mokee replied to Sumsuz68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. I am 3 months post op and I eat popcorn, peanuts in moderation. -
Why in the world would we criticize you? Don't you know we have all been in this situation also. Tomorrow is a bright new day. Dust yourself off And get back on plan. One day will not ruin all your progress.

Bracing myself for the impact my sleeve will have on my relationship
mokee replied to sheetmetalgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was normal size when I married an overweight man. But to be fair I was an obese child and in the 8th grade I started to loose weight by a lot of dieting and exercise. His mother was an amazing fattening food cook. I never knew food could taste this good. I also tried very hard by cooking all this fattening food my new husband liked. I got pregnant 3 months in and I gained 60 lbs. never to see under 200 again. I weighed on average 250 lbs for the next 40 years. When I was put on insulin I gained another 25. 10 weeks ago I had sleeve surgery and so far have lost 49 lbs. My dear husband still has not slowed down on eating even though he is 100 lb overweight. My surgeon said a lot of spouses start losing when they see their partner start to slim down. His response when I was scheduling this surgery was well what about my food, what about me. -
As soon as I found out about it I got some and used in my shakes to make them more palatable . I do not know when you can start using it post op.

What has your doctor told you to eat/or what not to eat over the next year?
mokee replied to Johanna1955's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow who is your dr? This is really strict. Seems like you would loose all your weighting in a lot less than a year -
So sorry you are both suffering and do not know where to turn. About 4 years ago I had a band scheduled and for some reason changed my mind. So glad I did. Now I am 10 weeks post op from the sleeve and hope things continue down a good path. I still have trouble with foods that do not agree with me. I suffered for 8 hours yesterday from chili and usually I have no problem with that. Best of luck to you both.

Too many calories! Lower to 800. What about Protein and liquids? You do not mention that. At least 60 protein and try for 64 ozs liquid, I have a problem with liquid myself. Best of luck. -
We are in Florida at the moment. Enjoying the wonderful weather. We were sight seeing and happened upon a very small boutique. In my experience I can never buy anything in these store but I like to look. I noticed this beautiful white summer dress and fell in love. It only came upto XL. Owner said we have a small dressing room. Oh why not. It fit like a dream. So cute. Here I am a 66 year old grandmother buying a cute white dress at a boutique. Who would have ever figured??????
-
I almost did not buy the dress but my husband went in and bought it for me. I would have been the same way you are about the bikini. We have to learn and just buy something we really like and not have to think about it so much.

Mental Changes/depression/mood swings post surgery
mokee replied to CocoM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was very depressed before and now 9 weeks post op I am not depressed at all. The depression lifted for me. -
It will get better by 5 or 6 weeks out. I was having the. Same problem and one day I got up and could just take a drink and drank a half glass in on gulp. My surgeon said some swelling must have gone down in order for me to do that.l Best of luck
