    Sno-cone

How do you do with cold at this point? Maybe get 2 spoons and just taste his and see how it goes. If you explain why he will be glad to share. Have fun.
  2. Same thing happened to me and oh my stomach looked like the Himalaya Mountain Range. It was very scary. I gained 15 lbs.
  3. I had no sugar free anything when I was a kid. I am older than dirt. But I do remember Tab and Fresca later on in my life.

    Very cute!
  5. I am a retired customer service represenative. I am 8 months postop and down 80 lbs.
  6. I just have to say, the sharpei, the wrinkley dog, if I did not spell correctly, is showing all over me. I guess when winter comes and it is not so hot I will finally try spanx and see if that helps in some areas. Still glad the 80 lbs is gone.

    Today is my day!

    Wish you the best.
  9. All the testing and prep you did can be taken to another dr. You will not have to start over. Don't let that dr talk you into a procedure that you do not want. I have only met 1 person that lost all her weight to goal and said she was having no problems. Be very sure. You don't want to have a second surgery.

    Newbie...and soooo hungry!

Are you taking a PPI? Acid reflux can make you feel hungry.
  13. I would think as young as you are if you exercise it should be minimal. Would not worry about that. I was in the hospital 2 nights. I could have gone home after 1 night but my surgeon asked if I wanted to stay another night. I choose to stay because I did not feel comfortable enough to go home.

    favorite NSV's/most anticipated NSV's

As far as shopping goes, just wait till you get into regular woman's clothing. Talk about a selection. I can't remember ever being in regular size clothing before. I go into a dept store and just wonder around looking at all my choices. It is so awesome. It won't be long and you will be here also. By the way you are doing fantastic. Keep up the good work.

    ANXIETY!

By his comments it sounds like he is not experienced with the sleeve. Most drs are not even doing lap and anymore because of all the problems. You had better research his qualifications and seek advice from another dr.

    Need some encouragment

I am 8 months post op. I also am 66 yrs old. This was also a bit scary for me at my age. I can imagine you worrying about being here for your daughter but at the way you are will you be here for her. Are you able to do all the things you want to with her? You have to weigh the pros and cons and most importantly find a very good surgeon. I am down 80 lbs and would never have lost this without the sleeve. Best of luck to you.

    Need Advice on Sugar Addiction

I am 8 months out. My history: In childhood my mother was overweight and we ate sweets all the time. I became a obese child. At 4 ft tall and 4 th grade I weighed 160 lbs. very large. I have been addicted to sugar for over 60 yrs. the pre op diet was very hard. But I managed to not cheat once in the 2 weeks. Then after surgery I did not crave any sugar at all for a few months. Then when I was released to all foods I started trying a taste of this and that. Now I can eat everything and the sugar beast has raised it's ugly head. I have days where I eat too much sugar but I can't eat a whole bag of cookies or a pint of ice cream like before. I am a CARBOHOLIC and always will be so I have to watch what I do the rest of my life. This is not easy but well worth it.
  21. March 2012 I started searching for the right surgeon. In June I had my first appointment. Had surgery Nov 28 2012. 8 months from start to finish. Now I am 8 months post op. Down 80 lbs. Time sure does fly and I could have never lost this much by myself. Best of luck in your journey, It is definitely a journey.
  22. I've been type II for 20 yrs. been on insulin 2 yrs plus metforin. Used to take 4 shots a day 150 units. Now after losing 78 lbs I take 30 units, 2 shots a day plus the same metforin. Endo said I probably have been diabetic too long to completely get off of insulin. I had the sleeve 8 months ago specifically to get off of insulin. Has not worked for me yet but many on the posts have great results. I am 66 yrs old also. Best of luck to you.
