Bathroom Question...
mokee replied to amberrsterling's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had diarrhea for over 5 months after the surgery. I went 2-3 times a day. When they did my blood work I was low in iron. I have been working on that and now I have solid stool. -
Best of luck to all 3 of you. A new beginning and you won't regret it.

(Exercise) Being sleeved June 21st :)
mokee replied to colcol's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery 2 days after my 66th birthday. I weighed 275 and could not do much exercise. I am 6 months out now and lost 69 lbs without exercise. Now it is getting harder to lose. So it is possible, because I did it. At some point like me you will have to exercise. By the way I am on insulin and that makes it harder to lose also. Best of luck. Do what you can but most important follow the recommended diet. -
You'll make it, many of us have.

Post op blood work
mokee replied to BlessedBeyondMeasure2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
4 months post op and I was low in iron. I am getting the iron checked in 2 months. Full blood work again not until 1 yr post op. -
Some use low fat, some believe that they lose better using full fat but less. It is trail and error. See what works best for you. Just make sure you track your calories and protein and carbs. That is very inportant.

I was sleeved 11/28/2012. I had surgery 2 days after my 66 th birthday. I am down 69 lbs and many things have changed for me. . I can walk now without sitting down every 2 minutes, I can shop in the regular women's dept and I love all the choices, no longer need an extender on plane and have couple inches to spare, it seems that everyday there is something new. It is getting a lot harder to lose a pound at 6 months out. I was at 209 for 6 weeks and finally lost 3 lbs in the past few days. I thought the weight loss was over, so glad it is coming off again. Health wise I take 130 less units of insulin then before surgery. I have gotten rid of a few medications. Hopefully the rest of insulin will go soon. Please everyone that posted to this topic take a minute and tell us how you are doing now. A lot of the posts are from 2011.

Best of luck. Hope you are not in a lot of pain.

After they freeze pop out and put in freezer bag.

Those look really good and easy to make. Very inexpensive also. You were kind enough to supply us with the calories. By any chance did you figure up the protein?

ONEDERLAND! Finally..
mokee replied to babygirl_sandy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been struggling with 9 lbs for over 7 weeks to get to onederland. I finally dropped 2. I have not been in the 100's for 43 years. Yes I am old but not dead yet LOL. Tell me your secret to get there. I know the basics. By the way YAH for you. What an accomplishment. -
Congratulations, what an accomplishment. You must feel fantastic. I also struggle with the last 7 lbs to get to onederland. I hope to succeed soon.

Can Prescription Pepcid Cause Hunger?
mokee replied to BuriedBombshell's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I never had it before surgery but after about 2 weeks out it started. I am 6 months out and tried to quit it and the heartburn came back really bad. I have come to realize this is probably be a life long issue now. -
No such luck. I am a very hairy person and I see no loss except on my head.

Woo hoo. See you on the losing side.

I'm 6 months out and taking omniprazle. I tried a couple of days ago to stop. See what happens. Well made it one day and then it was back with a vengeance. I will try again in a few months. Looks like it is a life long pill.
