Ohio pays for the sleeve. Mine was paid for by Medicare.

I take the batiatric fusion chewable vit and you take 3 a day. The mixed berry does not taste bad. It seems like a lot of vit but my nut says we need that much.

A heating pad helped me. The pain lasted less than a week.

In need of some help...
mokee replied to nck12nicholspd's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Leave the glue alone. It will come off when you are totally healed. I have never had bleeding or infection at my 5 incisions. I use menderma for the scars. -

Newbie...and a little frightened
mokee replied to nygurl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You do not need all those details now. You have a long journey and many things to go thru to get to the surgery. It is major surgery and changes the way you eat forever. I am 5 weeks post op and have lost 33 lbs. I wish they had had this surgery when I was your age. My life would have been so much different and healthier. I am 66 with many illnesses and I hope as time goes on they improve. Go to the seminar, read posts here as often as possible, and make an educated opinion. Best of luck. -

I had bcbs also ans had to do the 90 days. It did not help me because I kept thinking this is my last meal. I was warned by the dr the last month that i had to lose at least 2 to 4 lbs or he would not do the surgery. Well I did and now I am 5 weeks post op and down 33 lbs. I had Medicare also and just got a statement that Medicare paid most of the hospital bill but bcbs paid 2000 of the hospital, was worth the time. -
Why would they kick you out. you need to talk to them and be up front about this issue. You need them now more than ever and they could definitely learn from you.. Maybe they are afraid you are going to lecture them about their weight. We can guess all kinds of things but you need to talk it out and get to the bottom of it.

I believe that popcorn is what they call a slider food and does not make you full.

Good for you. Isn't it funny how we all equate normal to be something different? Usually it is the pple that we look up to. The so called pretty pple that have the looks, the good jobs, the great family lives and many friends. But just maybe we are the normal ones, ever think about that. Best of luck on your journey.

You need nothing. I brought all this stuff and never oppened the bag. You are drugged up and if you are not sleeping you are walking. You have an IV all the while you are there so even a robe can not be put on. You need like a pair of sandles with a hard sole to walk in. Slides that are easy to put on. That is it.

Well today 3 weeks ago I had my surgery. For the past 2 days my son and his family plus 2 dogs are staying with us for four day while they are having their kitchen remodeled. I love having them here but I must sit with them over a big meal every night and I can not eat it. I guess after 5 weeks of so little food and not eating is really getting to me. Well they brought hugh chocolate chip Cookies for their dessert. As we were playing a game last night they started to eat them. Later when everyone was in bed I was on the computer and went out and got a cookie and ate the whole thing. My God it is starting already. My love for crap carbs is coming out already. Sad truth is my sleeve accepted it without a twinge. I am also diabetic so my blood sugar went sky high this morning. What is wrong with me. I can not have gone through all of this and go back to all my old habits. I need support.

Well today is the end of another Christmas. I count my blessings everyday. My whole immediate family showed up Cristmas Eve. We ate a fun meal, well at least they did, I am only 3 weeks out. Then proceded to open all the presents and then played games. A very enjoyable evening. I was given some smaller clothes and some of them fit. That was fun. Mainly I wanted to tell everyone Merry Christmas. I hope your day was as great as mine was. I also hope our New Year holds many good surprises for us all.

Greetings from Kuala Lumpur (left arm pain, nausea)

Blenderize tuna, beef, chicken and add spices you would like. Put into ice cube trays and freeze. Pop out and put in bags for use later. Then you can grab out of freezer and put in microwave and eat slowly 2 oz. Do this for awhile with your Protein shakes and you will not get sick. eggs should be on your food list at this point. A litttle low fat cheese. Low fat cottage cheese. Stick to these easy to digest things and you should not get sick. Jello, peaches blenderized like the meat above. Just try to find low sugar things. Can't you buy sugar free things off the internet. Sugar free jello, crystal lite. You must stay away from sugar and starches at this point in order to lose your optimun weight. Good luck to you on your journey. Also I forgot drink 64 oz of liquids a day which since you do not have sugar free you need to do mostly Water and then decaf coffee or tea or broth. -

Get ready to start fighting the biggest battle of you life. Changing your relationship with food. It is not easy but I hope it is worth it. I am only 3 weeks out.
-
You are getting close. Mine stopped about 4 days out. Just a little pulling after that. I am 3 weeks out and if I bend to pick up something or move in a fuuny way it will still hurt.
-
This will pass at the 3 week mark. I don't have it anymore and I was like that also.

Luv2liz: I am 3 weeks out also. I have felt the same way you do at times. I promised myself before surgery that no matter what happened I would not regret doing this. It was my choice and mine only. In fact my husband did not want me to do it. I did it to get off of the mega amounts of insulin I was on. My sugar was fine at the 2 week mark but has progressively gotten higher and is so high now that I will not heal properly. My endo put me on a different pill and it doesn't seem to be working. I see insulin in my future again and this makes me very sad. But I will not beat myself up, and will keep on trying because that is all that I can do. So keep your head up, smile and keep on going. I hated the protein also so I got some powdered peanut butter. One TBS mix in the shake takes that taste away. I'm sure you know what taste I am talking about. How about shaved turkey and ham? Eat it very slow and that is so good. I also added cheese but now I am constipated so I wouldn't do that now.
