No worries here. You will not want chips for weeks post op. I had food funerals the whole month before pre op diet but when the liquid diet started I did not cheat once. This was the toughest of the diet the 2weeks pre op. in my case after surgery I did not crave any bad foods for couple months. It was great just to eat food again even if it is just an egg. By the 3rd month you may start to crave many of your old foods again but you can learn to substitute and make healthier recipes of your old favorites. It is a process and I am only 4 months post op but I could not eat anything near what I ate before or would I want too. Best of luck. You will do fine.

:( someone keep my mind straight

I am glad. That you are feeling good enough to want to eat. Count your blessings. I surely did not care about any food at 5 days post op. I was struggling to getrotein and fluids in. -
Just went to my endocrinologist today and she said keep the carbs no less than 90. I have been doing between 60 and 90 for awhile now. I am still losing. I have been able to decrease my insulin by 150 units a day. I guess this carb, calorie issue is so different for every person. It seems when I don't lose for a few days I increase or decrease cal or carbs and I lose again.

when can i go back to nornal activity post op?
mokee replied to whitneyb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I got very tired after and was on pain medicine for a week. Everyone is different but my granddaughter is going to nursing school and they do not mess around. If something were to happen you would have to start over and the chance is not worth it. I say wait. You are young and try to do another diet in the mean time. -
Goshen oh suburb of Cinti.

Post-Op 21 Days - Sick and Tired
mokee commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
How big is your sleeve? How in the world can you eat that much this early? We have all been there and I could barely get my protein in and a hard time with liquids. Still at 4 months post op I do not get enough liquids in. My calories are 800-1000 now. Best of luck to you but don't stretch your sleeve eating this much. You are not even healed yet. -
I had food funerals almost everyday the month before surgery but did not cheat once on the 2 week liquid diet and lost 15 lbs. I am doing well now, not as fast as some but at a respectable rate. Everyone handles this differently. It is up to you.

It's funny because I put off buying isopure because everyone said it was disgusting. I like the grape and the fruit punch. They are a lot better than the powder Protein drinks that I forced. Myself to drink early on. I also do not find that anything tastes any different than before surgery. Best of luck.

You have done so well. Go back and start like it is the beginning. I know you can do it, you've done it. Calories under1000 (keep tract my fitness pal). Eat 5 times a day. Go girl, you can do this.

Just asked surgeon the other day if I could take anti-inflamatories again. I have been off of them for 5 months. I have a lot of muscle and bone pain everywhere. I know they would help but he said no because of ulcers.

Keep track of food and water on my fitness pal which you can do anywhere and it surprises you at the calories in some foods. Worth the little effort.

Sounds like diabetes. Nerve neuopopy (not spelled right). Also about the hump on your back. Have you been getting enough calcium? I discussed the vitamin issue with the dr assistant. I am not wild about taking 3 bariatric vitamins a day and a calcium petite the rest of my life. She said I could take 2 over the counter vit but would have to take 5 times as much calcium and take the vit and calcium at different times for it all to be absorbed. I chose to do the bariatrics as I have been. Something to talk to your surgeons office about. I surely hope you feel better real soon. Just trying to make some suggestions.

Chips Cheetos popcorn. It seems you can eat these with not much restriction and you get many unhealthy calories. This is what I understand it to be.

Calories need input on this please

My nutritionalist just told me today to go to 1200 cal and I am only 4 months post op. I have only lost 57 lbs and because of pain I do not exercise much. I don't think I will go that high yet but this may help you. It is worth a try and you can always go back down if it does not work. -
Was off of insulin for 2 weeks after surgery but had to go back on it again, but a lot less. I still take 2000 ml metforin also.

We all went thru the same test. Took about an hour. Supposed to tell by you answers if you are mentally ill. My your reaction I know you are not.

Just brought this up to my nutritionalist today. Not enough liquids, not enough protein, blood pressure could drop or since I am diabetic could be low blood sugar. There is a list now we have to figure it out.

My husband has gout and takes colchicine when he has an attack. Daily he takes colcrys and allopurinol. Colcrys has replaced colchicine. In the past year.

I am out 14 weeks and I can eat anything I want. That is the way it is supposed to work. Just very small portions.

Have an appointment Monday and am 14 weeks out and they are supposed to do blood work then. I am really tired so I hope I am just low on something so I can fix it.

Outraged! Age Discrimination in Medicare coverage of the Sleeve!
mokee replied to scsleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am from s Ohio . I had sleeve nov 28 , 2012 . Medicare paid and I was 66 on surgery day. My surgeon did a lot of personal work to get Medicare to cover sleeve since it passed in June. It took a few months. Don't know what he did but before nov they could not get them to pay till the surgeon stepped in. I was very lucky. -
Sounds like blood pressure dropped. Are you on medicine for that? If so go to PCP and get it checked out.

It is major surgery and the pain when I woke up was the worst. It progressively got better as time went on and the pain meds they gave you will keep it bearable and after about 4 days you will be OK. Most all surgery is painfull but please look at the outcome and forget about the pain. I have lost 54 lbs in 11 weeks. I have never done that before and the pain is a distant memory.
