I only stayed cold the first 2 months and then it kind of stabilized. I no longer freeze all the time.

Me too. My legs and butt are smaller than I ever remember them being. Never lost weight like this before. I figure as time goes on it has to come off stomach. Probably exercise would help in my case. Keep saying I am going to try soon and I never start.

Whats wrong with me ?
mokee replied to canadianchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Water, water, water. Drink as much as you can. That helps a lot. As the prior post said track every morsel that goes in your mouth and stay under 800 cal at this point. Good luck. -
I have to admit for me the pain was very bad when I woke up in recovery and the pain med they were giving me did not touch it. I thought this operation would be minimal pain because they say your stomach will feel no pain and the 5 little incisions would not hurt that bad. But he had to go thru very old scar tissue that was very thick. That was the place they pulled the stomach out of. My surgery lasted an extra 15 min because of this. I was given a choice to stay another day in hospital and I did. I am glad I did because I was getting around a lot better the second day. You may be one of the lucky ones that has no pain. Every surgery is different. That is all a distant memory to me now. I would still do it again. Worth it.

Why does my stomach hurt when I am in bed at night? HELP!
mokee replied to krisann1031's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call your dr. I was in terrible pain the first week but it got better everyday. At that time I took the pain medicine every 6 hours to help me out. Sometimes you have to stay ahead of the pain. Try sleeping in a recliner and see if that helps. Praying for you. -
Yes, call the dr.

Cravings and appetite before surgery.
mokee replied to bcoulton2011's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tell you the truth my wait time was only 3 months but ended up being 5, That last month is when the food funerals started. Everything I loved to eat and every place I liked we went to. I wouldn't say I over ate I just ate what I wanted. But now that I know the calories in restaurant food I probably ate a lot. But the day I started the liquid diet I did not cheat for 2 weeks. I am 5 months out and down 66 lbs. I have not been this low for 40 years. I would do it all over again. Try to get your head straight before you have the surgery. You have to work the program for it to be successful. Keep in touch. -
Vision loss linked to bariatric surgery?!?
mokee replied to jenniesue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am noticing blurred vision also. But I am older and have cataracts and that could be the reason. Interested to know if there is any scientific research for this. -
I lost my thyroid due to cancer. I am and will continue medicine for that forever. I am 5 months post op and down 66 lbs. my medicine for this was reduced and was told possibly reduced more as weight comes off.

Did you cheat on your pre-op liquid diet?
mokee replied to Vinsanity's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I definitely did not cheat at all. This is way too important. You are trying to shrink the fat around the liver so the surgeon can easily move your liver out of the way to do the surgery on stomach. You can do this, many of us have done it. Drink more liquids and think of how good thinner will feel and I can tell you it DOES!!! -
What's done is done. Do what you can to get the liquid in. Get a PPI (acid blocker). Once you are hydrated you will feel so much better. With an acid blocker you will be able to drink without pain. Do it, try.
-
Are you taking a PPI? What did your dr say? You should not feel like this at 1 month out. You should be starting to feel a lot better. Make your dr address these issues before you go back.

After surgery my stomach was very swollen and looked like a mountain range ( it went up an down and looked like craters in places). I did not put clothes on that early so I don't know if they were tight. I stayed in robes. If you are in pain or really concerned call your doctor.

My doctor told me a minimum of 48 oz but try to get more.

Woo hoo, I can't wait to get there. I am a 9 lbs away but it is going real slow. -
Looks like the stack I had a few weeks ago. It took my husband 4 trips to the car for us to take to st Vincent DePaul. Now my closet looks like I have no clothes and really I only have about 6-7 outfits. But that is enough for me.

Best of luck to you and prayers coming your way. Keep us posted.

nervous about how much I can eat
mokee replied to jaycieg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How much can you eat? -
Rtd210. I was the same way as you early out but let me warn you. I am 5 months out now and the horrible cravings are back. At 3 months I introduced crackers to my diet and that is all it took. Then a bite of bread a few of DH fries. Then a taste of his dessert or ice cream. This past week has been a disaster. I have grazed on all the wrong things. Today I literally threw up because of all I ate and I have not thrown up at all during the whole 5 months. I hope this was enough for me to start anew. I was so angry with myself. Just warning everyone that it is so easy to get back into our old habits.

How much did you lose on your 2 week preop diet?
mokee replied to amandalynn76's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
15. Lbs. -
Everyone has the first month. Apparently the changes to the body get the hormones flying. I was a real witch to everyone. I'm surprised my family still talks to me.

I am a CARBOHOLIC sure enough. I also can not eat just one of anything sweet or salty. It is a curse but we have to learn to live with it the best we can. I wish u knew an answer, I would share. The only answer is to not take the first bite. If you find another PLEASE share with me.
