    15 days pre- op

Have you tried other means of losing weight. You are what we call a light weight. Do you have diabetes, high blood pressure etc? You have to be ready to change your eating life completely. The sleeve is only a tool. The first six months you can eat very little 600-1000 over the 6 month period. When you have lost all your weight you will be able to increase it and this is when you stabilize at your right weight. You say what happens in 5 years, that is totally up to you. If you go back to your old eating ways you will regain. It is not easy and is a life long process.
  3. You look fantastic. Keep up the good work.

boobs are getting smaller already :-(

Janice, If only the band are getting to big use pins on the sides to make smaller. If the cups get to big you have to replace and at that point you learn to not to buy expensive bras until you are at goal. Or you can buy cup fillers. They look like gel filled boobs that fit in your bra and fill out the cup. Hope this helps.
  5. I'm from the generation of not wasting food also. I try to take exactly what I will eat. After you have surgery next month ordering 2 sandwiches will be so out of the realm. You will only eat the steak and egg off of the sandwich and probably not be able to finish it. This is how the sleeve keeps us from overeating. It is a very good thing and it. Really helps with portion size.

    feeling down

I guess you are on antibiotics. When I had ulcers a long time ago you drank milk and did not eat anything hard to digest. Just my experience.

    Coffee?

    Only decaf.
  8. You say you lost 35 lbs, your ticker says you lost 54 lbs and on your stats page it says you lost 72 lbs. when did you have surgery? Have you regained any weight? Fill us in so we can help you.
  9. I'm at the beauty shop right now and my stylist said you look great. I said thanks. Then as we were talking she said one of her clients lost 60 some lbs the right way by eating right and exercise. Was that a jab? I said that I have been N fat my entire life except for 3 yrs that I starved myself. Every time I lost 10 lbs I'd gain back 15 and so on and so forth. Now she weighs 110 soaking wet. PEOPLE!,!!!
  10. I had the surgery the same time as you. I see my surgeon at the end of the month and then not till 1 yr out. All my blood work was done at 4 months out and that won't be done till 1 yr out also. I think you will still need support group meetings at least till you get to goal. You are a slow loser like me. I would still go to appointments with the new dr. Or if you choose your PCP make sure he runs all the appropriate blood work on follow ups.

    Preop tests

Cardiac is one of the tests I understood. You want that checked out before surgery.

    Surgery coming up

Arts - best of luck on your surgery. I was 66 when I had it done. I see you are older. I see your posts all the time. Prayers coming your way. You won't regret it.
  13. First find a doctor that is Bariatric Center of Excellence. Then go to their seminar. Do a lot of research on the doctors that you find. You want someone that has done hundreds of sleeves. Go to more than one seminar and take notes. I went to 4 different practices before I chose the one I thought was right for me. Also want a doctor that has very small percentage of leaks. Where are you from? There is a surgeon button at the top to get started. Best of luck.
  14. 4 posts from her for me. Just deleted them and glad they got rid of her.
  15. Most have 2 weeks. Some I read have a month ans some don't have a preop diet.

    Losing my MARBLES!

My dear granddaughter ( my only grandchild) took two small fish bowls and tied a yellow ribbon around each one and put 100 clear marbles in and wrote in yellow paint on the fish bowls lbs lost and lbs to go. She gave them to me at the beginning of my journey. I just thought this was so sweet and thoughtful. I have them on my kitchen counter so I see them all the time. A lot of movement at the beginning but sure has slowed down recently.
  18. Example: last night we were eating out and I ordered a scoop of chicken salad on a bed of salad. My husband had a sandwich with potato salad. I used to really like the potato salad here. I ate my chix salad left most of the greens and was getting full. I tasted his potato salad (still very good). I was really full and he had two bites of potato salad left and offered it to me. I said sure because I really wanted it and at the last minute I declined and I am very glad I did. I was still uncomfortably full for 2 hours without eating the extra potato salad. You will learn how much you can eat very quickly.

    Camping ideas

Have a pack of those hot dogs now and they are good. You can eat two and feel very satisfied for 80 calories.
  20. I for one never drank milk. I say never. But I was told I have very dense bones. But over the years I ate a lot of ice cream so maybe that is why. I take my calcium regularly and my blood work came back normal for calcium. Now if I had not taken it would it have come back normal. I don't know. Just keep track of whatever you are taking so if you are low at blood work time you will know what to do.

    Things Iook forward to....

Shopping in the reg woman's dept is my favorite pastime. Never knew how much variety the normal size woman had.

    Strong woman

You are doing fantastic. Keep up the good work.
  23. I have lost 69 lbs. used to wear 24 now I am not sure. Tops I wear an XL. Pants my legs look nice in a 14 but my stomach needs a 16-18. Any suggestions on what to do. I hate the baggy legs on the bigger pants because my legs were never this small before. I guess the gut will go eventually.
  24. I was of the understanding dumping syndrome was vomiting. You are having diareeha. I had this for over 5 months post op. first blood work was low in iron. Since I have been working on that I have stool again. The first 5 months it was as if every time I ate I ran to the bathroom. This was my experience.
  25. Sassy girl you look great. Yours arms are not flappy at all. Good job.
