out there had any of these painful considtions before surgery? I don't mean the obvious knee pain or back pain from the weight. I mean diabetic nerve pain and just pain everywhere to the extent you could not do many things. I am in a pain scale of 6-8 on a good day every day. I am in a lot of pain and it keeps me from exercising or even walking. Has the surgery helped anyone that has these seriious conditions? I need to know because it is getting time for me to decide go ahead and get the sleeve or forget it. I have diabetes and I also am on insulin and I am hoping that this will do away with the insulin for me also. All my hoops are over and I am down to my last NUT visit. It will be time to turn into insurance and make a surgery date. Really need some advise from all you veteran sleevers. I'm been reading this sight for 3 months now and giving my opinion here and there. This sight is the only one that kept me going. I would have stopped a long time ago. HOPE YOU ALL CAN HELP ME THANKS

You have come a long way baby. Look back at how far you have come. And stepping out of your comfort zone to even go on a date it quite an accomplishment. Keep up the good work and pretty soon your will be wearing single digits.

You look fantastic. What a beautiful smile you both have. You are doing fantastic. -
You made it through the surgery part and all the hoops before. You have to be proud of that. Keep that in mind as you get into small struggles along the way. You are doing very well. I hope in 2 months after my surgery I am doing as well. God bless and count very little progress as a giant hurtle because it has been.

Ereneeth, Your pictures are amazing. You look amazing. Looks as if all your skin in your arms went back. If I lived closer I would have went with Dr Cirangle also. It seems that all the ones that have him finish to goal and look great. And you are definitely one of them.

Oh please tell me that some of the cravings for sugar go away after surgery. I am hoping that I will not crave it so bad after my diabetes is gone Hopefully. Please get back on track. You don't want to be that heavy ever again. I hope I have the strength to do the same after surgery. -
How Long Are You Going To Wait Before You Have Wls?
mokee replied to Suzannesh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I got my surgery date yesterday. It is Nov 28, 2 days after my 66th birthday. I am glad I read your post because I keep thinking I am too old for this. But I guess as long as there is breath in our bodies we have to do something to improve our lives. Thank you again. Best of luck to you. -
I got my date yesterday, Nov 28, 2 days after my birthday. I also have 2 close relatives birthdays within this 2 week period. Holiday and birthdays will be a lot different. Good luck.

Here it is 3+ months of hoops and finally passed everything. Met with Dr yesterday and got a date of Nov 28. Finally a date but still 2 months off. I still have hoops the way it sounds. I have 2 more appointments before the surgery and I'm sure a physical will be required by my PCP. Will call and find out today. Also found out for all Medicare people out there that they are finally paying for the sleeve. The Dr's insurance admin said they have been paying for about 3 weeks. All I have to say is. Everyone going through all the tests, prods, sticks, pokes it will come to an end ( I was begining to wonder myself). Now I will really need you guys help, this is when it is getting real. Any words of encouragement is appreciated.

I Feel As Though I Am Going To Fail At This Like All The Other Times... Any Encouraging Words?!?
mokee replied to Malisima69's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just got my date yesterday so I can only imagine how you must feel being so close to surgery. Remember all the posts you have read that said "Wish I had done this sooner". You will be saying this in a couple of months. You will not fail. You will follow what your doctor says. Best of luck to you and keep up posted. -
Been fat my whole life except for a very few years. Read my last Blog. It has been so long since I was anything close to normal ( never was normal) I don't know what it will feel like. My weight and my age and the pain I am in has made me depressed and a recluse. I find out tomorrow if the doctor will do the surgery and it will go to the insurance for approval. Everyone please say a prayer for me.

We will all be here to help you in any way we can. I also need all the support I can get. Not much in my personal life.

I am also addicted to food. Food when I am happy and food when I am sad. Any kind of emotion I want food. Especially carbs. I quite smoking after 35 about 12 years ago so why can't I quit eating the wrong foods. You licked smoking and drinking, you are very strong also. It is not easy. I hope together with the help of this group and with prayer we can do it. Best of luck to you and keep in touch.

A Little About Me And Where I Am On This Journey
mokee commented on StrongMommy's blog entry in StrongMommy's Blog
Everyone is here for you. Just a click away. Do as Apatters said, sound like a plan. -
You are doing great. Me as a pre-oper would be sooooooooooooo happy to be under 200 lbs. I haven't seen that in over 40 years. And to be able to exercise and even walk a long way would be a great thing for me. You just keep on doing what you are doing and move move move. You will be just fine.
